Great stuff. Exactly what I was looking for. Looking at a D2Max solar setup for emergency use and a mini split for emergency heating/cooling. Answers my question. Well done. Great sound track too.
Glad it was helpful!! For commenting and watching!
So cool!

They need a SDC fast charge cable for the Avata2
That would be great! Thanks for watching!
Drip superglue in the speaker I bet it would silence it 😁
I bet so! Haha! Thanks for watching!
This unit works really well. It takes about 1 month for the smell to go away though so keep that in mind in an enclosed area. Also if the Power grid Brown out's on you, it is possible for it to trick the unit and it shuts off. I have had this happen about 2-3 times where the power did not go out all the way and did so in a quick 3 secession. But every time the power is out or the breaker is tripped the power is on. My only complaint is I wish it would have a faster charge rate using a toggle switch or something, and it would be nice if they could have fixed the brown out issue as that surprised me. But you cannot find a better priced Lithium UPS out there, On my PC it will last over 1 hour!
Awesome insights! Thanks for watching!
I keep forgetting I just need the furnace to keep us from freezing to death not cozy so I don’t need it on all day
For sure! Thanks for watching!
@21:35. You have to set a timer to force the a/c to stay on is ridiculous. Probably a bug
Yeah, it would be nice if you could force it to stay on. Thanks for watching!
@ kinda of a deal breaker. I just bought c300 dc and was considering this one. I keep the cigarette port on all the time and it never turns its self off. I thought the a/c inverter would be the same on the c1000. Thanks for the detailed review.

Sooooo, why not leave unattended??? And what happened??? Fake title...
Haha! I said why sarcastically in the first few seconds of the video! If you leave the group 31 batteries unattended…you might end up with them having a baby! ;) Thanks for watching!
So when are you going to have your permanent solar connected to it and test it using it??? Use solar close to the 60 v as you can get max solar input... Sadly two '24v' solar panels will be 34 v each or 70 v in series open circuit...a no go...
Someday! I want a huge full home solar array at some point. Thanks for watching!
They make propane heaters for big bottles
Yes they do. But most of those are not indoor rated at all.
@theresatrickforthat the one I ordered was indoor rated. got it from Amazon just in case. I haven't used it yet or measured for carbon monoxide
Hands down the furnace switch is my pick actually I didn't know these were available let alone at Walmart 😃 I wonder if these will work with a gas water heater.
That furnace switch is a game changer I agree! If your gas water heater needs 120 volt power in order to run, then yes, this switch will do the job just great! Thanks for watching!
I watched another reviewer, he said as long as there is an unused SDC port on the Expansion Battery 2000 that i could plug in 1 of DJI's MPPT adapter module (for solar charging), do you agree? And, have you had any conversations with DJI about plugging in 1 MPPT adapter to the SDC port instead of the 1000 dc fast charger? Also, because you plugged in an external charging unit (the 1000w dc charger) to the unused SDC port, would it make sense that the DJI MPPT adapter module could then be plugged into the same port? David
Yes, any spare SDC port on either the main power station unit or the extra battery can be used with any of the SDC accessories. But if I want to use the app dongle and my extra battery… I’m only left with one SDC port which halves the total solar input I can put in… And it will take forever to recharge the power station and the extra battery. We’ve seen from the fast DC charger that the SDC ports can handle up to 1000 W without issue. So I would love to have a hub that I could plug in to my one spare SDC port and then be able to max the solar out up to 1000 W. Then we could actually get the battery and power station charged in somewhat of a decent timeframe. Thanks for watching!
@theresatrickforthat Thank you. I recently purchased the 2000 Battery, Dongle for App, and mounting kit, but even though I will have the app Dongle, I decided I would rather have the 800W solar input than watch the app during charging, though I have found it helpful not to constantly go outside to monitor my charging progress. I appreciate your feedback.
The buddy heater recommends fresh air vent when using indoors, fyi.
Yes it does which is why I don’t recommend using it indoors. Thanks for watching!
Would be nice if the cord was longer by 2 feet and a side style plug like APC does.
Great idea!
My gets warm on the top. That’s only with a small printer hooked up 1 watt out 2 watts in. Printer not running just on stand by. Is that normal or a fire 🔥 hazard in the making?
That’s normal for it to get warm even with limited power going through it. Thanks for watching!
@@theresatrickforthat Now it’s warm for a couple days it’s releasing a warm electronics smell . Kind odd since there’s no more than 1 watt being taken.
Do your research, this DJI is just not as good many other power stations
I’m always open to hearing new ideas and information, so thanks for sharing and for watching!
Maybe for your needs… but suits us DJI drone flyers just fine
That is a nice looking unit I'll give you that and this was a great review but I like my power stations to already be put together all in one I don't like to be nickel and dimed to death for accessories, when I want it I just want it to work, my Growatt is always ready to go and for $800 I get 2048Wh LifePO4 Battery, 2200W with 3400W peak AC Output for Home Use, for solar I can use 800 watts at 12 to 100 volts and that's already built in I don't have to buy a separate module for it, I will take simplicity any day. 😎😎 By the way don't sell your grandparents short they can run those apps with no problem when we were young and had computers we had to write programs to use them in c basic there was no such thing as windows, most of the time it's not that your grandparents don't understand the apps it's that they don't want to have to mess with them LOL I bet I'm as old as your grandparents and I love apps for my power stations.😎😎
Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch! Hats off to you more seasoned in life people! ;)
I have solar already but go over and owe a electric bill in the summer. Would love to power it with an off grid solar system but what about nighttime. No way could the solar company know about this!
You might want to look into a battery bank to handle those nighttime hours! I’ve got a new version of this that I will be releasing in a video about in the spring that integrates cheap LiFePO4 12V batteries to help when the sun isn’t out! So be sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss that when it drops! Thanks for watching!
Seems super powerful but they missed the boat on solar recharging. I understand no one has higher inputs and shorter recharge time, but without solar and requiring all the extra dongles, it doesnt make it as useful for the general public. That car charger is amazing but at $300, its crazy expensive.
I agree. I hope that is their next area of innovation. Improving solar charging capabilities! Thanks for watching!
It can take in 800w of solar with two mppt’s As for useful… speak for yourself. I find it very suited to my needs
To your point at the end, DJI requires too many dongles now to keep up with the competition. This is how they stop innovating and “micro transaction” their users. Better options out there at this price point.
Yep! That’s why I would like to see a “hub” that has all of the functionality of all the dongles built into it that connects via the SDC cable. That way I just have one hub that lets me plug whatever I want in. They could still sell all the dongles separately…but for power users like you and I, it would be great to buy a small add on box and be able to max out the solar, expansion batteries, car charging, etc.
@@theresatrickforthator better yet build the control systems into the battery like their competitors, 🤷🏾
Yes, once you add one MPPT solar charger along with the app dongle, you have run out of ports to add anything else. I realize the car charger plug in is temporary while in the car. But to add another MPPT box, you'll need to remove the app dongle, which defeats having it. The Jackery and Ecoflow have everything except the car charger built in for the price. I have all three, and the Ecoflow delta 2 comes out on top. Then the Jackery. The DJI would be #1 if it was all built-in.
I’d be happy with the hand truck back up, this is some power plant status ❤
It is awesome! Thanks for watching!

Is it hard to change the jets when switching between fuel sources?
No. It’s quite easy. I wouldn’t want to do it all the time…but it’s not too bad!
Great video. My Delta 2 is getting delivered in a couple days. Would love to get your take on the DC to DC chargers available from Eco and Bluetti and specifically if they can charge other brands of power stations. I went with the Delta 2 because of their ecosystem and available accessories and expansion capabilities. I'll be carrying it in my Class A motorhome and will probably add the charger to take advantage of the alternator when driving. Thanks for the comparison!
If you have a Delta 2…then the EcoFlow DC to DC charger is the way to go. I’m supposed to get the Bluetti one in the coming weeks to test. But I haven’t tested it yet. I have the EcoFlow one and it’s awesome! I also just got DJI’s brand new DC to DC charger. It’s the king of speed since it will do 1000 watts. Thanks for watching!
US only...
Maybe they’ll expand to international markets in the future. Thanks for watching!
I have the same furnace as you and just received my EZ Generator Switch. I plan on replacing my my switch with the EZ just like your setup and will be using the Delta 2 Max for power. I’ve looked at the directions for removing the three white wires for a floating neutral, but I’m one of those visual guys. Is there anyway I could see how you wired your setup inside the switch? It would mean a lot and give me peace of mind since yours works so well…
Here’s the issue. I am not a licensed electrician so I really shouldn’t show how to wire stuff. Their instructions are pretty clear and easy to understand. Just be sure to wire it up so the EZ Generator switch passes the ground neutral bond from your main power panel through since the Delta 2 Max is floating neutral only…and the furnace won’t run without that bond. Thanks for watching
@ I completely understand. Just installed it with the three neutrals connected and it’s working great 😜👍 It because of guys like you, that give folks the motivation to try some things on their own. Thank you so much for posting…
Thank you, sir, you're right nobody else is testing power stations like this. If I could give you two likes I would.
Haha! You’re awesome! Thank you so much!
does the solar panel enough to keep the battery up? how did it go for long term?
Still going strong! Haven’t had any issues with it yet. Stays charged well in winter! But I do have the solar panel facing the south. Thanks for watching!
Sorry, but for 7+ years I've been providing power for a fridge, a freezer and the blower on the central heat during power outages from a 12 volt battery bank and the wiring I see on the battery at 1:50 in will NOT power any fridge from that battery. My first guess is that you have some misinformation or misunderstanding about how your "powerbox" or "solar generator" or whatever label that "box with a battery and an inverter" has, actually works. I did NOT watch the rest of the video because you lost my trust in the first two minutes.
Do you know how the DC inputs work on those power stations? The power station is what’s running the fridge… And the lithium iron phosphate battery is simply recharging the power station. Thanks for watching!
230V model?
I’m not aware of one. Thanks for watching!
I will say this once only once t&ere is not enough power coming from the panels to power the AC system this is a fraud A lie you can not power that system on the panels you are using, an this is true it takes more then you are putting out to charge the system ratings you are looking for ,people its simple do the math an do not try this or you will destroy your AC system, do to the system of coming on an off it will burn out your invert in the system that is not sufficient sufficient
Did you watch the whole video to see how the grid power assists the solar? Thanks for watching in any case!
I've always been nervous about cheap lithium batteries. In my RC flying days I had a couple of "Chinesium" lithium polymer battery packs go into thermal runaway when being ran BELOW their advertised constant load limit, and never anywhere near their advertised peak ratings. They went off like fireworks, jetting flames out the end ! I had a cheap 18650 pack vent flames too. That one was in a powered RC glider that was about 300 feet up at the time. I didn't even get enough warning to react with that one before the battery pack had torched the foam fuselage enough for the thing to just come apart in the air. That flight went from "All's fine" to "oh s**t" quicker than you could say "Hey...... Is that thing leaving a smoke trail?". 😏 I've yet to have any name brand lithium polymer or lithium iron batteries end in flames when they've been identifiable cells bought from established retailers who have a serious amount of reputation to lose if they sold junk. Some good quality polymer packs have puffed up slightly due to abuse (like charging while they're still pretty warm from just being in use, leaving them fully charged for extended periods of time, or absent mindedly charging them at an excessively high rate due to not double checking charger settings) and subsequently they were removed from service (Via a garden waste incinerator bin ! 😁), but none of the decent batteries have ever unexpectedly started venting. Generally, lithium batteries are great until they either get so "Worn out" that they won't hold enough charge or kick out enough amps to be useful anymore........ Or until they get described as "the source of ignition" on a fire investigators assessment form. The large majority of lithium batteries end in the first way, but the odds of them going the second way go up dramatically when the battery in question is an "Off brand" item from a company with unknown quality control, or one who may be wildly optimistic when it comes to publishing the items specifications. So like safety equipment, I'd say that lithium based batteries are also something that you DON'T buy based on price alone.
Great insights! Thanks for watching!
maybe i'll buy this powerstation. but im saving something bigger than this which is going to be most likely going to be like a 2000 dollar powerstation at least or something like that. or a solar panel!
Sounds great! It’s nice to have a couple of sizes to pick from. Thanks for watching!
Why do people make videos to scam others? The air conditioner runs on 220-240 volts and the inverter only outputs 110-120 volts. I just saw two wires, one black and one white. Also, the circuit breaker that appears in the video that you already removed when you turned on the air conditioner is not outside, which means you already reinstalled it and are running the unit on your house current. People who don't know about electricity may believe the video but those of us who know about electricity know that it's a scam.
Ummmm. You may want to look at the voltage specs on those inverters and check it against your comment here. As far as the color of wires goes, you’re right, a white wire should not carry current typically. But I wasn’t going to go drop a lot of money on the right colored wire when I had excess available and it still works great! I’ll just color the ends of the white wires with red sharpie! That’ll make it better! You also didn’t seem to watch the full video when I was taking different amp readings showing what power I was offsetting. In any case, I appreciate any and all views from normal people as well as keyboard warriors like yourself! Happy New Year!
Using the "Generator" with the Battery is NOT AN HONEST TEST! Now if the generator batter was completely dead, MAYBE! However, with the Generator in play, IT Might have a residual charge in it which WILL skew your results. You need to use a standalone Inverter to run the Fridge to get accurate numbers.
You apparently didn’t listen to the part in the video where I explain why I use the power station in the middle. Thanks for watching!
Those Makita batteries are expensive and have much more limited life cycles than Lifepo4, just get a Lifepo4 battery and if you need faster charge rate a 95% efficient dc to dc boost converter. Far far more cost effective. Save the Makita for the tools they were intended. Unless you hardly use them (which it looks like) and they will deplete over time any way.
It’s a great last resort backup or portable solution. But definitely not budget friendly unless you have a bunch of the tool batteries like me anyway. Thanks for watching!
Those mini's would be perfect for kayak trolling motors !
Yes they would! Thanks for watching!
Excellent. I appreciate all the real-world tests. Gives me the confidence I need to make my first LiFePO4 purchase. I'm considering the Power Queen Group 24 battery with Bluetooth. I'm not sure why anyone would buy the Group 31 considering it's 2.8 inches longer.
I'm glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching!
Does this mini battery use Pouch cells or Prismatic cells?
Prismatic cells. Thanks for watching!
I do like the smaller form factor. Two problems, however. The link, at least where it points for me (amaz ca) it's the often "currently unavailable. We don't know when or if.. .yada yada..." Secondly it didn't auto shutdown when over 100A ish. Sure, one can put a resettable breaker and as I type this, I realize that's probably just a good idea in any case. I just checked them out and they are not expensive at all. It's just personally, I'd rather have a unit that, if it claims to have over amp protection, that it would work. If that is a failure, one can not trust that something else might be wrong. I wouldn't mind seeing a video on a tear down of this brand/model to see the build quickly inside and if the charge/controller is any good.
Great thoughts and ideas! Thanks for watching!
wow that is one big ext cord. how much did you take into account for because that several extra feet will effect things? also in the real world you would want several of those batteries to think of using it full time. also at least 1600 watts of solar... for just the full size fridge.
It’s my favorite extension cord! It can handle anything! Thanks for your thoughts and ideas and for watching!
@stormtrooper88 The consumption of the cable is added to the consumption of the air conditioner plus the losses of the big inverter, so the reading on the app already accounts for all that. The loss in a cable depends on the size (gauge) of the wire and the length of the cable. The loss in the extension cable is negligible as long as the copper is thick enough. The big fat cable is probably a 10AWG, 30A cable or bigger. I estimate the losses in the inverter to be 30W, so that the losses in the cable + the airconditioner is 642-30 = 612W. The resistance of the cable can be found online, so that, say, 50ft of cable is 0.052 Ω. From this the cable is only using about 1.35W, which is quite small. There is also a yellow extension cord, the losses are a higher, but like I said it is added already in the reading on the app.
Good vid
Thanks for watching!
1:23 Clarify "VENT" propane, because that's not really a valid interpretation, IMHO
If vent is the wrong word…how would you define what happens when the propane bottle builds up too much pressure and the relief valve opens and discharges gas to relieve the pressure? To me that is called venting. Thanks for watching!
@theresatrickforthat That is called a pop off valve, it ONLY pops off at 250 psi period it does NOT vent. Venting is what the stacks on your roof do to allow your toilet to flush properly. A pop off is ONLY used to prevent a catastrophic failure of the vessel
same! got mine for $379 - $30 gift card from amazon. just need to buy more drones lol
Fantastic! You’re going to love it! Thanks for watching!
