Summary of the video for those new to architecture: A ugly piece of modern concrete disfiguring mother nature. A coherent, durable result could have been achieved with natural materials such as stone and wood but of course it would have required more than one week to build it...

The layout of the house is very interesting but the finishes could have been so much more in keeping with the nature elements in the home. It’s too industrial looking and this seems at odds with the philosophy of the building.

Ein weiterer, in den Hang versetzter Block als Obergeschoß mit einer verglasten Südseite und einer davorliegenden Terrasse plus einer zusätzlichen Öffnung auf die Westseite, würde dem Haus mehr Leichtigkeit verleihen und den Bewohner etwas mehr vom vorbeiführenden Weg abschirmen.

I built a much bigger house of this design. IT IS PHENOMENALLY ENERGY EFFICIENT - every house in America should be designed the same way. In the summer when it is 105 degrees outside the inside never goes above 75. In the winter when temps drop to -20F the inside stays at 55 degrees with no heat source. So heating with a woodstove uses 2 cords a YEAR and u NEVER need aircon ever + tornado wind and earthquake proof. So many whiny B*tches in the comments about concrete but someone will still be living in my house 200 or 300 years from now because 8 inch walls ain't going nowhere. Everyone wants green this, ecological that - but no thought to total cost over centuries of occupation - just the same short-sighted thinking. My house is on flat ground - no blueprints - napkin designed :) It's a big concrete box 40 ft square with a very low pitched roof. There are no windows on the north side because its is bermed with 400 cubic yards of dirt taken right from the surrounding land (cost me $1300 to pay a guy to do that with a dozer and excavator). I had a contractor do the foundation and pour the walls - my son (11 at the time) and I did everything else other than the electric. Took us 80 days of brutal labor to finish. Total cost about $60k for the house - another 50k for 30 acres of land.

I like the way the light comes in above the kitchen shelves. I wonder if this extends into the bathroom? It would have been nice to see a picture of the roof, skylight, and drain from the top.

Concrete does not blend in with the natural landscape at all. A lightweight construction would have been ideal, using wood, for example. Apart from saving on materials and labour, they would also save on meaningless narrative.
