Welcome to my channel about motorsports (diecast) models. I used to do my reviews on my previous channel, Diecast Reviewer. All new content will be added here exclusively.
The main theme will be F1, mostly scale 1/18. I do have other motorsports related subjects like half scale helmets and cars and bikes from other disciplines of the world of motorized sports. I'll be posting unboxing video's, reviews, collection overviews and much more! Any bias to any particular brand is purely based on a personal feeling about the modelcar or brand in question.

Looksmart vs BBR - Ferrari SF-75 Charles Leclerc F1 2022 1/18 review and comparison
Quick question please. Do you know of a site with a database of all the F1 diecast models done by BBR? Thanks
Awesome review. I have loads of Bburago models but I'm thinking of slowly change them to BBR so i started looking on RUclips to see if it's worth it. You convinced me. I found one brand new for £180.
This car also is still in development according to Sparks website
Would you ever sell this? been looking around and cant find any any 2012 singapore helmets
Were did you but this from ?
Hot wheels premium<mini gt<tarmac global 64<tarmac hobby 64<lcd model<kyosho<tlv
THats why i buy elite, these look cheap ,very toy like!
Sick!!!
You should check out some inno64, they rival or sometimes edges out TarmacWorks
Love your sheer knowledge of all things F1. The fact that you have an eye for details, and it shows. I prefer Spark overall.
This 1/18 is 🥰
Nice job once again. Good description of features. Agree that Tarmac Works are the best in class on 1/64 scale. Their packaging and presentation are top notch and models feature phenominal attention to detail.
I love the small form factor of 1:64 its so usefull to build a big collection
think is the winner here is Solido special in details & price point 😊 Absolutely gorgeous model
One of the best model absolutely gorgeous 😍
I will rather the bbr sf 23, looks better and doesn't have that stuped looking front nose cone
Sorry for being like 3 years late but can you show me the link for the instructions
You can find all of his brilliant creations on ddntube's own website. These models are featured on the F1 legends page: ddntube.weebly.com/f1-legends.html Enjoy!
@@rps_reviewsthanks now I have to get 4 pounds 😅
Does it have a mic built in it
No, there would be no need for that either. It's a half scale replica, so about the size of a large grapefruit.
as a new collector i have the chance to get a mp4/26 of button wich i have good memories of it or the rb16b both of minichamps, wich one would you pick? there is only 5$ of difference
Sorry for the late reply, but I'd go with your gut feeling, the one you like the most personally. If you want my opinion, I think the Mclaren is a bit more intresting with those special sidepods.
This one is so cool I have it extremely accurate looks just like the real car
how much was it
@@P33CEGAWDi thought its around 60 bucks
They did a good job on recreating it in these building blocks, yes!
@@P33CEGAWD Something around 60-90 bucks depending on where you look.
Prices ?
Mini GT usually around €15-20, Tarmac slightly more expensive at around €25-35.
I think the RB18 looked great in soft tire compound during qualifying., The red stripes and lettering on the tires combined with the shiny tire compounds of todays Pirelli''s looks great on the actual car. I bought a Spark RB18 with soft (red tires) and it's always kind of bothered me when I look at it because of the thick stripes. I think Minichamps got tire sidewall and lettering right, so when it came to purchasing a model of the RB19, I chose Minichamps. I think their foil visors are such and improvement from those ugly brown visors tipped the decision for me.
The Spark Pirelli branding is not the best indeed, especially on the 1/43 scales.
Great review, as you mention many of the things that are important to me before purchasing a model. Helps with my shopping....Thank you very much.
You're welcome!
Hi, I’ve messaged you on Instagram and unsure if you can answer these inquiries: 1. What kind of pen did you use to draw the tyre markings? 2. What color is it (especially for Lewis Hamilton’s red markings) 3. Did you design and printed barcode decals? 4. How did you preserve these markings? Through a coating layer? Please let me know if you can answer these questions, or if I’d have to book an appointment. I’m extremely keen to be able to learn these techniques as I am new to modifications.
Hi, how did you make the tyre markings? Just purely with a special pen?
but still MINI GT is Lightyears ahead of Hotwheels permium
I don't know the quality of the Hot Wheels premium, but I'm sure Mini GT is better, yes. I still like Mini GT, don't get me wrong. I have more models that I have ordered that will be coming in the next few weeks!
Mini GT is the 1/64 scale division of TSM. They are like the BBurago of 1/64 scale are the blister packs are designed for retail display. Tarmac Works are an IXO related company and provide upscale and more detailed models than Mini GT. What I find odd is that the much cheaper Mini GT is limited to around 2,000 models while the Tarmac Works 9,999. I do like that the Limited-Edition card with the Tarmac Works tells you specifically what specific serial numbered car that you own, very cool. As you point out, Tarmac Works does great individual livery themed artwork on the packaging and bases, also very cool. You can tell that as a collector and reviewer, such as yourself, I really like Tarmac Works and don't mind paying a premium price for them. Mini GT do take short cuts and their quality and quality control can be very poor. Mini GT Corvette C8s have an inaccurate colored livery while parent company TSM gets it perfect.
Thanks for the added info! Although I too think Tarmac is superior, I still enjoy the Mini GTs I have too. I have some more coming too in the next few weeks.
Good to see you back. Initially i couldn't find your channel due to the name change but all good now!
Yeah, I didn't do a whole rebranding fuss, maybe it would have been helpful for some people. But good that you found your way back!
Interesting to see your thoughts on them. I’ve also started collecting in the last year and now have a mixture of F1, road, race and rally cars. Amongst my collection are the 1995 Le Mans McLaren F1-GTR, 1995 Subaru Impreza and 1992 Martini Lancia Delta, all of which I think you’d love. I can’t wait for their Ayrton Senna cars to arrive, and I’m also eagerly anticipating the Alfa Romeo Sauber from 2023.
The 1995 Mclaren is on it's way, the 1997 Mcrae Subaru I'm trying to find for a decent price. Can't wait for the Senna models either! I hope they look good.
These models are really good for their price! And I've got some of them 😊
They really are, indeed! I'll probably get more of these in the future! Which ones do you have?
@@rps_reviews McLaren MP4/23, Honda RA06 and Williams FW14B 🙂
Cool cars, love the Williams! I really like their '70s and 80s cars, they look very nice.
@@rps_reviews If we talk about Williams, I can notice that Modelcargroupe released Williams FW11 from 1986 F1 season. So it would be very interesting 🙂
Woohoo, like. how best !have a good one-
Thanks!
Interesting to see Mini Gt in F1, considering TSM is not. I think you will find the Tarmac Works make the best models in 1/64 scale.
Next video will be a straight comparison of a Mini GT model and a Tarmac Works.
Interesting to see you trying these. I have acquired a few MiniGT cars over the last year as well. They also make "regular" road cars, as i have an Audi RS6 Avant and a Corvette C8 I also recently got the Verstappen RB18 from Abu Dhabi. These models are really impressive for their scale and not too expensive. They definitely are no toy cars as they have kinda fragile parts like mirrors or wings
The Mini GT road going cars are very good too, indeed. As I said, I just prefer the race cars as they usually have more smaller details on them.
Hi they switched to Renault decals for the race as a rub in the wounds of Williams as Benetton the day before achieved the 100th pole for Renault in F1. Williams were the long term partners of Renault and was Benetton's first season with them. Ironically it was this same race the Williams of Hill retired with a hydraulics failure something Williams did not fix all season that Benetton found out in before the season started despite being new to Renault. Per Steve Matchett during the Speed Channel F1 decade Review of the race.
@@ayrtonsenna1989luke Thanks for the info, I couldn't find anything on this!
I would love to have been in the meeting when this conversation came up: "Right guys I've got an idea. We're going to make [this] model again. We're going to weather the car, but only the tyres. Got that? We're only weathering the tyres, that's all. It'll look fine, JUST the tyres. Go..." I mean, what were they thinking??!! 🤦
I know right? Again such a Minichamps thing to do...
Thx for your review
You're welcome!
The quality of the “reportage” at the beginning of the video is extraordinary. Thank you for another nice review. 🫶
Thanks, you're very welcome!
Awesome review yet again! Thanks for that! Despite the ugly visor and the seat belts, I think I am gonna order this one.
@@cleverll It's still very good despite the small flaws!
Own an original first run piece of this model. Over 20 years old.
Me too 😊
I have one too still, I wanted to compare them side by side, I might still do that in a shorts video!
@@rps_reviews That would be very cool 👍 ... When i first saw the pictures at the Minichamps "coming soon", i was excited for the release. Then i see the used tires and dirty rims, i was disappointed. I never was a big fan of that "after race look" and so i decited to stay at the "first" edition... Until the decals also peel off like my old B193 and the B194's... 😤
Great review. I think Minichamps did a great job on this one, even despite the shortcomings of their product vs. the offerings of competitors. It's honestly one of the better 1/18 cars I've seen out of them in recent years. Some really seem to think they missed big time on the color of the papaya, but I actually quite like the color they went with and it seems to be what I would expect the real car would have looked like. One rather big question though, how did you end up with a copy of this model that is missing almost all of the sponsor logos on the engine cover? I see no OKX, Cisco, Arrow or Tezos logos below the Chrome logo that are present on the car that ran Monaco and other copies of this very model I see online. Was this perhaps a prototype/sample you got to review, or is this a huge whiff in QA by Minichamps on this instance?
Oh dear! Great spot, I never even noticed until I read your comment. As I mentioned in the video, I didn't feel like doing such a deep research for this one, and it shows 😆. I wondered why this model looked so clean, there is the answer. This model is not a sample or prototype to my knowledge. I'm not sponsored or affiliated with anybody, I purchased this model from and online store. Since Minichamps still has to get back to me about a replacement box, I can ask them how this one went through their QC like that.
@@rps_reviews Right on - hope you get an answer. Sorry to have raised your awareness to it LOL, hope they make it right.
The apprehension was almost unbearable. Great job and collection. The Exoto's WOW>
Most of your viewers probably don't have your skills and are not as observant or as picky. I am not one of those. I do find your videos packed full of great information although, not actively collecting 1/18 scale. I only have one 1/43 scale Mini Champs model and found it to be quite good with attention to detailing as good as Spark. I don't however like the cheap cheesy base unlike that of your 1/18 scale.
Thanks! I try to be as precise as I can be, both in my remarks and my basic modifications. Being so picky is more of a curse I think as I can say something bad about every model I have 😄, even if they are pretty good still. I mainly collect 1/18s because the details are more apparent on those. Maybe Minichamps will one day upgrade their packaging style of the 1/43, who knows.
The livery looks great. What was rattling in the box? For the price of a /18 scale car, should be as good as a Spark. I have to admit that I only have 1 mini champs in 1/43 and is quite good. Sadly the base and the backing attached to it are crappy, particularly because I never remove cars from their base. Great job once again.
The rattle was from the silica gel package in the plastic holders :D
Great model! 😍
Not too bad, indeed!
Thank you for the review! But how did you make rolling wheels?
@@elplan5296 You can actually rotate the wheels by using force but being very careful at the same time.
@GreatChampionsTinyCars "Being very careful". That's the only thing which don't let me doing this 😬
These models are way too expensive for me especially considering that it's resing and no rolling wheels. I wish Bburago would start doing more classic F1 models. I find great value in their new F1 models
@@CaptHotah Great news for you then Model Car Group is going to come with a 1/18 version of this same car! Their models usually are great value for money, so something to look forward to.
@@rps_reviews i had the 312 from MCG and was a bit disappointed with the quality. It was below bburago. Maybe this one will be better.
Looksmart looks nicer overall aside from decals issue, but wheels don't spin... damn, that killed it for me. How hard is it to make a model with spinning wheels..
Resin models usually don't have rotating wheels. I prefer when they do spin as the tyres don't stick to the surface beneath the model then.
