Good production & easy to follow. Thanks, keep up the good work
Thank you for the comment, glad the videos help in some way 😃.
Excellent series! I might have missed something in this video. Why would you increase the main channel USB out by 12db only to reduce it by 12db in the DAW?
Hi, thanks for the feedback :). I didn't realise at the time but when you select +12dB in the main menu it will only add +12dB of gain to the main output and not the individual tracks, because I recorded the song with the individual tracks and the FX routed to the main 1+2, there was a +12db gain on the main output and not the individual tracks, so I had to compensate and turn the main track I recorded (FX's) back down by -12dB. Hope this makes sense?.
Thanks for your content. I don't see the link to your sample pack in this video description as mentioned unless I'm missing something. There is mention of your website but no link to said website.
Hi mate, thanks for the comment I hope the series is of some use to you. I've added a link in the description which will take you directly to the sample pack :).
Very nice video, hope they add that poly track linking option one day :)
Cool videos. I dont have a digitakt.....yet!
Very interesting thanks
No worries, hope the videos help in some way 😃👊
thanks bro!
You're welcome :), I hope you enjoy the kit 👊😃
Super helpful!
Glad it helped in someway 👊😀
Nice work bro. Cant decide to get one yet... 👍
Thanks mate 😃,Yeah It's definitely one of them do I need it or not, There is room for improvement with the device & you could get a lot more out of it, maybe this will be implemented in future updates with the feedback they get. I still love the OG DT though :)
Good stuff! Keep these coming!
A 7-minute intro is way too long.
Hi mate, Yeah I thought that myself, This is the only video with an introduction which is why it is a bit long, I have put time markers if there are parts that you don't find interesting. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it 😃👊
For someone who doesn't have any content contributions to RUclips this is a ridiculous comment.
As someone with years of experience on DT (& always learning new things) this is genuinely one of the best, most easily understandable tutorials I've ever seen! Can't wait to see more from this series!
Hi mate, thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. Hope you get something from the series :). Thanks a lot 😃👊
Whats going on here bro? Is it just the animation? No audio...🤔
Ahh this was just a bit of artwork and animation I did, I was going to put this to some of my music but decided not to in the end ha.
@@j5_music all good. Shitsandgiggles. 😆
@@SpikesStudio3 😂😂😂
Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it helped in some way :)
Very good lesson. Helps to understand how samples files can be easy to move around, export, delete and organize using the Elektron Transfer app.
Glad you've found these videos useful, I appreciate the feedback :).
Again, very helpful and I thank you. While I own the DT2, with your series here I'll be able to get by most confidently. I've subbed and saved your DT playlist to watch (I figure) countless times over. Your attention to detail and confident instruction will be essential to my progress as a beginner to digital music creation.
Ahh nice how are you finding the DT2?. Thanks for the comment too :)
@@j5_music I'm enjoying it! My first Elektron box was the Model : Samples and before I really gained much proficiency, I somehow convinced myself that the Digitakt 2 would be most worth the time investment. I'm new to working with sequencers and digital sounds but have a basic understanding of music theory. My current goal is to understand the midi capabilities of my few devices and how I can get them to work together. I own the DT2, Model : Samples, Modal Cobalt 8 VA synth, Meris Mercury7 Reverb and a guitar with a pickup. Thank you for your guidance in these videos. Your explanations fit well to my current level of understanding and I already feel quicker and more confident at the buttons.
@@crimsonfancy Glad you're enjoying it, you've got a nice set-up there :). Yeah the MIDI can be confusing especially if you are mixing new with oldish hardware, I find the user manuals as you've already done are the best bet but newer devices such as the DT2 allow many more options in terms of the sequencer etc. Really glad you've found the videos useful :)
Hugely helpful! I've read the manuals of both machines I wish to combine, watched so many videos and finally your content shows in my feed today. Thank you so much for breaking down in terminology that I can understand. I can't express how much I appreciate your time in putting this together. /cheers!
Hi, really happy the videos are helping you in some way, I really enjoyed making these vids :)
hi m8 thanks for the video...do you know how to load a single sound onto a pad in a drum rack? it keeps sending me in loops without option to load actual audio :/
HI mate, thanks for the message. I don't think you can do this as of yet in standalone mode, I tend to set my kits up on my computer and then save them to push 3, you may have to save your live set as a template so that the drum kit collects all the samples before moving the kits over to push. Hope that makes sense and hope its what you mean! :)
dude this shit doesn't work
Hi mate, in what way doesn't it work?
@@j5_music he is right. doesn't work when you load it into ableton
@@j5_music 11
@@alexbvndi Hi, what version of Live are you using?, I've added another version to the download which I double-checked worked with LIVE 11.3.21. If you have an earlier version installed then it will not work, you will need to update your Live 11 to the latest version to work.
Thank you❤
You're welcome :)
This video series is fantastic; huge thx for the time and effort you put into these 👏👌
That's nice to hear, thank you for the comment :). I'm glad you find them useful 😃
I am new to creating electronic music and was looking for help routing audio... this video helped me immensely. Thank you!
Hi, glad the video helped you & thank you for the comment. Hope your enjoying making electronic music 😃
Excellent video!
Thank you, I appreciate the comment :)
Hello, is there a way to record the midi sequences too?
Hi, do you mean from the Digitakt to your DAW, If so you would have to set it up on a midi track. For example, if you have track one playing a kick drum sequence you could copy the triggers and place them on a midi track, you would have to enable the midi track and set the channel of that midi track to a number 1-16, you could then go to your DAW then create a midi track and then set the midi track to collect midi date from the Digitakt and select the channel you've placed on the Digitakt, you should then see midi information coming into the DAW. If you don't at this point I would suggest you turn off Overbridge and select MIDI+USB in the setup menu, this will be on the MIDI CONFIG page and then on PORT CONFIG page. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on :)
Whats he track you was playing here?
It's the song I made during the video series, the full song is on Video 11, or you can play it on the website if you haven't had enough of it from watching the videos 😂
Here i am again for a peek at this one... 🤣👍
Haha, top man, really glad there helping :), would love to hear what you've been cooking up! 😃
😘 Promo_SM
Hey is there a way to go midi out into the midi in on the digitakt? Basically plug itself into itself?
Hi, what would you want to achieve by doing this? or what is the desired result you're looking for?
To use the bottom row to ad more samples
@@anthonygrady3733 unfortunately, you cannot add samples to tracks 9 - 16, they basically are for MIDI only. Only tracks 1-8 are for samples. If you look at the screen in the top right when a track is selected you will see that tracks 1-8 will have the track number and an abbreviation SMP, and 9-16 will have MID on it.
@@j5_music ok thanks
@@anthonygrady3733 No worries mate :).
So. There it is. Guess thats a good wrap up. How can i thank you enough for what you have done here. Ive had my dt for a fair few years now and am pretty conversant, i believe, with it. Your course has been a great reminder of basic technique and an openbook in advanced production. Next time you are in Adelaide, ill buy you a beer. Or two... The final track was still a good listen. No PTSD. See you around. Spike. 🎛🎛👍
Hi mate, thanks a lot for the comments, glad the series has helped in some way :). I want to make more videos like this series with the Digitakt, I'm thinking of doing some more. Is there anything you'd like to see in them? Ahh I will defo hold you to that 🍻😃.
Dead finally
It is now with Digitakt 2 being released 😃😅
Hey bro. Me again. Just read the other comment. Didnt know it was discontinued. Pretty much thinking about getting a backup, while i can. To the machines- havent really got the hang of using them with drum loops, but thats ok. I dont much use breaks anyway. Just need more practice.Didnt realise just how good they were for adding texture to samples. You get some good results.. 👍 Your background track hasnt worn thin yet either. Thats a bonus. 🤣👍
Hi mate, yeh not sure if it is fully discontinued as other well-known sellers still have them in stock, be good to see what's happening at super-booth next month. The machines are great for finding extra textures for sure, I love the Werp one, it's really good when you add the LFOs to the sound too, you can get some really interesting FX and textures that way. Ah haha, I'm glad it hasn't worn thin yet 😂
Excellent really appreciate all you've put into these tutorials. Now I just have to crack on.
Thank you, mate, I really appreciate the comment. Glad you've found the video/s useful :), I find that using the Digitakt, especially with my drums and recording them into my DAW, speeds up workflow and sometimes if I don't get the start point bang on where it needs like you would in a DAW, it gives the drums a unique groove without using the swing etc.
Comprehensively explained , still going to need to look back over ..at least once?....
After my step sequencer video, I tried to get as much information in as possible in a shorter space of time, DT is quite a device to get your head around.
Yeah bump agaian. Minitaur too. Stoked. Moog still do wooden end cheeks, if thats your thing. Its my thing. Just had a giggle thinking of dt with wooden cheeks. 🤔🤣
haha, I love the wooden cheeks would look cool on the DT ha, my Minitaur usually belongs in a rack so I have the rack ears for it instead 😃
Hey bro, cant comment on all of these individually. So im going to round it out with one big "FUCKING AWESOME JOB ON THESE.". Looking forward to doing the series. Ive had a dt for years and i still love doing "follow alongs". Every time, i pick up something new. Kudos. 🙌
Ahh thanks mate, appreciate the comment. Glad you've found them useful, gotta love the DT :)
These are amazing videos, thanks for making them and sharing <3
Glad you like them and that they are helpful :)
In less than ten minutes. You literally show what took me days to find out watching other videos. ❤
Ahh no way ha, sorry I didn't upload sooner ha
Simple, and to the point without going down rabbit holes like others tend to do. You give a great snap of each point, and move on. Thank you so much!
Glad you found it useful, I'm trying to do my videos like this along with timeline points so if someone is stuck on a certain thing then they can quickly access it without having to scrub through the whole video. Thanks for watching :)
Nice!
Thank you :)
Great content!
Thank you (again) @coachangeln 😃👊🏻
I cant actually contain my excitement. 👍👍👍👍
I can't wait to get the full series out :).
Do you think they are making a newer one since they discontinued the original Digitakt?
I'm not sure what to make of it tbh. There are a few major websites that still have it in stock, depending on where you are in the world that is, I live in the UK and some of the major music websites still have it in stock here, these are Andertons & GAK, if there discontinuing the product I think these two would be the first to sellout imo. It will definitely be interesting to see what they do at Superbooth 24.
Fantastic I have been hunting for some time now for exactly this type of tutorial. Well happy to of found yours. Subbed .
Great stuff, I hope the videos help you in someway :). Thank you for the sub :)
This was great. Thanks for the tunes and the help.

Please never stop what u are doing ! I stopped and i regret it ! Focus on yourself ! Big up !
Ahh sorry to hear that, It's never too late to start again, all you need is a DAW to get to ball rolling again :). Thanks for the message I really appreciate it 😃
Love a lot of your music! But why pushing all these tracks as videos…? It’s really cluttering your channel’s appearance for other, more tutorial and informative content.
Hi mate, Thank you for the feedback. I see what you mean and appreciate the comment, RUclips will always be my priority for sharing tutorials and information. I saw putting my music on as a way to connect to other external platforms as part of my creativity as a whole. I've tried to keep the music as separate as I can, but I needed to get them on YT which is why I uploaded them in bulk and tried to keep them at the bottom of the playlist on my YT home page. I'm not planning on using RUclips to push my music or anything other than what flows and feels natural along with what is informative :).
@@j5_music thanks for your explanation, and my feedback wasn’t meant to hold you back from uploading your music. Also don’t know if there’s another way to bulk upload your music and build your presence. But is this the way to be on RUclips Music, too? Again, I do like a lot of your music 👍🏻 so keep it coming 😉
No worries, transparency is the best way ha. I think there is a way to be on RUclips music, I haven't looked into it that much tbh. Thank you for the words I appreciate them 😃👊🏻.
Nice one.
Thank you 😃👊🏻
