Very informative. I have a question - I hear everywhere that niacinamide is just another name as nicotinamide. I am trying to purchase some for my husband, and the term nicotinamide is less frequent in North America. Could I get confirmation that niacinamide is the same? Thanks.

Strabismus has long term effects that are similar to the ones you listed for glaucoma. I have strabismus and and now glaucoma; I worry or wonder if these symptoms may be exaggerated because of the glaucoma.

i’ve got glaucoma and go twice a year for checkups however strangely i was asked in the middle of these dates to attend a eye health appointment firstly i phoned up the office to check and it was nothing to do with glaucoma. whilst at this appointment it was pointed out i had cataracts as well- the pressure was also up , apparently both connected, i was rushed into theatre (2weeks) for first eye and now 2 weeks later it’s the second eyes turn.. Don’t underestimate glaucoma!!

I have conginetal glaucoma in one eye only but the problem is it stretched out so I have one eye bigger then the other it looks messed up and it had me live in pain for ever I have no self confidence and now it is blind thank god the other one is healthy

What are your Natural Remedies and why not mentioned here?

Neuroprotection is fascinating. The neuroprotective effects of estrogen was something I've explored and I tried vitB3 though found it wasn't great for liver function. Interested to hear there are clinical trials in NZ for other options. I wonder how much autoimmunity might be playing a role ? Either in cause or in progression after damage.

Interesting my Mother was diagnosed in her early 40s and legally blind from.complications by her mid to late 40s. I had hypertension since my first measurements in my 20s but wasn't medicated until nearly 40 for it when pressures raised a bit more. By then damage was done but apparently it wasn't till I found the right Dr that it was clear it was glaucoma not hypertension. I have luckily got my hypertensive family member in their early 30s onto drops earlier than I had and watching the younger generations borderline hypertension closely. For some this is a slow disease but for others like my family I'm not sure the wait and see approach works as well. I love the repository idea, as a scientist inhave high regards for data and kept my own notes from various people I've consulted no ones been particularly thankful when I bring them along though aside from the time the hospital lost a letter I needed for the procedure I was having.
