I must complement the artistic ability on the oboe and the piano as well. But importantly, I must compliment the skill with which the instruments were miked, and then mixed for balancing. Without the skillful choice of microphone, placement and then mixing, a beautiful piece would come off hollow and disappointing. All the Best , Rob

The Acoustic is not great here, but the weight of history is.. Not only the great Bach and his music but also the Wender voicing provides the magic illusion & magic for the Organist who REALLY hears this creation with un-biased ears ! I played here in the 1980's anf also in the Silberman Museum ......I learned much from simple......observance. Bryan Australia.

Une copie de cet instrument a été construite à Pontaumur, Puy de Dôme, c''est à dire en Auvergne, facteur Delhumeau je crois, il y a une vingtaine d'années. Cela apporte chaque année au mois d'Août, un intérêt au Festival JS Bach en Combraille. Allez sur You Tube pour vous faire une idée aussi bien esthétique que sonore de cette belle réalisation, et pourquoi pas un jour venir l'écouter, car Arnstadt c'est vraiment loin...

WOW! That was fantastic! Nice tempo with a slight edge to it. Good abundance of terraced dynamics that seem to be bottomless at the end of the fugue, and an instrument whose "gain" knob goes up to 11.

Fabulous performance of a piece I love. Expansive, expressive, plenty of space to enjoy the harmonies and progressions - like so many pieces, a lot of organists take it much too fast for my tastes! And I do like Casavant organs...
