Nikon Z fc-GR1 extension grip with the black Nikon Z fc
Просмотров 7 тыс.Год назад
This is my unboxing and first impressions of the Nikon Z fc-GR1 extension grip in combination with the black Z fc. You can order this one only from Japan. It wasn't cheap like the 3rd party grips, but it's perfectly matching the black Z fc, and that's all that matters to me.
The black Nikon Z fc is stunning!

This is a short hands-on video of my new Nikon Z fc (black edition) that I got from Santa this year. I'm so impressed by the beautiful design of this camera, every time I look at it I just want to pick it up and go out and photograph. The camera is stunning.
Removing fungus on the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens

This is how I cleaned my Nikkor 18-140mm DX kit lens that showed several small spots of fungus. Please be careful, if you attempt to do it the same way. I cannot be held responsible for any damage to your lens.

Very important information. Thank you... Good Luck. from Sri lanka.
why on earth is that thing so huge?
It's very small.
A "marvel" of engineering?! Give me a break!
It absolutely is. Nikon have outdone themselves.
Hello, my Zf is equipped with ETZ21 Pro and Sony 28-70 3.5-5.6 FE OSS (E-mount zoom lens from 8 years ago), and the photos are seriously distorted. I have found an agent to try to solve the problem with the ETZ21Pro adapter. They used their hands There is also a variant of the Zf with an E-mount G lens. In the end, the deformation and distortion cannot be solved. However, this does not happen when used with a fixed focus lens, and the Zf camera has deformation On set. Can you give some guidance or test the E-mount? Is this also the case with zoom lenses? I also checked with Nikon officials and they said there is no problem with F-mount lenses using the FTZii adapter. Thank you!
Sorry, I never used E-mount lenses.
Looks good
Lenses for nikon z is ugly...
No, they are cute.
good....
nice bro
I dont know how much extra do you pay for the official Nikon Grip but I think it would be more useful to purchase the SmallRig version, which is cheaper, and then paint it black. It would still be more cheaper and you will gain several features as cold shoe for vertical shooting, arca-swiss integrated plate and a tripod hole in the grip itself for portrait orientation... However, your Nikon Zfc in Black looks astonish, I have the silver-black one and Im in love, the thing is I purchased it before the black one existed :S
Hey, the grip was over 100 USD with shipping, way more expensive than the Small Rig, but I don't like to do any DIY. I feel it fits best with the camera, it's the same design and material.
Maybe take the lens cap off next time?
I will remember that! Thank you! 🙏
Congratulations, love Zfc , amazing crop sensor 👌👌👌
having used the Smallrig grip for my Zfc (black/silver) I think I prefer the extra features of the Smallrig grip. Tripod screw hole for vertikal photo. Cold shoe for accessories. And the most liked feature. Arca-Swiss compatibility.
I wish it was a zf
Very nice 😏😏
The F-mount lenses look very out of place on the FTZ, be it the original version or the updated version II. The F mount on the FTZ doesn't share the same diameter with the back of the Nikkor, which looks even more bizarre with a nifty fifty than with a bigger telephoto lens. The Nikkor, the adapter, and the camera are all made by the company, and it baffles me that even Canon and Sony lenses look better on the Zfc via some Chinese adapters from Fringer or Megadap, where the equipment come from three different parties.
Look Nice
Damn that’s beautiful.
Can you please tell me where to get the black grip!
Has anyone noticed that these adapters extends the focal length of the lens? I hv the viltrox . Using the Z30 and D500 ,I tested 3 lenses, nikon 85mm, sigma 30mm & tokina 11-16.. all shots with the D500 frm the 3 lenses are noticeably wider than w/ the Z30 + adapter. Im jst surprised noone has mentioned this effect frm the adapter in any video. mayb its the same w/ the FTZ .
That's called crop factor. If you're using a 50mm on an Apsc sensor camera , you'll have a 75mm~80mm ,because the sensor on a full frame (35mm film) is ×1,6 times bigger than APS-C . You'll also have a bigger dept of field, in other words you won't have the same bokeh . So if you want a 50mm f2 in full frame , you should probably (if I got it right) get a 32mm F1.4 for the same effect for an APS-C camera .(you'll need wider focal length and bigger aperture)
@@o.l4890 Its besides the crop factor. I knw what crop fctor is.. 1.5 for nikon 1.6 for canon, 2x for micro four 3rds. etc.. 😁
The Black Zfc looks fantastic with the Smallrig grip. I think it will look good with the upcoming 26mm pancake.
I prefer the Nikon grip, because it's all black and has the same design. Isn't Small rig silver at the bottom?
@@TaipeiGeek Sorry. I meant the Nikon grip. My bad.
Can you share the link?
It already expired. I think best is you search eBay or Map Camera.
Wow that’s beautiful
Congrats on the Stealth ZFC - LOVE IT!!!
Yeah, I love it so much. I'm so careful with it, don't want to damage it, haha.
Wow Geek, that grip looks so good, where did you get it from?
I ordered it from Japan via eBay. It's not available anywhere else, which is a bummer. It's expensive, but high quality and the material is exactly the same as the camera, so it's a perfect fit. It makes the camera heavier, but I feel the bottom which is a bit plasticky, is now protected with solid metal. I love it :)
Do you have the link
@@KevTheHeartist Can't find it anymore, sorry. But I think you can search Map Camera.
It is weird they don't sell it in Japan
They don't? That's weird. It took a while before they were available in Taipei. I saw Singapore and Hong Kong got them like a month earlier. But once I saw them on Nikon Taiwan's website, I went to get one in the Nikon shop in Taipei. And I just got my Nikon GR1 grip from Japan, you can see that one in my today's video.
This looks so dope!
Tag me once you get the 26mm pancake… it’ll probably be a while until Nikon officially releases it, but it’ll be worth the wait!
@@Telly26 Thanks for your comments and I'll sure do. I'll post some more Z fc Black videos soon. I also bought the FTZ II adapter as well as the Shoten NF to NZ adapter and will try out all my F glass.
So Beautiful.
Can i Use 75% percent alcohol with moisturizer (Green Cross) ?
I'm not sure I would dare to use that.
@@TaipeiGeek I'm lucky that I've ask you about this Actually I totally removed the fungus on my Lens using Fujicolor Lens Cleaning solution
All I can say is that I still have and use my Nikon F2A that I bought new in 1979. I know that there are many other cameras out there just as old, but not after as many pics that I have taken on my F2A. Pat, in Chicago
thanks brother
So good to see someone has put some proper thought and analysis behind the scenes. Nikon produce great equipment, and have always done so; there is no reason why they should not continue to do so - unless all those strange Nikon ‘haters’ out there manage to undermine others belief in the company. Nobody would think of attacking successful yet small volume car manufacturers in this fashion, but the camera industry seems to attract people who appear to be driven to attack! I think that is shocking and ultimately bad for the whole photographic industry. There will always be big successful companies and small successful companies - that is the nature of business. I have used Nikon’s professionally since 1971 and they have been the sole constant throughout my career. Hasselblad, Bronica, Canon, Olympus, Sinar and many other brands have come and gone; they were right at that particular time for me whereas Nikon have always been pretty much just right all the time. Long may they continue.
can we mount this lens to z6 nikon with FTZ adapter??
Yes, you can. You will not have autofocus, but everything else will work, that is setting of the aperture via scroll wheel, and the exif data will be available, too.
@@TaipeiGeek thanks
Nice! Thanks for sharing the experience.
nice video :)
Great work Geek, Nikon punch above their weight, all here in your video, very clearly.
Thanks. People forget this fact, and always talk like Nikon is some kind of huge company like Canon and Sony. I've actually checked the annual revenue data by year, and this year their revenue will be about the same as in 2005. There was a huge revenue growth between 2006 and 2013 when it peaked, and from then it's going down every year, most likely bottoming out this year. So Nikon is back to where they were in 2005 before the digital camera revolution. All they need to do is get their overhead and production cost back to 2005 levels and they will be fine.
Hail Nikon ! May it grow 2-fold as a company. i salute Nikon for making the best Apsc & Fx Dslrs, ... & wish D880 would be announced soon without any upsurge in MP count.
Well said! I expect a D880 next year, but I also hope for a D500 successor. Next year will be very exciting in terms of product launches.
I heard 2nd gen made in Thailand. Quality as good as 1st gen Z6 made in Japan?
Yes, it should be.
hows the focus performance this is better than canon eos R6 ??
I wasn't able to make a comprehensive AF test of the two cameras. The first issue was both cameras have a Chinese language menu, and while I speak Chinese, reading a camera menu settings is too hard for me. I'm also not familiar with Canon's menu system to know what is the best AF setting. The Eye AF they had pre-set on the camera was fine, same as with the Nikon Z6 II. I don't think there is a big difference in AF performance between these two cameras. I also use Single point AF 99% of the time. I don't like Eye AF or Continuous AF, so those features don't matter to me. What is noticeable though is that the Z6 II has a better build quality, it feels more premium compared to the R6. The second noticeable difference is the EVF, the Nikon's really feels so natural. The R6 is not bad, but Nikon's is better.
@@TaipeiGeek thank you for replying..
@@avdhootrohite6031 Thanks for your exprience.
Congrats on getting to see it :)
Thanks Matt. I'd really love to get one right now, and although I have the funds, it's hard to justify this to the missus, as I really don't want to waste money during a pandemic for a hobby that I can only enjoy in a limited way right now. So I will wait until next year... wait and wait, and watch your channel in the mean while, and continue to use my D810.
@@TaipeiGeek I think demand with be very high for the Z6 II it could take until next year before they are easy to get hold of. :)
@@MattIrwinPhotography Yes, the pandemic and the economic uncertainty will definitely hold off people from buying unnecessary tech, or they will buy cheaper (like the Z5). In any case, Nikon is now so much better positioned. If you compare 2 bodies and 3 lenses in November 2018 and now 2 years later 6 bodies, 18 lenses, 2 tele converters and 2 battery grips. Nobody can say now that the system is limited.
@@MattIrwinPhotography I wrote a little blog post about it and added some pictures taipeigeek.blogspot.com/2020/11/visiting-taipei-international-photography-and-media-equipment-exhibition-2020.html
Thanx for dropping by my channel! Your 58mm looks solid! Does its focus ring feel smooth? I used to have a 17.5mm f0.95 for my Panasonic camera. Not to mention the image quality, I loved its built quality and how smooth the focus ring was!
Yes, the focus ring is one of the best I ever had. It's an all metal lens, high quality.
nice table
Great video.
