I've been doing mini twist for the past 5 months and it has grown my hair but I've noticed i'm constantly losing my ends and there is a lot of her loss. it could be due to me using mielle but the mini twist also contribute.

Mini twist is easier to take down with detangling cream but mini braids you have to be careful .

Hy Pami i have a challenge I've recently started doing my own hair. I know how to braid coz I've braided my relaxed hair before and many times but now that I'm transitioning my hair ends stick out on my braids especially after 2 weeks , can i ask what could be the cause of that

How do you remove the build up (dirt, oil etc.) at the start of the braid when you take it down? I find that difficult to remove. I mustn't go past three weeks or I'll get build up. This is even if I wash my hair twice weekly in twists.

The same thing happened to me I never use to moisturize it if I comb it it would break so much. I started mini braid last month I would moisture it every 3 day I leave them in for 5 weeks whn I take it down I see I big difference

My hair has fine strands so I prefer twist for volume. I braid the first part, twist the middle and braid the ends so it doesn't unravel when I was my hair... I started my hair journey with mini braids but my hair looked so funny and skinny and they take long to install and take down. 😅 I don't have that much patience since I do my own hair

There is a technique to doing mini twists. From if your hair is dry or wet during installation,uour texture, your porosity and even the size. Bedn doing mini twists for over a year now and I've never experienced issues. I keep them in for 2 to 3 months and apart from the roots the lengths still look good to go but then to each it's own .

I will try mini twist don't work for me. After a few days it is not good anymore. I think mini braids will work much better. Do you do mini braids on natural hair, or do you use extra hair?

I rather do braids. My twist starts to lock within 4 weeks and gets frizzy quicker. Braids I can leave in alot longer and not have to worry about it locking

Yes! I’ve just recently decided to try mini braids <3 I have fine, dense, coils and they get tangled easily, even when blown out. While I love the looks of twists, I think mini braids would be more practical. I’ll probably do takedowns 1x per month and wash 1x per week. Then when my scalp and hair get back on track, I want to try and make my takedowns every other month. Thank you so much for sharing!

I tried braiding the roots of my mini twists and still had a ton of tangles and breakage, just down the length of the twists and not at the roots. I wish mini twists worked for me.

Aesthetically, I prefer mini twists. However, I do mini braids because they shrink less and last longer. It doesn't take me too long to refresh them because I don't re-part my hair

I switched to mini braids the last few months after someone said they wash hair in mini braids and don’t have to take them down. I ALWAYS had to take my twists out to avoid tangles. My hair has never retained so much noticeable length so quickly!!! I’m not going back to twists until my hair is below my chest 😂 I just make sure to clean my scalp and moisturize my ends. Life is easy now
