Nice Bike. Dumb question, but why did you lower it?

Now 80 and bought my Monkey in June 2023 and have just over 2,000 miles now. Installed T-Rex racing wind shiels, center stand and Man in the box $120 rear shocks Having fun and look forward to many more miles. Like you videos and sadly the exhaust on yours is has been discontinued. The steel guitar reminds me of home I am from Honolulu Hawaii.

How many miles,are on that bike now?

That's one of the things with the chain drive bikes you always got to keep that chain adjustment up but Not to tight and always oil the chain especially with you living in Minnesota riding in that kind of weather the salt on the road will ruin a chain quick if it's not cleaned and oiled enough. You also might want to keep an eye on the underside of that bike to check for rust and corrosion use anti-rust spray wherever you can especially in the winter months. I've got a 2024 Monkey and I upgraded to an o-ring chain supposedly it's a lot less maintenance but you still need to check the adjustment from time to time and keep it oiled.

Mate, get that chain replaced asap. My pals Grom chain was in the same condition and it broke and smashed his engine casing and wrecked the bike. Always keep your chain at the right tension. There's loads of how to videos on RUclips. All the best! John.... watching from Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍🏻

I have an apache 2800 case on an amazon rack. I bought some rubber lined p clamps at HF along with fender washers top and bottom of case bottom and it looks really clean if you want to try different mounting hardware.

Well done..so you never cleaned the oil pump screen??? I use a magnetic oil pan screw, it collects the tiny metal fragments. Works wonderful.

This is a dream trip! I’m falling in love with the Monkey and have never been on one. I drove a 1983 Honda cb450 and love the small Honda engines. Great ride!

I ride my Monkey in the winter, after every ride I spray it off with a lot of clear water to get the salt off, apart from one little bit of rust on the brake disc she is fine, obviously I see to it that she gets a proper wash when I have time, that happens 2-3 times a month. I like how you have set up your bike, I live in Germany so I have to keep mine more or less original. Keep up the good work.
