Crochet the X Marks the Spot Square! | Crochet Tutorial | Great for Blankets!
You’re way too fast at showing the single crochet 😂
I will do make a video working much slower for knit stitches and crochet stitches in the future! Sometimes I forget how quick it looks on the video :|
I've been doing small samples to try out different patterns and this by far the best one. I've been crocheting for years and have never heard of the linked double crochet. I love the look! I also very much appreciate your camera angle and your soft manner in explaining everything. It was perfect. Thank you :-)
Thank you so much for those kind words! <3
Oh my goodness! My friend sent me this link. Thank you so much for the lovely review!
Your yarn is absolutely fabulous!! The colors, perfect! Just what I was looking for. I will be back for more! :)
I love this pattern more than others I have seen. is there written instructions?
I don't have a pattern written up, but I am working on adding free patterns to my blog, so stay tuned and I'll make sure I add this one too!
Could you please give written instructions also? I lost track of the single, double, treble, etc pattern part. Thank you!.
I definitely can! I'll post this as a free pattern on my website.. stay tuned! :)
Thank you very very much! Really think it’s cute for kids! ❣️❣️
@bitknits Hi. Just finally had a chance to look for the directions on your website, but only finding RUclips links. Can you please give me yours. Thanks again!!
I have this pattern up on my blog! Scroll down to the bottom where I have a link to free patterns! :) bitknits.wordpress.com/
I know a few ytubers did something else than grannies with it but it is fun to scroll through the projects made with it on Ravelry. The knitted hats came out cute.
I definitely love the all in one granny concept. But I'm really excited to try other projects with this yarn. The colors are fabulous!
I bought my beads at Walmart and they have a larger hole. I used 4mm for my beads and 5mm for the regular stitches. I also used a 4 weight yarn. Mine came out 40 inches long and 100 sts wide. I used 2-1/2 skeins of yarn and 1-1/2 "tubs" of multi colored beads with ivory yarn (Big twist)
Oh man. I figured all pony beads would be pretty much the same. I bought 1000 on Amazon and only a 3mm will fit nicely. I told my son I'd get his blanket to him in about 4 years with that tiny hook 😂
@@kaitb07 I made the same mistake. I bought mine at Amazon and they were the same as you described. Then I went to Walmart and bought theirs. Some holes measure up to 4.5mm but 4mm works the best.
Love this do you have a filet crochet for a rocking horse
I do not yet, but I will work on that! I'm always looking for new ideas/patterns for these squares! :)
@bitknits I know that I would love it I have never did filet crocheting until I came across your patterns and site and I absolutely love it
Just seen the colour. So sorry
Lion Brand's Big Scoop Ice Cream in "Tutti Frutti"! But any Ice Cream colorway will give you similar results! :)
@@bitknits sorry silly question how many balls did you use. Please
So sorry to be of a pest. Firstly hello from Sydney Australia. Secondly. Love love lovw not only your work but also the time you soend to teach us what you do. And that you take time out of your busy schedule to teach us. Could i please ask what colour is the yarn please
Thank you so much! :)
Wow just found your channel, fabulous work, thanks bunches from a beginner 🎉
♥️
Absolutely beautiful
I like this stitch, with or without the beads. This will be my next blanket, but I will make a beaded throw first for practice. Cheers!
Agree! I am also planning some projects using the linked double crochet (without beads) - LOVE this stitch as a fun way to work a double crochet.
I love this blanket
Thank you! <3
Hello Your thrifty minded like me so what are you going to make with all that variety of granny squares? What band was playing while you wound your yarn interested in knowing Thanks
I'm going to make a blanket with all of these squares! I was so afraid of "messing up" a project using these yarns (since they are a bit more expensive and not my usual type of yarns) that I decided on simple granny squares. If I have a bunch left over I may make a pillow cover(s) to go with the blanket! The music is: ruclips.net/video/wjhxTWdqZVQ/видео.htmlsi=nKiIEv42fJLLcMi8
That sounds like fun plus a lot of work thank you for the info on the music I thought it was something my son and his music venue had played
Can this be done with 3- weight yarn? I have a particular yarn blend in mind, but it only comes in 3 or 5 weight.
You can definitely try it with a 3 weight yarn. Pony beads are a bit bigger sized bead which is why they work well with the 4 weight yarn, but should work with a 3 weight!
currently working on this project with a weight 3 yarn and it's turning out great!
Love it!
Thank you!
This is really cool! I love it! Thank you for sharing.☺I love learning new stitches and will definitely give this one a try.
You're welcome! 😊
Thanks for sharing! My family does not like holes in their blankets, so this is a GREAT option!! I, on the other hand, like the holes😂. Will be making a weighted blanket for my grandkids now, thanks!!!
I know quite a few people who don't like the holes in their blankets either! LOL The linked dc is amazing for this. I'm so glad you found it helpful! :)
Gorgeous
I like this version - I saw another one where you had to switch crochet hooks with each row, and that's annoying. I already knew how to do linked double crochet, but you took an interesting approach by comparing it with Tunisian crochet.
Thank you! <3
The best instruction I have seen about this blanket and a new stitch too. Awesome. Thank you 😊
Thank you! :)
So neat. I can't wait to try this version. Thank you!
You're welcome! I love these mitered squares!
Thank you so much for the information. These beautiful yarns remain a bit pricey for simply messing around with and winding up with a cat blanket sampler. They sure are pretty. BTW, we're NOT all "guys"...some of us are real women.
I agree, these types of yarns are super pricey for most of what I make. But I am enjoying searching for smaller business to support and I am absolutely loving the project I'm making with these special yarns. <3
What a fantastic idea. Shared with the amazing Raock and more group this is fantastic thank you for sharing
I’d never heard of linked double crochet before! That’s really cool
I love this stitch for patterns where I don't want or like the look of a traditional double crochet stitch (with the bit of space that creates sometimes). The linked stitch really does join the double crochets together and is such a neat stitch!
It's honestly my favorite stitch right now. So pretty! I just shared this video on a group I'm in after showing it off. There were ladies looking to learn the stitch. 😊
Beautiful. ❤
Thank you! 😊
This is a neat design.
Hi you really do a Beautiful job I really mean that ok
Thank you so much! 😊
😊
Love this!!!😀
Thank you! This yarn is so soft and easy to work with too! highly recommend!
@@bitknits Yes, of course, thank you for sharing this video and business! I look forward to purchasing some yarn! 😄
These are so cute, thank you 🎉
I love these! They come out super cute no matter what colors you make them in and they are pretty quick too!
Gorgeous
what is the multiple? 3+4?
The multiple for this chevron pattern is 10+1 then +3 for the turning chain.
Thx!😊
These granny squares are actually only 5 rounds (I have no idea why I thought they were 8 rounds!!)
Super cute!!! Great instructions too! 💗
Thanks so much! 😊
This is neat.
I like the looks of these scrubby’s. Have u used them in ur kitchen? Just wondering if there’s worth making?
I have not used them in the kitchen yet, but plan to try them today! I think for the kitchen, a stronger, more abrasive scrubby type yarn would work better. (The stitch soak scrub yarn isn't as rough as some of the other types, in my opinion!) These would work very well as face/bath scrubbies since they aren't overly rough on your skin.
Thank you for this video 🌈✨
So cute. It’s nice to have a small quick project.
Love this do you have the pattern?
I am working on a written pattern for this, yes! In the meantime, the RUclips tutorial is available! ruclips.net/video/Sa2nwKt040E/видео.html
Magnificent
Bellicimo pero por fabor en Español gracias
This is wonderful and beautiful I much like this one
One of my favorite patterns so far for this project!!
I feel that a solid color works better with filet crochet
I definitely agree! The solid colors really allow the filet pattern to show up better.
I love filet crochet
Sooo sweet thank you ! 🦋💕🦋
Such a beautiful piece.
Thank you very much! One of my favorites!
Thank you! Mine ended up too long for me, because I overestimated the length of the initial chain. It'll be perfect for my taller husband, though. The scarf is gorgeous.
Wonderful! Getting that initial chain length right is always a process because there are so many factors that go into how long the scarf will turn out to be in the end!
Happy Mother’s Day. 🌹 The puzzles would be so much fun. The mystery bag was nice. It’s great to get some new yarn to try.
Thank you! You too! I can't wait to use this yarn (and try these puzzles!)
