If no one told me this was Green Day and I just listened to it, there's no way id recognize it as Green Day. I think he's trying too hard to sound like Danzig. They should do a Green Day version of this song, and like, put their sound into it. That's what makes covers awesome, you get to hear a song you like, in a different bands style. This is like karaoke. I know they didn't record this for an album or anything, and im being a hater, but just being honest. While im at it, my favorite Metallica album is Garage Days, cause none of the songs are Metallica songs lol

the defining thing about this song is that it's so short. it may not be an equation of notes for a guitar bridge like Zeppelin and the lyrics on the surface are very akin to other Misfits songs (about Island of Dr Moraeu to be exact)- but it's a feeling. it has such a raw, beautiful, angry, sad and joyful at once energy that can't help but get a reaction from the listener. It's addictive, you don't simply play the song once, you hit repeat a few times; even on vinyl. it's that melody that you'll randomly think about and need to play it to sedate that next minute and a half. Danzig had that secret to write such a simple piece of work that manages to whir up such a strong feeling. and that's why the misfits are legends. a simple feeling.
