냅다 쎅스 외치는게 개웃기네ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Are you ok ?
Mine does do that at all.
Which is better, This or the troodon??
How is the action compared to the Ultratech?
Which would you choose between the X or Colossus, and why?
I am writing a complete mea culpa - I posted way back on this video that I like the Glykon but the rest of Microtech’s OTF’s look like gas station knives - I was completely wrong. I bought an Ultratech and immediately fell in love with it to the point that Microtech is above my beloved Medfords and Chris Reeve knives. The torture tests tell you all you need to know and since my first, I now have 4 Tanto Ultratech’s, 2 Cypher II’s, a Merlot Combat Troodon Warhound, a Gen III Troodon, a Socom Elite Auto, a last gen LUDT and a Gen III LUDT and have a Glykon in transit. Microtech offers multiple blade styles, added titanium in the Glykon, the new natural clear finish, and I am completely blown away - I assumed because I live in PA and couldn’t have an auto buy as soon as it was legal I got one and I was 1000% wrong, Microtech is a really phenomenal company with equally phenomenal knives!
Awesome video! Have 2 of the full size Adamas, one in FDE and the other in black and gray, the other two are mini's. So far no lock rock on any of my Adamas. Thanks for sharing!
The gimping is there because that contact points for the inside of a human hand.
What type/size bolt is used to hold the deployment button to the internal slider? @5:44
ANSWERED - For anyone seeing this comment later, it's a Torx 8 (T8) bolt.
Literally the clone in my hand doesn’t rattle at all when closed or open 😮 wtf
Reading the law, my understanding is that you can open carry without the intent of harming someone
Awesome video! I just subscribed.
Maybe add a bit of thick grease on that part and it should stop it from rattling.
but what if the knife is for a collection, then would it be legal since its a part of a collection?
Excellent work showing how the OTF works, thank you.
I like the design but I want that knife same design But I Want that knife to be bigger and more Heavy Duty. Tougher thicker longer 12 inch long handle and 11 -1/2 inch long diamond blade...
It's not even in the same class as Microtech.
Too big for EDC? You must wear them hipster skinny jeans lol
I'll buy your knife
It works by something called inertia
Is that a fake
This vid is by far the best OTF teardown and demo of function which I’ve seen on YT. I’ve owned a few OTF’s and have already disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, so I understand the machine. However, I can’t currently take my Delta apart, (because proprietary hardware), so I really appreciate your choice of that particular model here! 🤠👍
Just tighten the t12 screw
I’m just glad Pennsylvania decriminalized all blades. I got a Reate Exo OG last month and I’ve been getting some autos
Great explanation. Engineering marvel
Oh my gosh, my daughter bought herself an expensive switchblade at the mall that she’s in love with. I’ve never had one and was playing around with it and it stopped working. I thought I broke it and she was going to be so upset with me and I’d have to pay to get it fixed. Then I thought maybe if I watch a video on how they work I can take it apart and fix it myself. So I was watching this and figured it out. I pulled the blade out all the way and the mechanism snapped back into place. Now it’s working fine, I didn’t need to take it apart. I feel like an idiot, but oh the relief and now I know how these things work. Thank you! I’m going look like a genius when she inevitably does the same thing and thinks she broke it, just to have me take it and fix it no problem. Lol
You can just snap your wrist and the centripetal force will click most OTFs back onto the track
Nicely explained. Always wanted to know how it works. Thanks!
When you’re talking about the E and it having the best blade-to-handle ratio or whatever, you’re actually holding and talking about the S. Correct? 2:49
I just got a Chinese Glykon and its one of the high end fakes lmfao !!! There is no rattle whatsoever open or closed !!! $60 lol
You should have put a small dab of white lithium grease on the spring center to keep it from twanging when opening and closing. 👍🤠
About 5:00 I've got it in my mind XD
I have one and it doesn't make a sound.
Mine has the sound. I have a Deadlock too tho and it has a sound. Different but a sound none the less!
First OTF purchase. Would you rank these from best to worst? I'm not sure which to get. Glycon, Manticore, Scout, Autocrat.
First video I've seen with that defect so you're correct towards the end in suspecting it was perhaps just your item. They do have a nice lifetime warranty for anomalies such as this, but it doesn't come with clicks. Update us after you get it back from them?
Come on, only a white man would dare name something that small "Colossus."
Is your channel a play on the book “oh, the places you’ll go!”? Nice review - I’m trying to decide on an OTF and the good ones ain’t cheap!
Mine rattles worse than yours, i just emailed bladehq, well see what they decide to do. Build date one mine is 06/2023
Excellent video. Sort of like a short stroke gas piston system works on an automatic firearm.
The slides are "painful"? 😂 Tell me youve never worked a day in your life without saying those words....
How much for your glykon?
Great video man, very informative. I just ordered this same knife and I know there's no way I'll be able to rely on Microtech's customer service alone, so it's good to see what I'll be getting into if/when I need to repair it.
Mine does not rattle. And I’ve been fidgeting with it for quite a while. This is the most solid OTF I have ever had.
Apparently, according to microtech, and everyone I’ve ever read about their OTF knives… slight Blade play, and button wobble are considered normal and intentional for operational purposes. I have no idea if this is verifiable on our end or an appropriate statement. But at least they have responded to these concerns. They say that it is normal for operation because it helps it become more reliable on deployment. I read somewhere that one person broke down as to Why this was the case by saying “if it was completely rocksolid, it wouldn’t always fire accurately and lock up and could compromise. It’s reliability” Again, I have no way to verify these claims. But it did calm me down a bit because the only reason why I had a problem with the wobble and the noise is because I thought it wasn’t normal, and felt that it should be rocksolid. If it’s intentional and is for the betterment of the use of the knife, I’m OK with it. My main problem with this knife is that the side buttons are completely useless when trying to fire the knife. When looking at this knife and understanding that they put three points of contact for the actuator… One would think that you could use any side of the knife to deploy it. This isn’t the case in my Experience. I’ve tried multiple times to deploy the blade by just using one of the side buttons and it does not work. You need apply constant pressure down the middle of the spine of the actuator. In other words, you need to hit the center slide on the spine to activate it. You can’t even pull it back close with just one of the side buttons. Now, if you put two fingers (one on either side) you can bring it back in. I don’t know if this is a problem with everyone, but this is my only real concern because it seems like it should work from every angle of the side slide buttons. At the end of the day if you’re not happy with it, you’re not happy with it.
My spyderco tenacious seems to stiff to do it😢
It's an entirely new design, particularly with removable side plates. Perhaps they couldn't put a spring into tension the button from the slide but I'll agree that given the dollars spent we should have perfection or darn near near it. Thanks for pointing this out and I found the same thing going on with mine....
Masterfully explained and more importantly.....SHOWN. Thank you.
How many ball bearings are under the switch? Just curious because I watched another video where someone reassembled one and it was only one, which seems like it should be at least 2 to me.
I believe mine had four, though it had slots for 6 I believe. I’ve since sold it. There seems to be some inconsistency with the bearings from what I can gather.
Bionicle knife 🥶
I'd buy one but for that price. Hell nah. Not worth spending hundreds to get arrested when I can get it done for free 👍
