    Thanks for this. Very helpful. What if I set the pivot where I want it on one transform and then I put down another transform and I want it to have the exact SAME pivot point as the transform above it? Is there an expression for that? Can I read the pivot information from the incoming stream and then automatically set the pivot to that?

    I watched about 10% and so far it's very good. It's updated to the latest version of Houdini and it's not just about "how to click", but you will know why you are doing it.

    Really interesting. Could you maybe go into more depth regarding some tutorials suites (doesn't have to be a specific one)? Is it the "learn how to make Hollywood level VFX on your 5 year old laptop" wording that bothers you or is the content or way of teaching also something you don't agree with? I'm asking because it's quite easy to be overwhelmed by the amount of tutorial content out there.

    • @houdini-course
      @houdini-course Год назад

      Yes, that's my main problem - selling unrealistic promises. The average beginner isn't able to pull off movie level shots (simply because of the hardware needed) and is not expected to (!). But some sites sell their courses by promising these outlandish shots, while not actually teaching real usable knowledge. Thankfully most tutorials do realistic projects, but I find it really sad how dreams are sold to people by exploiting their passion. It's not right. As an educator you should explain the reality of the field, not selling lies.

    i cant seem to render fire using this pyro source spread node, y renders fine in the render view but when i export a .exr secuence it only shows fire on the object that i am rendering fire on like y has some kind of mask.

    dont see this talked about anywhere else but i noticed you didnt touch on the animation tab, i say this is as i am trying to use a pops simulation with a temperature attribute to the points to essentially be the source points of spread, although i cant seem to get it to work, the workflow seems simple enough with an unanimated bounding region and group of points but the minute those points are animated it doesn't work, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • @tomroohan
      @tomroohan 2 года назад

      I'm also trying to work out how to seed points which change before they enter the pyro source. My initial thought which I tried was to envelop the pyrosource solver within a normal solver so it can continually run over the points as they change in each frame but can't quite get it to work.

    • @houdini-course
      @houdini-course 2 года назад

      When you double click on the pyro source spread node you can add data during the simulation. A SOP Solver in combination with an Attribute transfer should do the trick.
