So, to restart I have to lift it and press some button underneath every new game?? If so, that’s annoying . but for under $60usd right now on Amazon I’m strongly considering just for the wood look to match an english leather board.
Honestly I am not even kidding but I got this for $4 on eBay and it was literally brandnew!!!!!!!not even a scratch

Sorry Chess bazaar is not even close! They have far more issues , bad replication, BAD wood, far more worse polish and much more!I I have purchase from 4 places -several times! HOS, Chess bazaar, Staunton Castle, Royal chess mall -- here is honest ranking' 1) HOS, Staunton Castle(same quality, much less selection- not that good of discounts) 3) Royal Chess mall LAST is Chess Bazaar! I have done the same thing in weighing and measuring that is done in this video--- he is SHOWING ONLY ONE SET, and he WAS MORE than --LUCKY to get his set with good specs! I am GUARANTEEING, I play ALL the time with HEAVIER pieces than this guy! I belong to a chess club and the MANY complaints of members who have bought from chess bazaar, from very POOR SPECS -- not meeting within 10% of sizing of EACH PIECE--yes EACH PIECE was so bad the poor carvings and cheap polish! Members from my club got together to compare their several chess bazaar sets and when weighed, measured then actually taken to a GOOD woodworker to ask about the Boxwood and ROSEWOOD, he could easily tell the low quality of wood that was used! The polish was the worst-- it was not real wood polish-- it was the SHAVINGS from the boxwood that had oils left on them when carved-- that was used to POLISH EVERY SET we showed him--ALL the sets! The wood worker just took a very small amount of warm water, dampened a cloth and rubbed our many pieces-- there was so little shavings oil( Chess bazaar version of polish!) it came off immediately! NONE of this happened with pieces (many) we tested from HOS or Staunton Castle- Royal chess mall had some issues, but NOT close to the number of problems that Chess Bazaar had!
i have heard these are prone to the display fading within a year. have you experienced this?

It is marvellous an original The House of Stauton chess. I am very happy because yesterday I bought a second hand used Stauton's style chess game probable made here in my country for more less 13 u$s and look, weight and texture is very good. Of course nothing like the Original The House of Stauton but I am very impressed for this at the video and at the same time very happy for my cheap imitation Stauton is it done very good too (and satisfied for the low cost). I enjoy the video thank you for showing an original House of Stauton chess.
That wood grain finish is unfortunate. I would prefer a solid color model. That wood finish makes it look like it came from the 70s.

At 6:36 you should have moved Nxf3 and taken the Bishop and sacked the Q. Once black took the Q on g1 with the rook you could have moved the Knight on f3 to g1 with Nxg1 and taken the rook back and gone up to pieces. And if he hadnt moved his other Rook after that, the King cpuld have taken the Rook on e2. After that white would have had it in the bag.

Watching the unboxing of a chess set should be the most boring video on RUclips, but it wasn’t. I locked in and watched every second, and I felt it move. That set should be good enough to get you through your entire life.
THESE PEOPLE ARE RIP OFFS. I SIGNED UP FOR THEIR EMAIL LIST AND HAVE RECEIVED TO OFFERS FOR 40% OFF AND THE REFUSE TO HONOR ANY OF THEM. VIGOROUS HAND GESTURES TO THESE IDIOTS.
Shame about the bishops' mitres in an otherwise very fine set. The simple slit saves on manufacturing costs for sure but lacks the artful, deep cleft of Cooke's original and beautiful Staunton design which more accurately depicts a bishop's mitre.
