To start with do not remove the body mask, you could have just trimmed where you wanted your black, a sharp knife will do great! remove body over spray film at the last step only!!!!!! Now you have tape residue all over the body!!!

Sure feels nice to pull off the outer foil, but why don’t you use it for masking and painting the outside? Feels even better to pull it off AFTER that… 🤷🏻♂️

For the flat paint part: obviously you cant pain this from inside or it won't be flat. But, couldn't you use a hobby knife to slice the cellophane cover and remove only isolated pieces and make the exterior masking part easier?
Yes you can absolutely do that. It's much more easier than the way I did it.

just sharing, some thinners damage the plastic body shells….from experience😩. Since then i’ve used isopropyl alcohol. No more damage.
