    Thank you for the don'ts. My sciatica started after getting massage once a week to help with hamstring issues caused by total knee replacement surgery. I have weak right leg as I avoided TKR surgery for 12 years and finally did the TKR as avoid hip damage from walking off balance. So now I need help with Sciatica and in the long run strengthen my leg muscles and get flexibility in my knee (already have 120° bend and can take stairs). Help with Sciatica pain that keeps me up. Thank you, Yatri Shukla

    I have been experiencing sciatica pain since 2020. Previously, it would occur about once a year, but since August 2024, the episodes have become more frequent, occurring every month. Recently, I experienced sciatica pain and took pain relief and muscle relaxation medication. While the back pain has subsided, I am now experiencing constant pain in my left leg, particularly when sitting. Could you please guide me on how to address this issue? Despite consistently taking medication, the pain in my left leg persists.

    I accidentally wore and exercised in women's tennis shoes for about a month before hip pian made me realize it. After my IT band finally slid back into place I was left with an incredibly sore SI joint with pain so intense from my hip all the way down to my ankle along the lateral aspect of both my femur and tibia that my GP had to put me on a round of Prednisone. Afrer I tapered off of it the pain returned and now I am treating it with an NSAID, ice, massage gun and a TENS unit while I am on my feet, but the only thing (other than ice) that really alleviates my pain is the figure-four piriformis stretch. Is it okay to continue to stretch this muscle?

    • @PT4Everybody
      @PT4Everybody День назад

      Based on what you've said that stretch should be okay for you. Just make sure you perform it on both sides. Wishing you the best of luck on your recovery!

    I’ve had Parkinson’s since I was 30 (I’m now 45). I can usually tell when something is going wrong with my health. This year, I started stretching, weightlifting (using 2, 5, and 10 kg dumbbells), and seeing a Personal Trainer (PT). The problems began about a month ago, after my last PT session at home. Suddenly, I experienced the worst Parkinson’s symptoms for two weeks, and then, just as suddenly, they stopped. Shortly after, I developed a growing pain in my left buttock. Now, I’m dealing with pain whenever I stand. Pain Areas: Middle of the front left groin Deep inside the left buttock Shooting pain toward the outside of the left knee, which later spreads throughout the left leg as the day goes on Possible Causes: Imbalanced hip movements: Parkinson’s has affected the other side of my body, causing me to walk incorrectly for too long. I wish I had forced myself to correct this earlier. Uncomfortable furniture: My sofas are not comfortable or long enough. My legs extend past the sofa, and I’ve spent too much time sleeping and resting in awkward positions. Leg crossing: I always cross my legs when I rest. I think this was my body’s way of reducing stress, but I’m not entirely sure. Day 1 Treatment: I applied an ice pack (a pack of green beans and broccoli) for 5 minutes and walked very slowly for a few minutes. I think I should repeat this every few hours, right? Anyway, i went ahead and did total of 2 x 5 mins cold compress and had 2 x Nurofen Express Max Strenght 400mg Liquid Capsules Ibuprofen (red pills) most of the pain gone in half a day like magic after suffering badly for two weeks. Pain reduced in all areas, especially in front mid groin. you must ask to a health professional before using that medicine which i did. they checked it against my parkinson's medication and found no clashing in between the two. It was clear that i was suffering because of inflammation.

    Whilr avoiding surgey, I've been very limited on my favorite activities but functioning with herniated 4/5 disc..all from being T-bonedback in 95. 20 sessions of the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression Machine did eliminate my excruciating sciatica pain years ago, but occasional flare-ups & now hop pains do occur. I am now interested in the less invasive Regenexx & Soft-wave Therapy. Until then, I'll keep walking & remembering to just get up & MOVE..cautiously & carefully 😉 If I live long enough, they'll surely discover a viable solution! 🤔

    I don't know what to do anymore. I've had this sciatica pain for four weeks and it was after chiropractors adjustment nothing seems to help. How can I find out what I have? Who can diagnose this? I have a pain in the front of my lower legs that doesn't let me sleep. I'm getting desperate.

    There’s a lot of conflicting information about sciatica. I’ve had it about 3 times within the past 6 years. The first and second time came with lower and mid back muscle spasms which makes things 10x worse. I’ve just got it gradually a couple days ago and last night it peaked. Did a couple RUclips stretches and it helped, today I’m feeling better. It’s as if the sciatic nerve can affect you in different ways each time. The last time I could not get out of bed, I was seeing a chiropractic to help and it helped a bit but the best thing was putting ice and let it heal on its own. Took about 4-6 weeks but on the last week I was able to get up and move around. There needs to be insane research on the matter.
