Poker Journey
The Natty & Not so Natty reality of being a poker player. All Ins, Bluffs Slow Rolls, Nuts, Punts, Coolers, Bad Beats, and much more!
My name is Matthew Jaramillo. I'm a homeowner, gym owner, and personal trainer. I was a Division I athlete at NMSU. I've played football since I was 10 years old. I turned 30 years of age in June and wanted to take on the challenge of starting something NEW(poker vlog channel). I've been playing poker for over 10 years. So hopefully, you all can learn from my experiences the ups and downs (natty or not) of what the game of poker really looks like.

Telling the Table My Hand & They Don't Believe ME....
You need to read "the mental game of poker"
Love your mouse so cute
ez call with no heart
nah he’s snap calling anything, only way he’s getting away is vs a check raise
I've never seen so many NITs and OMCs than when I played at bellagio this October. I lost 1300 at the 1/3 game. Everyone was limping and calling my open, no one checks to the aggressor. I remember I lost an all in after I raised pre after the guy to my right limped and then called my raise, I hit top pair on th flop (K,J) and we get it all in on the river and he's check calling the whole way, only to end up with A,K. Wtf... and that was every hand. It was playing bingo not poker
@@Vikingguy187 Nothing compares to the one video I have at the MGM Grand. That was straight bingo. It's an hr long but if u have time check it out
Sounds like someone wants to get in to coaching vs playing. How about just shutting up at the table and let other play the way they want. You play your way they will play theirs. Stop trying to educate everyone. People who do talk strategies and gto stuff at the table sound like POS
Was at the Aria at the same time. Dang I wish I would have seen ya. Good time there
I just wanted to share my incredible experience with Shellane Maxwell who helped me navigate the world of crypto currency,, thanks to her guidance, I’ve made enough money to significantly boost my finances, Their insights and support were invaluable and I am so grateful for the opportunity, Highly recommend connecting with her if you are interested in making profits in crypto
She mostly interacts on Telegrams, using her name.
@shellanemaxwell she is verified
Oh, do you happen to know her too? I'm proud to say I've also benefited from her platform
Archieving a weekly profit of 45k
I am surprise to come across her here I have been following her guidance, my initial investment of $2,000 in Bitcoin grew to $10,000 less than a week, a 400% increase!…
The King 🦁
Who the hell are you to tell other players how they should play their hands? Seriously STFU. You ain't even that good. Donk betting can be fine. flatting AK otb to a 3 bet can be fine.
Should have followed your own advice in the AJ hand. Raise pre flop and get the garbage out and you win.
@@MrWs8791 I tried it all. Was running out of ways to win. Either way he sees a flop the hand plays the same
UTG min open is GTO approved man, your opening sizes should scale based on your position for a few reasons, like; the more people behind the more likely you’re playing a pot oop meaning you’ll want to keep the pot smaller, and the more likely you are to be 3b squeezed out so investing the minimum loses you less money when this happens
@Awre18 I think it should be a bigger open size in UTG if u min open. every1 is gonna call and limp along for so little. If u make it bigger 3 or 4x, then it is less likely to go multi way. It's easier to play against 1 opponent rather than multiple.
1-3 players do not care and do not know much, which is typically beyond your power to save
@Timwangmusic I'm a nice guy. I like to help people out
Keep your mouth shut. Period. Why would you want your competitors to be better? Ever? You aren’t playing for fun, but for profit.
100bb max at a lot of places plays very nitty in my experience. Either that or kamikaze complete opposite
Cool cool
Leads used properly can throw off your opponent and get more value if used properly, especially if they have big leaks in their game. Im not sure where you heard from “pro players” that you should ALWAYS check in flow. It seems to scramble your brain every time someone does it to you, so clearly its effective at making you think harder and not using the same script for poker that you want to use
@iGioneo4 99 times out 100 ya check-in flow. Heard from many pros or vloggers. I think I've lead out 2 times in all my videos that I've done. Once at Talking Stick in Scottsdale and one the last video actually
@ ive heard pros saying theyre checking in flow, but never used it as a hard rule for their viewers to follow. Any board that you would check as the pre flop aggresor is a board you can theoretically lead as the preflop caller. Its just a very aggresive play that leads to higher variance so most players arent willing to do it, and based on the type of player you are, in the long run it could be not worth it (if you tilt easily and cant handle variance). To be fair, the type of people watching these vlogs probably wont correctly use a lead and probably should advise against it, but just to say 99/100 you shouldn’t lead and making it seem like that is solved poker I believe is clearly wrong
@iGioneo4 if they do it enough. It just seems like an unspoken rule. If u watch them and they check in flow. Like watching live streams, u watch and see them check in flow to check to the 3 or 4 better etc
@@GainzPoker i wouldnt say its an unwritten rule, its just one of the hardest parts about poker. Just like having overbets and less than 10% pot bets. If you look at a solver its going to want you to do these a fair bit of the time, but in real life you simply dont see it, especially in the stakes you normally play. Its more of that its a concept that unless youve done a lot of studying and can apply it correctly, ends up making you more spewy and ends up losing you more money rather than just always “checking in flow”
You can be the greatest player on earth but still get wrecked by a degen donkey. Sometimes they throw every right move you make out the window by getting lucky or sticky
I think you are far too preoccupied with how the game is “supposed to be played” when you should be focused on exploiting these players for their face up tendencies. There is no way “you’re supposed to play”. There is what is in style right now and what GTO says. GTO does have some donking as well. Check in flow is just in style right now. There are many ways to play this game and unorthodox styles can be very profitable. I think you should quit thinking so one dimensionally. Lastly, nobody likes the person at the table who wants to tell everyone else how to play. Very annoying. Just take that info, store it for later and use it against him. Don’t berate people. Saying “watch one of my videos” makes you sound like an insufferable know it all. Hope the next session goes better.
Just got back from Vegas and I forgot how tight and nitty the games play. It’s almost cringe how tight they are. Even when they flops monsters …. Check, check. It’s like I’d rather play a slot machine
What a complainer!!
Calling a guy a Nit because you lost? Nice. "No one wants to give me their money! What a bunch of Nits!"
Even tho behind on the last hand, you were ahead?
no offense - it's annoying when another player tells others how to play. it's not helping, it's annoying.
But it makes great drama 😂
@MAK0517 even tho it's correct. Or at least that's what the pros say.
Spend the entire vlog talking about how bad the other players are yet u lose all ur money 😂😂😂
Sometimes you just don't get the cards.
@DoreenJaramillo-u6f agreed but he punted several times the issue to me is he wanna play for 7 or 8 hrs win a quick 2k and head home that's y he was looking for other bad players like himself these new RUclipsrs using GTO make videos this guy is entertaining I give u that but unless he learn defense he will continue to punt having 1 wen and 4 loses isn't gonna bring positive cash flow don't just GTO use ur own style I learned that bs only because every player under 30 lives and dies by it so like every over 50 wannabe pro at my casino we pray on them set traps for them idk ijs it's so easy it seems this young new players are worst than the drunk once a yr at a convention just wanna have fun players god knows they punt more than the drunks
@@RoeRobinson-c7e Playing 7 or 8 hours and making 2K sounds like a great deal to me.
@DoreenJaramillo-u6f that never happens in 1 3 shidd that don't happen in 2 5 it takes 12 to 14 hrs I usually go from Thursday thru Sunday 3pm till well after midnight there's a reason they call it a grind
Never heard so much grumbling on a vlog. You're a bitch!
you saved a lot of money in your first hand. if the player wasn't a nit you could have lost your shirt. stop whining about the nits.
@MAK0517 exactly could have lost a lot more. If the players would have taken my advice. I'm trying to help. Yes I wamna win too but it's more fun when u win and if more players have fun and win more and become better that's more players who may come across these videos. It's a win win for everyone
People helping people 👍
Love your content
Vegas games are awful, literally avoid poker if you go there
All strat talk should be avoided even when bored makes the game bad talk strat off table. Just my humble opinion keep making good content though best of luck with the channel and poker results.
@levoriocolin7802 wasn't talking strat just poker strategy.
I appreciate it 💪
Best time to play in Vegas is after midnight to 5AM. Too many nits during the day and early evening. It's annoying. My rule of thumb is if there's 2 or more players on the table that are at least 70, I immediately leave the table.
@wizard3117 don't get me wrong I like old people (respect the elders) but i feel u on that
The way you explain your strategy and the other players actions, it helps to understand the entire game on exactly what's going on. Good job 👍😊👍
You have 15 other properties to play on the strip but continue to play in poor games and complain. You should move up in stakes since you’re such a superior player? Would never check in flow to you 😂
@dividendneb not checking in flow saves me money. I appreciate that
8:20 You bet he smooth calls you catch 2 pair he checks you bet again he calls river brick check all in snap call he wins all of it
That's what you get for playing with a bunch of Kamala supporters!
@@BSweetVideos lol nice
Damn, that hurt to watch. Some nights you just gotta chalk it up to poker gods keeping you humble.
Don't hate on the old people 😂😂
Yeah, but older people don't normally play for higher stakes. They tend to hold on to their money.
I like your vlogs but you cry so damn much
@Javier-z9i Builds the drama. People seem to like that more. Take 2 videos, for example. If one is an educational video about poker and the other is a fight, breaks out, or some1 gets scammed. Which gets more views? It sucks that it's that way, but unfortunately, that's the reality...
@ lol! I agree ! It’s all good bro I still enjoy your vlogs ! Keep it up !
@@GainzPokerDefinitely!!! People love the drama. That's why I watch. It makes it interesting.
I was in Vegas that week, too. So glad I avoided Bellagio. Aria had the best action for sure.
Gainz, STOP teaching the fish! I know it is frustrating but their bad play saves you money. Another great Vlog. Hope to see you in Vegas for the WPT.
Helping people lol
U do sound like a dick
Just top up, don't you know you can top up (in my best whiney bitch voice to match)
I think you just need to keep your thoughts to yourself. Who cares if they take the betting lead. It’s 1/3, expect the unexpected. Plus if we all played “the way it’s supposed to be played” poker would be a pretty boring game.
We don’t want you to help players get better. Let them make mistakes and take advantage of it. If they lead a monster and you fold when you’d bluff be grateful. Poker is hard enough as it is now, just wait for them to give their money away like they always do
Why do you talk so much about the opponents' strategy at the table? You are a good enough player that you should just identify these leaks to yourself at the table - and discuss them on the vlog. Instead you seem to get rattled when players don't play as you expect they would given their revealed holdings...
@daniels9775 I'm just trying to help players out in the long run. The more people watch and hear the proper strategies, maybe one day it'll click. Ya, im trying to win, but talking at the table brings up conversations because im also a vlogger on RUclips so bring things up like," ya on my channel I say check in flow all the time". In turn, some1 might ask oh what do u mean channel? then Boom, perhaps a subscriber. Or on the other hand, maybe some1 gets bugged and wants to talk crap on a video. Also helps the channel grow, more engagement. It's not just me saying things like check in flow. I've heard it from many pro players to do the same thing, and it's people like that I've looked up to and follow poker wise.
This will come with experience/age. The last thing you want to do is give advice at the table. Here is what you “accomplish” 1. You embarrass the player, and he gets up with chips to avoid further embarrassment. 2. He listens and plays tighter/locks up the win. Any action player turns over the winner, I say nice hand, even if it’s not against me. I’d rather reinforce the bad play, rather than berate it.
@@GainzPokerSome people appreciate tips. Awesome!!!
@@GainzPokerwhy on earth would you want it to “click” for them? Let them continue playing badly and exploit them. We don’t need more better players. Also, just because a person isn’t playing the way you perceive to be “correct” doesn’t mean they are playing wrong. There are many ways to approach this game and there are plenty of very good pros with unorthodox strategies. If all it takes to put you on tilt is donkimg into a few times then a good player will identify that and exploit it. Food for thought.
I agree, stop telling people how to play. All it does is piss them off or make them better going forward, making the games worse. Plus, there are spots where you don’t always check to the aggressor..so just be polite and take the chips. :)
I think giving lessons at the table is pretty douchey. Makes you look like a dick and why would you want bad players playing better? Just a lose lose.
I see what your problem is, you’re not any good at poker. Follow me for more obvious conclusions.
Lol you must be an OMC. I'm guessing 77 Years old?;)
Lady luck escaped you this time.
