Katarina Witt 1994 Olympics SP (short program)
Kat's 94 Olympics SP, skated very well. Loved the fast footwork section and the fact she played a male character--go Kat!

Tonya Harding warmup triple Axel

Tonya nails a HUGE triple Axel in the short program warmup at 1992 US Nationals.
Midori Ito does 10 double Axels in a row

A very young Midori Ito wows the crowd by doing 10 double Axels in a row. She was amazing even then!
The best female jumper in figure skating history.
Midori Ito’s triple Axel was, in my opinion, still better than Tonya’s. Ito’s soared and seem to float in the air. It also had better form.
Tonya and Midori forever! ❤
Even after all these years. She possesses "grace".
God it’s just so high!
She just landed that like, “What, like it’s hard?”
I would love to be able to skate so beautifully and powerfully like her!! Only in my dreams or my next life!! She is Amazing!! Loved her then still love her now!
Go Tonya!!! We love you!!
With others who tried to do multiple jumps like these. their jumps get smaller and smaller in height, while they get shorter in distance and sloppier in execution. Midori Ito never seems to get tired at all in between her jumps.
Уникальный фигурист
Love this! Does anyone know what the first two pieces of music are? I know the last one is Samson and Delilah. But where do the first two pieces of music come from?
The beauty of the moment.
Thank you for uploading this! During the 1988 Olympics ABC only showed the last 2* minutes of this performance as well as cutting Petrenko's performance so they could fit in ads. I was so disappointed as I had loved Kotin's short program, and I recall commentator Dick Button was very enthusiastic about him. He thought there was something of Lord Byron in his skating.
Married with kids means nothing. It doesn’t make one automatically moral, straight, or superior. Today we know many closet cases hiding behind the wife and the image of the church’ only later to be caught in a restroom with a ‘wide stance’ or with a male hooker having sex I saw this wonderful movie Breakthrough. And the paster played by Topher Grace- in real life photos at the end, elicited laughter from the audience. He had his ‘West Hollywood’ hair cut and club drug smile.
the 3A was so in her reach, she doesn't even keep her legs tight and she still got all the way around
She's always been my favorite skater. She has so much passion for it and she's so graceful and a true athlete.
Problem with Tonya was that she could not control herself. How do you expect to stay competitive if connot keep the diet and skip practices? After 1991 US championships she gained excess weight and lost shape... Since than she was a shadow of herself...
Владимир Котин - лучший фигурист всех времен и народов. Ему больше всех вместе взятых фигуристов дарили цветов. Браво!!!
Wow
wow she stay so cool
таких нет!!!
Nobody jumps like Tonya did. There were other ladies doing triple axel but not with that height and quality (expect maybe Mirodi). World class. This woman have paid more than the price for what she did let her skate, and do what she loved. She still have it!
Wow! That height!!
SUPER V DETSTVE LYBILA SMOTRET EGO PO TELEKU ! OSOBENNO TSNES PRO MAYKLA DGEKSONA SO SHLYPOY!
God love her. Amazing.
Love it and still do cheer for the villian, glad they clubbed Kerrigan.
Her jumps were insane as were her spin speeds. Far more exciting to watch than nancy.
She didn't have focus on the competitions part during her program, that's why she didn't land it after 1991 competitions, in warm ups she had time and focus. She rushed it during the program and tilted too far and fell
How is that even possible?!?!? I'd been do disorientated and dizzy
Man, I use to love watching that booty fly through the air.
Beyond impressive. The best female jumper of all time
She had so much potential! I can't believe she attacked that is so dumb!!
What is so dumb is that you don't understand that she didn't attack anyone.
Talk all the crap you want she was the first !
владимир котин еще с юности помню этого фигуриста душа летела в небеса и очень хотелось чтобы он был победителем и он им был всегда!!!!!!!!
This jump is really spectacular and highly admirable. Tonya and Midori are not the only one women anymore who completed a triple axel. However, their triple axels are still the best. Midori's because of its wide flow, Tonya's because of its height.
richat30 I think Tonya's was prettier to look at. Her air position had better leg position and posture.
This one is incredible, but I think one of the best video recorded triple axels that she did was in the 1994 Nationals practice session. It's a shame she landed them in warm ups/practice sessions just before the competition and then maybe rushed a little too much and fell in the actual competition. Would certainly have changed things had she also landed them in '92.
Have to respect the talent separately from her attitude...
Judge the message not the messenger
The height on that was about half of her body height, which is certainly very world class. She had so potential. It's hard to believe she went from that, to joining other washed up celebrities who commentate for America's Dumbest Criminals.
Edmund Geswein Try seeing her in person. Saw her at an exhibition in 1992. Aside from perfect spins her jumps stopped your heart. She could almost clear the barrier. I will never forget it. I love lots of skaters, Jill Trenary, Nicole Bobek, Debbie Thomas, and Irena Slutskaya. When I saw Tonya I literally said outloud "Oh my God!"
Гордость наша!!!++++++++ Три Великих: Юрий Овчинников, Игорь Бобрин, Владимир Котин!!! Владимир, Вы-Уникальны!!!
Самый лучший!!!!
И Алексей Урманов.
That's very very impressive!! Wowowow I wish i could do that... those are all doubles too! :) Just wondering why her freeleg is so high?? It makes it look more like she's doing a scratch spin position in the air rather than a cross... looked a little funny to me but it was still amazing!
its called a wrap.
I love how the commentator said she makes me love this sport! What a great compliment and very true!
She had so much power and potential. It's sad that she had to ruin her reputation on injuring another skater.
To all haters: I BET YOU COULDN'T DO THIS AT HER AGE! So stop hatin
Let us remember that this was in 1981, when some of the top women skaters didn't have consistent 2As. The point of doing ten 2As following a couple of her regular exhibition numbers there was to: (1) please the audience; and (2) appeal to us that she can do ten difficult jumps in a row, even after performing two exhibition programs. Frankly, though, I don't believe most of the top female skaters today would be able to do ten 2As in a row--following two exhibition programs, no less.
Amazing. Say what you will about her, but Tonya Harding is one of the greatest female skaters of all time.
She was the greatest of them all. Only Ito could compete with her. Even 25 years later, few can do what she did.
She’s stunning!!
Midori and Tonya all the way. Born athletes and figure skaters, revolutionary. And Tonya because for her to achieve what she did going by where she came from, her adversities, and poverty/lack of money and support, then it is obvious she is one of the greatest ever skaters in history.
I don't like how she has that wrapped leg. That can be a deduction if it was under the current system
I love her helicopter leg :D
One of the best artists in figure skating ever.
Now that's consistency!
she gets so much height. she kinda goes into it like a lutz but then does an axel
