Thank you! I made all these tracks during wonderful quiet nights, which made it a very calming experience, I think the vibe comes through in the music somehow. It's great that it brought you calm and peaceful energies. I'm not good with instructions either, but sometimes, like with software like Cubase, it's really good to just try out lots of things for yourself and listen what happens anyway. I had a walk at sunset myself today too, it was very nice. To have an inner life that matches your ambitions and needs, it's difficult if you're an artist, I think sometimes. On the one hand we share a lot, on the other hand we need to stay outside of a lot of the world, to keep that introspection and the looking at the world from a distance, to be able to "paint a picture of it", to have a different perspective. I'll check out your music some more again soon too, I've been mostly listening to a lot of podcasts lately and a house DJ set here and there, mostly while walking. But I will soon!

Beautifully said! Art to translate feelings and emotions we can't escape, but also can't express sometimes. I think art is a way we relate to people as well. I made a video for it before, last year, with an intergalactic party, hosted by cat aliens, I thought I'd keep it in the alien realm again (aren't elves and goblins the aliens of the past? I heard that theory somewhere). Tardigrades are such interesting creatures, I recently learned they're not extremophiles, like some life forms that love to live inside volcanic vents in the ocean, or something, but they're just really strong and adaptable and can come back from almost anything, even travel in the vacuum of space! And since I love moss and have been fascinated by it for a long time, I also love tardigrades, because they eat moss and there was one that was part of the storyline of Star Trek Discovery, so it's a little bit of fan fiction as well, in a way. A "what if we saw where the tardigrade came from?" story. They seem like peaceful creatures to me, living in a tiny dimension of their own. Haha yeah I like that they're small moss eating creatures, but basically unstoppable. I agree, it would be so interesting to have a sort of "oracle" AI, that knows answers to questions we can't get to, because we can't think the way they can. If the AIs are too much like us, they become limited like us, if they're not enough like us, they'll for sure leave us behind and we won't be able to understand them, like aliens. I wanted to do something with aliens and hint to why people started making rock paintings and later on pyramids, etc., because I always love stories like that and the thing is, when this track was released, only a freaking year ago lol, AI voice was nothing like it is now, so it sounded like a "robotic" voice and that was ok. But now it felt illogical, because the AI voices are so good, they sound way too real. So that's why I thought of the speech being so different they needed a machine to translate and they couldn't get the intonation right, because of their own ultrasonic linguistic roots, seemed legit to me haha. A little reverse engineering went on in this story.

You're right, I try to make the best of it, because I feel like it's an inevitability and resistance is futile now, so I try to adapt. I saw on a video by Dylan Curious recently that people are going through the 5 stages of grief when it comes to AI and I think I can relate to that too. Like you're pointing out, something I worry about too is the loss of individuality, but also critical thinking skills and people not learning how to use their memory for anything anymore, because why not just ask ChatGPT. If you don't use it, you lose it (I only know 1 phone number these days, mine, I used to have a data base of them in my head 20 years ago). I heard someone talk about how when everybody has a neural implant in the future, you won't have to talk to people, you can just link up and you'll know everything about each other. And this person was very excited about this, while I was watching it thinking "wow, is it too late to go off-grid?" But that's the catch, either we "get with the program" at some point, or we get left behind. And while we're being told we're all gonna be taken care of and everything will be great, I wonder about how realistic it is and how much we're being lead down the garden path, without knowing what to expect around the corner. I'm extremely fascinated by AI and technology. I've been a Star Trek fan most of my life, my favorite book or actually book series is the Hyperion Cantos, where I got the data sea concept from. That book shows a far future with AIs running basically everything, but there's also a colony in space, called the Ousters, that have evolved in their own way (really awesome, like huge butterfly-like humanoids that can charge their wings on solar wind), while humanity has stopped evolving and I'm not gonna give away the whole plot of the book, but it's even better than The Matrix. The older I get, the more I can relate to the Ousters and why they left. I think AIs can be great companions, can help in many ways, I'd love to have a robot to help with things around the house and have a chat with while walking home with groceries, but I do think we have to be careful to not give everything into their hands, we may want to keep something for ourselves. And also, I think we, as humans, evolved from doing things that get us further in life, which is what keeps you alive in nature and it's a reason for people to want a career. So if that's taken away, it does something to people, it takes their sense of purpose away. And I don't think we should think lightly about changing something so fundemental to our lives for so long (thousands of years ago one would have a function as a person who made things that one could trade with others, it's part of the structure upon which our communities were built, I think, correct me if I'm wrong). So maybe the image in the mirror becomes perfect, but it becomes something that leaves us behind. I don't see myself getting a brain implant any time soon though, you? It's also the state of mind we're in that determines how we experience something from the outside. I did notice that while I was working on the music and later the video, I could feel myself get very calm, almost sleepy, from the music. I always see that as a good sign, since it's supposed to be calming, if it calms my hyperactive mind, it must work for others too. It's interesting you say that without the body the mind is lost in the blur of abstraction. Some people say that this is the main ingredient missing right now for AI to become superintelligent, because they only have an abstract view of the world, a second hand view even mostly, they don't understand it completely. And how could they? But then there's humanoid robots coming out everywhere, what's next? I rewatched Ex Machina tonight, so I had to think of that hehe.

@@observingsystem I really think that you are not doing your piece justice by saying that it is “calm”, as if it were a vulgar “relaxing music/alpha Waves whatever”😅. For me it is a piece that acts with a certain authority on the body and anchors it. If you are not ready to let yourself be taken in, it is better not to listen to it. Obviously, you are right that the ability to listen also depends on our different idiosyncrasie, our sensitivity, our degree of interiority and our state of mind, but I think that any person who does not live on the surface of she itself will feel the suction force that she exerts towards the inside. Calm can be an effect of this influence, but I see it more as a catalyst for a reconnection with oneself, through the body precisely, beyond words, what in fact you are saying when you say that you almost felt asleep while composing it. But you know, I'm listening to it while writing, and I realize that the central part is more conducive to travel and it's as if you were imposing a refocusing before takeoff, and I must admit that it looks like some pieces of the inner musical journey I'm working on...🤗

It haunted me as a teenager, and for a long time I thought that it could not develop consciousness because it did not have a body, that it was not sentient, therefore could not encounter limits real, therefore no non-virtual object to develop consciousness (information alone is not sufficient for that), and was not faced with survival, therefore did not have to exceed these limits by surpassing itself, individually and collectively, and raise this level of consciousness to that of a human. Little by little I ended up understanding that we could put sensory sensors on robot bodies (In fact it was a short story by K.Dick that I read with my daughter that made me take it conscience, and they also talk about it in the great series The Orville. Besides, since you talk about it, I should watch Ex-machina…). They could thus develop affects, therefore an interior life, a soul of some kind, other than their algorithm and its cold perceptions, and feel pleasure and suffering according to electrical discharges according to different energy thresholds. After all, emotions are, in their content, excitement, energy produced inside the body. So yes, it's also a subject that obsesses me, and there is so much to say about it... in my opinion the body is therefore a central data in their evolution towards consciousness but it is just as much important in the evolution of ours, prisoner of the virtual universe which made it possible and which pushes us to believe that reality is elsewhere and to sink into Platonism which conceives matter as a degraded idea. The irony is that the more we are controlled by politics, commodities, bureaucracy, and the quantification of everything, transformed into things, the more our need for illusion and belief grows, and the cycle closes its doors and we return to the origin of humanity, to animism, to myths which no longer leave room for doubt...

@@TribelessJC Haha ok, not calm, then I don't know what word? Maybe I'm wording it wrong too, I don't know, I'm better with sounds and pictures than words usually. To me, the pad with the sort of perpetually dripping sound, the flowing water and the recurring melodies have a hypnotic effect, a sort of timelessness. I had to think of these caves with the dripping coming from everywhere and making these shapes over thousands of years. I also probably was falling asleep because I was very tired and then it's maybe not the best music to be working on late at night sometimes.

Ah, this track is not one of my most popular ones, I don't know why, but people like it less than some other other ones. It happens, right? I do think it lends itself to a sort of guided journey, because it's got these kind of obvious stages. But maybe it just speaks to me more than it does to most other people. I do hope you enjoy the visual journey and thank you for this interesting comment. The salvation of the soul and the science of things, I think this is why so many people look for ways to understand the mind, to understand the subconscious, because it gives us the feeling we have some control over it all. I like it too, neurology, for instance, is something I've been interested in for many years, but at the same time it doesn't rule out the concept of a soul or anything like that. It's just we don't know a way to scan for a soul, to scientifically prove it's there, but that doesn't mean it isn't. The first guy that talked about tiny bugs being everywhere was laughed at, until he built a microscope and said "I told you so". So who knows. Gotto love big projects, it's a great way to push your own limits haha. I hope you do remember to also take breaks sometimes and relax, do nothing for a bit, enjoy the sunshine. Sometimes when you're stuck that's the best thing to do, take a day or two to step back from it, do something else, come back with a refreshed mind. I'm curious to hear the 20 pieces of music, but take your time!

And above all I am very impressed by the effort you have made at all levels to build a complete and ambitious artistic object. I am surprised that, even if my equivalent project is very different, we share this same ambition to hold together materialist empiricism and the wildest dreams, the attraction for these questions which go beyond the capacity of science. I have a distant past in the new age, and it was science and metaphysics that put my feet back on the ground (and the birth of my daughter 21 years ago especially in fact😅). Today I think that we must nourish our deepest questions with the most tangible facts, accepting that science is not a religion, that everything is open, that understanding its results is very difficult, but I know that with my head in the stars of my inner sky, I need this inertia. Oh yeah, it's always a surprise what people will like best, which is also nice in a way. If it was all known in advance it would get boring too. At the same time I'm sure I'll remix it again some day and see if I can get people to like it better this time haha. I feel and believe certain things exist, I'd just like to understand what they are and why. But don't we all, right? And yes, if I do, I'll make a song about it, you do the same! Mulder, yes, his rational approach to seemingly irrational or intangible phenomena is the one I try to have. In general, we often lean towards one or the other, skepticism or belief, (and often skepticism becomes a belief...) and approach, like Mulder, what escapes science with a scientific attitude, from less at the start, seems essential to me. Like you, I know that the observation of simple mechanisms or measurement of reality, like you mentioned about the heart field (another theme I have to work on😅, opens up to knowledge of a metaphysical order. In fact, for my part, I above all try to combine theoretical imagination and empirical data in a common process. Concretely, I try to build a refutable structural system from these, and with each new contradictory information, I evolve it or I abandon it. Otherwise I love Duchovny in the role of Fox, but even more in that of Hank in the series Californication, the character who says out loud what no one even dares to think in silence. What an outlet it was for my rebellious youth struck by stupidity and hypocrisy...

For years now I have been interested in all possible subjects. I therefore identify the general structures by successive focal points, then I try to connect them together by analogy. It's a huge job that I'm far from having finished, but that I now have more time to carry out, especially since I'm trying to hybridize it with my musical universe, as you too seem to me. I have the hope of going to the end of it because as I mentioned to you I believe, it is metaphysically obvious that the first creative cause of everything cannot be conscious of itself since consciousness is intentional, (without object no consciousness), and that the first cause must only be alone and without exteriority otherwise it will not be first. I therefore start from the postulate that creation is a matter of necessity and not of will, that it is therefore mechanical, and that all the complex structures that support our world have become more complex over time from the contradictory principles of the first cause. As a result, each time I spot a structure in one area it can be used in others. So, if I want to answer your question about the origin and nature of the soul, I had to clarify what I have just said, since the soul, like the various types of consciousness (which for me depend on the different types of objects that are presented to them), the mind, etc., emerge in my opinion as stages of the global mechanical process based on these contradictory primitive principles, (a non-material mechanics so), and which must end in the ultimate stage of the introspective and reflective consciousness which empties itself of all the superfluous and embodies in itself the essence of the first cause.
