India ink for the black.
What are the dimensions of the Chicago Fire Dept logo?

Wat stain you used for white ???? Nice work
Flag giveaway must have 😊❤
I use flat black spray paint for my black strips and union.
If you plane your calls so that there is a slight bow in the centre, it should straighten out when you clamp, and give you consistent pressure.
Great job! I had to chuckle when you were using the Dremel on the stars. I had the greatest urge to blow the dust away. I set up a small fan to keep the dust away from my work area. Of course I wear a dust mask.
Have a CNC machine

Awesome video
My home depot adds a round over to the wood it’s stupid, makes carving stars impossible
Excellent video. I would try a plastic straw for glue removal on the face of the flag. I crease it with a utility knife and then use the crease to scrape it up. Works great and it won't take off the stain.
Great work. I love how you use the carbon paper to trace the image.
Very nice flag build.
This jig is awesome. Thank you very much for providing all your knowledge of woodworking. I’m new to all this but making Patriotic projects is my favorite. God bless and Merry Christmas
Flag giveaway
Great job. Beautiful 😅
Great video- when I’m cutting the pencil line separating the two colors, I just cut along the pencil line with a sharp utility knife- stain up to the line and stain won’t cross it.
Good explanation, spoken clearly and calmly Nice design.
You got a brand/name of the stain you use? Ive been making flags, stain ive been using has to take so many coats to get thr correct color

Flag giveaway, looks great
To save on remaking clamp bar. Try adding hardwood strips to the sides of the length of the bars. Should keep the bowing to a minimum.
Great work those flags are beautiful.
Where did you get the stencil for the fire department?
This is a beautiful flag. I love the flag and the jig. I have just subscribed and clicked the bell. Thanks for the video.
Sorry late to the party if this question has already been asked (couldn’t find in the comments) do you #00 the red also or just the white stripes? Outstanding results
Hey thanks for the ideas I built my own jig similar to yours and it really helps me build my flags and I really appreciate your info
Very nice!!!!
Great project n video. Looks fantastic. Plan to build one.
I like your straight forward attitude and helpful hints.
In response to tricks for marking the Union. I started off the same way, painters tape. Hated it. I switched to hammering in a utility blade on the three boards over my pencil lines just like you. Had mixed results. Maybe you’re more precise and don’t have this issue, but I found that after I stained when I pulled my blades that many times I would end up with an uneven line. Either the blades were slightly left or right of the mark or the angle wasn’t perfect and the blade didn’t hammer in at a true 12-6. Made my brain hurt. Easiest fix I found was to take a solid straight edge, I used my steel stencil so I didn’t have to bother with measuring, and I held it in place just like you do with the Mylar stencil. Then I’d take a utility knife or exacto knife and scored all 7 Union boards straight down to give a much cleaner line. Then I would go back and hammer in the 3 blades. Just ever so slightly scoring the line first also makes it a lot easier to hammer the blades in so you can get a little deeper into the wood and not have them pop out. That was a long comment to say “score the Union line before you hammer the blades in” lol.
Awesome job brother

How much would you charge to build and ship one of these to me?
I really like the idea of using the razor blades during the burn session. On my flags I would just burn the whole thing and then I brush everything clean. What was the total time on this build?
Thank you for your comment. Razor blades make it easier for me. I didn’t want to burn the whole flag on this one as it would be hard to carve the stars with this deep of a burn as it hardens the grain. When I do a regular burn I do the whole flag. I think it took me about 7 hours over all as the sanding and steel wool took me about 3-3.5 hours. I don’t plan on making this again I just wanted to try this technique and it did come out amazing!
Nice work 👍❤️🇺🇸
Nice technique for sure. If you find the pencil hard to see at times, I found using a white pencil to be way easier on the eyes, and you can see if you missed any lines right away too.
Thank you! Great comment appreciate the tip! I will have to look into a white pencil.
I am new to this, and I'm starting to make these based off you videos, I am listing at $180 is that a unreasonable price point!!!
I don't think $180 is unreasonable but depends on what you are building and where you live. I normally charge $165 and up if I am using select lumber, 50 star union, with a custom logo. The more detailed the logo is the more it will cost as it will take more time. If I am using common lumber and the 1776 union I charge $80-$100. Common lumber is cheap and I can knock out the 1776 union quick. Try your price in your area and see thats about all you can do.
I hope you get more views and subs. Your flags are beautiful! I’ve been beings watching liking and commenting. Hopefully it helps a little!
Thank you! This is my favorite flag took a lot of time but worth it! Thank you for your support and comments!
You got another sub. Those are beautiful flags. Hope you get not subs pouring in.
