This plane is owned and piloted by Terry Foote. It was built by the late Herb Brown from Alvin Texas. These flights were on June 19th at Tri-County Barnstormers club.

I got me a bird of time from the same guy at my Fly Baby. Only had to add servos and change the ESC. Plus a receiver. Look like it will fly fine on a 3s.

Picked up another second hand airplane. This one was expertly built in the 1980s. I replaced the servos with HiTec HS-645MGs, new batteries and a Spektrum AR-8360T.

Club member brought me this thing and I got her running again. I’m bummed I forgot to get someone to film the flight. But it was fun, and I have found that I really like to bring back the older glow and gas models.

Got this plane from a club member, Jim, and I’m the third or fourth owner. It has a Husqvarna chainsaw sleeve on it and that is how I found a replacement carb. It’s a 72cc two stroke. Has Futaba servos but I plane to swap them out for HiTec metal gear versions. 755s or 7955s.

I got this Cub in a bundle deal and it had a tired .46 on it that could barely keep it in the sky. So I changed it out for a Saito 72 and then later a Saito 82. On this day I had also upgraded to Robart landing gear. This was becoming my favorite plane in my hangar.

Another second hand model I got for a really good price. I cleaned the carb and tank. Added new fuel line and a glow plug. Got her in CG with the battery and we are off!!

Limon - was at the field when I brought out my FreeWing MIG-29. Thanks to him for the footage here. This is my 5th FPV flight. It is an Eflite Commander with a Spektrum 8 channel RX and a Spektrum NX10 TX. It has a Caddx Air unit micro, Matek F7 FC for INAV and OSD. with GPS. I use a Tally-ho head tracker as well.

We won the people’s choice award at the SPARKS 3rd annual Vintage RC Fly in 2023. Then we won my clubs Model of the month award!!! This model is one of several models I got from his son Dallas. I hope get a few more brought back to life soon.

@@MarkSmith-nw4os No lead in the nose. I did move the battery forward to be right behind the fuel tank.
Very nice... the model, the flying and the videoing. Can a pilot be added to the back cockpit or is the scale too hard to match with a pilot?
@@BillKisel probably could but the build did not have a floor in the cockpit

У меня была такая птица на 1600 мм. Как только вы правильно выставите центр тяжести (когда планер летит ровно без двигателя), тогда вы поймаете кайф от полета. Не бойтесь набирать высоты эта птица высокого полета. И тогда посадка для вас не составит труда даже без FLAPS. Жаль что она из бальзы её очень легко сломать.
It is a glider, motor is used only to gain altitude and then enjoy catching thermals. Trim the glider to fly level with the motor off. A good way to set the correct CG on a glider is to gain altitude, turn off the motor, dive in a 45º angle and let go the elevator stick, if the glider nose goes up it is nose heavy and if the nose goes down it is tail heavy. I know that this sounds as the opposite but it is correct. This happens because the trim int he elevator has to compensate for the incorrect CG.
Sounds right to me. I’ll give it a try.
I would put some air brakes in the wings. They will slow it down tremendously for easier landings. I installed mine right behind the top spar

I have the Seagull models Spacewalker 46 with a Saito 62. I have that plane a long time now and its never been crashed and still flys great. Good luck with your Spacewalker. Its a nice flying plane.

Lovely colour scheme, reminds me of a super aeromaster. Happy to see pilots having fun, but those bunnyhops was a tedious affair. Would have been safer to just go for it and get some height. Seems like you really love the glow fuel and the vintage engine...could get big bucks on ebay for that. A nice non 3D flight. Red and yellow are just the colors for me! Cheers.

@@henryairconcepts2999 I haven’t flown the Cougar but have only heard good things about it. I did lean that my CG was just fine on this plane, I just needed a little more expo as I was a bit nervous and twitchy on the thumbs. I have flown this bird a few more times and love the delta wing and high alpha it will do. Much better landings now too. 😁
looks good, never thought to repair one, I crashed mine , but i think it was worse off, broke the fuselage it was a trash bag cleanup 2.5 hp gas 540 edge seagull 70+''? wingspan loved that plane.
all the bits went into a aeroworks, still haven't flown it, assembled it 8 years ago. going to try to fly it this summer, if the stars align

I refuse to fly anything but 4 stroke. If I'm waiting money on glow fuel, best run perfect and sound even better. One thing I never missed from the yesteryear of rc was fighting the cheaper brand motors. O.S. is pretty much it. Old O.S. FPs just ran for ever! Get a nice Satio or O.S. 50 size four stroke. Even a 60 size would work well in that model.

Too bad those guys with all their combined knowledge they coulda figured out that there wasnt enough air cooling in the nose of the plane...Duh
It took them a min, but they did figure it out and provide a file for us to 3d print and add to this thing.

Use your electric planes to practice engine out scenarios. Practice a bunch as that glow will get you one day
@@dustinhiett9594 Thanks for the tips. I saw it hanging from the ceiling at hobby town, it has a os40, servos, tank, no reciever and crusty monokote..I re covered the fuse, the wing is being refinished..sky raider 2 for $ 65..not bad.

Great job! Nice flying. Just got this plane. I have the silver version. It has electric for now but I might replace with Saito 20cc. My hangar 9 Corsair does well with the Saito 20cc
@@mikemetz8016 Satio is always a great choice. I’m running the DLE 20 as that’s what it came with. Good luck on the conversion if you go that route.

Based on the wing caps I think it was a Hobbico Avistar 40. but who knows many kits of this style seem to be almost the same.
