So, here’s the tendency to overdramatize splits not only by the TV announcers but by guys on your bowling league team. On the very first split in this video, a 2-3-7-10, everyone’s all groaning and dramatic and so surprised when Belmo picks it up. Why the surprise? all it is is a light baby split that my grandmother could make. Just boil them down to the lowest denominators and suddenly they’re not all that hard. Most league guys can pick up a baby split, a 5-7 or a 5-10, a washout so why all the fuss when a few other pins are with those? Don’t make them harder than they are.

I had that final split In this video, earlier today. I shoot right handed also, but I have no confidence in myself go for the right side, so I went for the left instead. I blistered the hell out of the left and actually got them to go behind the right side but just could not pick it up.
