Hello dear friend. I cannot believe I missed this video that you posted five days ago. I’m from Corona, Queens, New York, right down the block from the NY Worlds Fair. Then it was a lovely mostly Italian neighborhood where we knew everyone on our block and all of the moms watched out for each other’s children. I moved out in 1970 when I got married. I had a very happy childhood even though we were somewhat poor but I didn’t feel it. I’m so sad that you had to go through all that misery when you were a child. To this day when I think about the Bronx I shutter. All these years I avoided it like the plague! Thank God your life became so wonderful. It’s great when good people get what they deserve. I love to see your jewelry and your collections and enjoy the fact that what you have you are so grateful for. I’m exactly the same way. We are so much alike. You even mentioned reading Charles Dickens, Washington Irving (did you ever visit his home in Tarrytown, NY?), and an interest in Egyptology. I love all those things too. Oh, if we only lived closer! Hello dear friend! I’m so happy that you’re feeling better and that you’re far from the devastating fires! I’m always so happy when I see a new video from you. This one has my favorite pieces to collect, brooches and pins. What beautiful pieces you have. Wear the gorgeous swans brooch for Valentine’s Day in the best of health and happiness. Are you making good headway in placing all of your extraordinary collections where they should be in your new home? I know it’s a lot of work but the results will be stunning. I’m doing the opposite. My Christmas decorations are all carefully stored away and I am starting to go through every drawer, closet, cabinet, shelf and pantry to pare down way too many things that I’ve been keeping for years. My motto is that if I haven’t seen or used whatever it is in five years, it’s going! I’m at an age now where I want someone else to enjoy and use my treasures. I gave and am still giving my daughter whatever she wants and I’m asking friends if they could use certain items. Everything else that I don’t use or need will be donated. It’s very freeing and I’m making people happy. The only things I will keep are my jewelry collection, my curios, art glass and of course china and crystal, etc. as I still love to cook and set a proper table. Believe me, I can get rid of hundreds of pounds of “stuff” and still have everything! Well, that’s it for now. Stay well 💖 Veronica

I'm 71 now and when I was a young girl early teens it was one of the most things that me and my two sisters got to do with our mother was Mom would sit with us and dumped her jewelry box out and let us go on and on over all the pretty stuff she had over the years mama has given me many vintage stings have a ring that she got in California in Long Beach when she was 15 years old well me and my brothers and sisters just lost her December 3rd she was 93... I love all the brooches sometimes I like to take smaller ones and I wear them on this hat of my father's that fits me it's an old Greek fisherman's cap to give you an idea of the style it just looks so pretty when I put a smaller throat on there❤
