Congrats to you and the Mrs.- hope it all goes well! Great copies of the X-Men comics- I bought all three off the comic book rack back in the day, during college. I was sitting in the college lounge and someone came in with Giant Size X-Men #1- I flipped through it, ran down to the book store, but sadly there were no more......I did pick up the regular issues off the stand from #94-104 and then money got tight so I'm missing issues here and there. Good luck ahead!

Your the first one to post their terrificon experiences. A lot to unpack here. First off imnglad I found your channel from some of the other ppl on the trip. It's been fun watching this groups videos over the last few years. It was like a culmination of so many things. Ibfeel like I'm part of it all from the backseat just watching. Live the tmnt figs I also collect those as well as comics of course. But most importantly as a father of a 4 and 7 yr old i get it dude. Family is everything. Bruce it was great bumping into you at the Con. You had a big smile on your face the whole time. I went to the Con mostly to meet everyone and socialize. I only had the one day so I had to pack it in but I did get to pickup a book I have wanted for a while which was Planet Comics 1. I can imagine that 3 days of TerrifiCon was fantastic. This book does not look like a 5.5 I looked at the cgc photos, yes I looked up the number, and I’d still say it’s a 6.5 in my opinion. Nice book and congrats.

Hecks yes, reading is undervalued indeed. I have only owned 2 slabs and those were from mystery boxes and I have sold one and the other is on ebay. Nothing against slabs, I just can't read them and they would take up too much space

As someone who collects via slab and raw, it can be a balancing act. Obviously you want to keep your books as pristine as possible in case one pops and you want to slab it. But then you potentially create a hole in your raw run. I don't shy away from buying trade paperbacks, rougher condition copies, or later printings that can be cheaper if I really want to read the story. Besides, with TPBs, I find the reading experience WAY, WAY better than reading monthly issues, where you might forget what you read the month prior. One tip I would share with you and the readers here is to slow down, and enjoy what you already have. If your comics live in a box, I say get 'em out of there! Display your favourite covers & issues. Show off your grails. It gives longevity and value to every purchase you make. We as collectors tend to click "buy now", then immediately search for the next thing to buy. Then the packages arrive by mail, we inspect the books, and into the long box they go. Get more out of the purchase by simply displaying them more and curating your space so you're always reminded of how awesome your collection is.

Great video and loved your selections! Agree that we should all be reading our books which is why I try to have reader copies of all my CGC/CBCS graded books. X-Men 121 is the true 1st full appearance of Alpha Flight and yes, undervalued as everyone gravitates to X-Men 120. That ASM has my attention too, as I'm collecting the 1st appearances of Spidey's rogues gallery. Your last pick was so true, this community is very cool.

I'm with you on raw books, bro. I am a reader first and foremost. I don't worry too much about condition as long as it's a readable copy. I love how everyone's viewpoint on undervalued is so varied. I'm shocked by that Shocker price. Aw, you ended on a heartfelt statement. ❤ Nicely done.

Only fitting thing to do now is to buy the book and yourself seats to Deadpool and Wolverine movie! Also I think like 90% of my slabs also slide around in the case.

Great pick ups. I used to have ASM 121 and 122 both CGC 9.6's and had to sell them. It still hurts to this day whenever I see them. Lol. I love that Wolverine 1. It was the 1st book given to me by my uncle and it what got me into comics. Even though newsstand copies sell for more, direct copies in 1982 were actually lower print run. About 80% of books in 1982 were newsstand while only 20% were direct. In theory it should be much easier to find a high grade copy of a newsstand than a direct. So technically direct should sell for more but the market is what it is. Either way it's still an amazing book. Have for you brotha. Excellent additions to the PC. 👊🏼
