That one episode where Cat shallowed Jade’s key like how a literal baby would even made me so uncomfortable as kid. And I was a pretty damn oblivious kid.

This actually is very similar to real life. I went to middle and high school with this kid who was over actively hyper and loud and generally disruptive. Then one day dude came back to school super mellow like half his life force was shackled by medication. I’m positive that’s not what creep schneider wanted to convey but that’s definitely my head canon. Cat more at home than at school was a generally disruptive kid and probably drove her parents crazy. They had her looked at and medicated.

I always noticed I just figured it was because she was trying not to keep the full same character going through the show she is an extremely phenomenal actress 😍 can't and singer 😍

Who is "we," lol jk. But season 1 Cat was an icon for the girlies who were just a little weird and is about to realize, for the first time, that their family is not normal. Seriously, I was just like that & now I'm a teacher. And I still see kids who are just like that 😂

My canon is what someone said. Basically the theory goes like this, Cat’s family especially her brother is weird, there’s so,e weird stuff happening and mentally she regresses to protect herself.

It seems like this character bled into real life. The high voice she used during the show she still uses it to this day, and i remember her and big Sean having arguments about her talking in the voice.

I noticed and was like why did her character change especially in sam and cat just like gibby in icarly he was actually smart and was even gonna fight freddy then the last seasons hes like “whats an orange fruit”

She was in an accident, she fell through the ice. She was dead a full 2 minutes before they revived her. 😢 sadly she was never the same.

I noticed immediately. She first acted like that one girl from that one Amanda Show skit Moodys point, but then in season 2, she became childish and stupid.

As someone who has never watched the show, I would definitely prefer the season 1 Kat. The forced high pitched breathy voice is super gross to me.

Seems like some kind of mental abuse or something. “What’s that suppose to mean” could be due to her constantly being put down at home. Idk but it’s definitely a drastic change and I didn’t even realize it until now. In the beginning she seems more smarter, level headed, and “normal” but then we see her be this shy, “dumb”, sweet girl. I think Dan was projecting that fantasy onto her and it’s for the show but it’s also to see his fetish come to life and onto the big screen.

the crazy part is that ariana seemingly doesn’t even talk like season 1 cat anymore. every interview i see now she sounds like current cat. but yes i remember cat being more regular and not just a cutesy dumb side character

I KNEW I disliked the show as it went on for a reason. OG Kat was so great and someone I could relate to, seeing what they did with her as a kid made me feel dumb for ever relating to her. Maybe that (plus all the fucking cheating scandals) is why I never can like Ariana lol

Yall do realize that she didn’t write or make the script? She literally played the character that was given to her so if they wanted her to become dumb and childish, then she had to play that role. Definitely wasn’t her idea to behave like that, that’d be creepy ass Dan Schneider
