UMDs were a terrible format in objective terms. Slow, noisy, ate up all the battery, too big. all those characteristics made even worse by portability. Cartridges would have been a lot better.

4:25 I mean most people either have DVD player or PS2, so yeah watching movie on the go is the only thing what make UMD Movie last little bit longer at least when you compare PSP size with portable DVD player size back then.

I loved my PSP when i was a kid. i wish i knew where it was now. Dude you should do one on mini disks and there players. Remember when they were cool and the BOOM, mp3 players came out.

Huge fan of the PSP when they came out, and passed that love on to my kid, who "inherited" my psp and started collecting the UMDs. Great video! Love the new series idea!

i swear to god, the ribbon cable on those things are made with evil, is so a bad design, i lost 3 screen replacement of my 3ds trying to replace the shell to a new one hahahaha, that metal piece always cut the cable until the 3rd was the charm

I have a black DSi. You can get in matte or shiny black. I personally have the matte black version.

I have an old black DSI and as far as I can remember, its always been matte.

A glossy Cherry Red and Forest Green DSi were released as a Christmas special in Japan iirc, and as a Mario Party DS combo pack here in the US. Otherwise, most DSi were Matte, with a metal looking dark blue in the States as well. (and as a note for everyone thinking about doing this, it's best to leave the screws with a little slack so you don't overtighten and so you can open it later if there are issues. Screws can get stuck!)

The fact there are 3 games in the Mother series and it gets rep in Smash with Ness and Lucas very much make it a franchise. It's simply a dormant/finished franchise.

Doing modifications to any ds system for me has been unlucky. Caused me many disasters. Seeing other people with the patience to make it all work is inspiring. I have a 3DS XL I would like to attempt a capture card install again, but last time I managed to mess something up horribly, and I had to trash the whole system.
