We're moving from the city to the country. Join along as we turn an abandoned 23 acres of country land into our home. Documenting everything from farming, gardening, home building, tractor work, wood working, saw milling, to discussions about how to live a better life and helping out your community.
061 - How we move our Pigs
Join us and learn how we rotate our pastured pork.
We move the pigs about once a month. This gives them fresh vegetation to consume, and helps clear out our woods.

033 - Bridget's Homestead - What does a 4 year old love about the homestead?
Oooh no he did ent... Broski pull gas tank move the 2 covers, well im doing the starter gear. 2 bolts 1 nut easy peazy...😂
Where are you located. I just bought one. Love it
Screw the hard route how about the smart route
There's often a lot to be learned from the hard route. The smart route comes from years experience. Asking for support helps out a lot. I'd suggest not learning alone, but get guidance from external sources if possible. But you've still gotta start somewhere.
Question: did you have the option of the rear wheel weights? And do the ag tires mess up the grass at all? Looking at getting one of these myself. Also, how often does it regen and have you had any issues with the DPF? Debating on the 25 or 35.
Ag tires never messed up the grass unless I go over the same patch over and over and over again. I've had no issues with the DPF. It rarely has to regen, especially if I keep the rpms up for the PTO, it burns pretty clean. I didn't see any options on rear wheel weights, but filling the tires made such a huge difference.
You need to install grounding lockouts on the pipe nipples between the circuit Breaker panels. How are you sealing around the mounting bolts that screw into the kind droff channel to secure the panels? I have been out of trade for over 25 years now. Former commercial/Residential Electrician and Fire Alarm Systems Tech
At this point I don't remember everything I did. I ended up re-mounting everything and moving it around a bit with a different nipples and all, but the state inspector gave me diagrams of how to ensure everything was right with grounding, etc. at the end of the day it all passed. What's really weird is that in my county, they don't use a weather head on the pipe that goes up the power pole.
How close is the outhouse? Glampooper? Does it flush? How about showers? Hot water? I don’t even see a river to rinse my plastic camping dishes or one spork?
HAHA. No running water yet, it's about 50 feet to the outhouse.
Is it the 36 inch ruler yo have got ?
Yes. 36" version
Wow, I like❤❤❤❤
Can you adjust the orange safety handle so you don't need to hold it out in the forward position and it just stays in forward?
It's a little adjustable. I don't usually have a problem with it.
I seen that red headed feller sneak a sip of milk out a fresh gallon and put it back in the fridge at Kroger in Thompson Station
when someone confronted him and ask him "what do you think you're doing!?" he just responded "milk." and left
well aint that something....
When was this? Unfortunately I'm not surprised.
Sweet tent . You mite want to extend your stove pipe above the ridge line so the smoke will not come in the roof vents.
I have a question! Do you have to clutch to engage your pto? If so does your pto make a ratcheting sound when you lower rpm? Mine is hydrostatic so yours may not need to be clutched
I don't need to clutch... I believe the PTO is hydrostatic on this as well. I don't think it's mechanical.
You want to put up a fire barrier in the back of the stove. (For the lack of a better term.) Protect the tent from burning and reflect the heat.
Reflecting the heat wouldn't be a bad idea, but I've measured the temperature of the fabric and it's only about 95˚ when the stove is going.
I’ve looked at all brands and sizes in compact tractors and for price and not scared where they gonna be in 10 years, I keep coming back to this tractor in shuttle shift
I'm super happy with the mechanical shifting
Chert?
Commonly called flint, chert is a fine-grained, noncrystalline sedimentary rock made up of silicon dioxide (SiO2). It's a very strong base layer and it's cheap enough to build up for foundations. Much cheaper than gravel. We use it a lot here in Tennessee.
It looks like it'll blow away in the first strong wind
It's rated to 150MPH
The log stop safety pin is a pain. Mine fell out 8 or 10 times and I left it out the last time. Everyone hits the log stops so don't worry about it.
Exactly. It's funny really. Might be worth it to make some out of white oak at some point.
I was hoping he would show how he was able to put the bottom bolt back in. It's a hard job to get it started. Thanks for the video.
It was really hard to film this. By the way, the starter has held up well since I replaced it a couple years ago.
In no possible way is this related to camping! Its merely a cottage,,cabin,,house made from canvas.
AKA Glamping. Whatever it is, we're here for it. You should try it out.
Im needin answer bout trackhoe all of my controllers frm back seat to backhoe dosent wrk cld it be fuses
I ask for info bout backhoe i said trackhoe my apologizies meant backhoe
We don't have a backhoe attachment. I'd love to have one, but it's not in the cards for us at the moment.
I know this video is old but I was hoping you might do an update. Maybe explain how you did it and what trouble’s you ran into. How was duckriver to work with?
It turned out that we went through CPWS instead of Duck River. If we were one street over that would be different. Unfortunately they locked the main panel before I could get video. The main issue we ran into was ensuring that we had an unbroken grounding wire bonded to each opening. That took a little work to get through. Also they were picky about which metal conduit to use between the breaker boxes and the meter box.
Dude.... I am almost four minutes into this video and the only thing you have done was play stock footage, say uhhh, and stare off...
Thanks for your patience while I improve my video skillz.
You should disconnect the negative cable not the positive the positive can Arc as long as a negative still hooked up
That's absolutely correct. Always disconnect the negative cable first.
do you regret not getting the M series??
Not at all. I wish I had gotten the 1840, just because it has a heavier duty frame and higher lift capacity. I love the simplicity of the E series.
Not bad for your first install 👍 not bad at all. I’ve been an electrician for 19 years btw. Looks good 👏🏼
Thank you! I learned so much through this process.
I have a 1999 1240 MF ad the only thing I've had to replace other than fluids is tires and a battery.
Too long winded .....I couldn't do it.
Dude. I think you're probably right.
I sold a 400 amp service to a customer, the biggest ive ever done was 200, but im not afraid of a challenge!
It's simple enough. Just bending the wires is the hard part.
The best assembly I've seen yet. Great job guys!!!
Thank you!
Great presentation guys
Thx for sharing
Yooo thanks for floor ideal omg yoo amazing 👏 🤩 😍
Glad you like it!
I moved my rear lights to the inside. I just had to move the left light over to the right inner and the right to the left inner. I'm now less likely to hit tree limbs.
I'm considering that. I don't want to drill more holes into the ROPS though. And I've stayed away from trees for a while now.
You did an amazing job. I would have built a platform to keep it off the ground so when it rain it won't get flooded.
It's not in a flood zone fortunately. It's higher than its surroundings. However I definitely plan on building a platform at some time.
I'm not an electrician, but I think you are suppose to torque the 4-0 down on those lugs??
This is amazing! what is the stove standing on?
amzn.to/3wCh4F7 One of those
Any thoughts on the turbo? Do you think it provides more torque than other 35HP tractors without one?
I've literally never thought about the turbo while driving the tractor. I've also never lacked torque, just traction and lifting power. I also can't find a single chart that states the torque numbers either. I wonder what it does to the torque curve.
Awsome Job .
Thanks!
Nice work on the Panels I am just getting started on my build thank for the good demo
Respect
Good work sir thank you for the video.
That's awesome!
The power company tryna get you struck by lightning
Probably.
🤣
Nice review; Any tractor is better than no tractor, But a M-F tractor = A Mighty-Fine tractor. I own a 1959 M-F 50 gasoline, & a 2018 1526 love them both; They are both hard working tractors. I like all the implements you have for your M-F 1825 E; Nice setup.
Showing the 1" offset zero was helpful - biggest reason I never bought one. Happy milling gobbless
Ram pumps brother
Ram pumps are pretty great.
