Sorry I'm late to the party on this. But to this day, I still use my ipod classic on and off. So it was never out of style for me. Don't need a constant connection of internet or some subscription to play and listen to music. My only worry is when the day comes when it can not be saved/no longer works beyond repairs/no easy quick fix to bring it back from the grave. I do the best I can to take care of it for as long as I can. I've had it for 13 years and counting, got it one week before going in for surgery.
