The Famous South West Coast Path
Просмотров 995 месяцев назад
Every year, my best friend Dan and I carve out a week to spend together on an adventure. For the past two years, we’ve taken on the Thames by kayak, but this year we decided to switch things up with a multi-day hike and camp along the South West Coast Path. Starting in Minehead, we set out to hike all the way to Ilfracombe, covering a total of 58 miles. The journey was a mix of challenging terr...

Primitive Fishing Spear: Rare English Hardwood

In this video, I venture into the Chiltern Hills to find the perfect stick to craft a pole spear for a spearfishing adventure. I chose boxwood, renowned as the UK's hardest wood. Boxwood is prized for its density, fine grain, and durability, making it ideal for detailed carving and high-strength tools. Its uses range from intricate woodworking and musical instruments to high-quality tool handle...

Abandoned Places: St Peter's Seminary
Просмотров 7666 месяцев назад
St. Peter's Seminary, located near Cardross, Scotland, is a notable piece of modernist architecture designed by the architectural firm Gillespie, Kidd & Coia. It was built in the 1960s to serve as a training college for Roman Catholic priests but has since fallen into disrepair and is largely abandoned. Despite its dilapidated state, the building is recognized for its architectural significance...

Council TOOL BOYS AXE at work in the woods
You got family down here, thats awesome! Looked like a great trip. Gettin about in style too in that Troopy, thats the way to do it! Good on yas
Yeah, all my dad's side. That Troopy is fucking awful to drive. It's like it's been abandoned and brought back to life by a bush mechanic. Sadly I didn't get any footage of Bonnie Doon, we did drive past it
@MrDesmostylus haha yeah Troopy's get like that, but just like Bonny Doon or a fake chimney, it's the charm of em 🤣
HAHA looks a little low that one, I thought I was the only mad man to go starkers in a mine hahaha. hats off to you brother, take my SUB!!!
What a special adventure! Looks like you had a blast. Happy 2025!
What a cool trip
Wonderful ❤
Bute-iful Bute... Thanks for sharing.
Looks like a blast! I assume that's you driving. Liking the colour coordinated jacket. Take care.
@@brettbrown9814 Cheers, yep that's me. Midlife crisis. I'm going to use it for some camping adventures in the summer
Still not been knocked down yet,Still it has to be taken on a nice property,Such a shame things never catched up with Jimmy was still alive,Could of had his head kicked in,After what the sick criminal did for more than 60+ years,Never known how some sick criminal would get away with all his sick crimes,He was most likely LAUGHING to his grave,His abandoned property been trashed over god knows how many times,It end up falling down one day after the amount of times its been smashed up
if you still have this bow, could you make a video bending the tips, it should add more speed and look very pretty (i would recommend steam)
I came upon this by accident and I had a silly grin on my mush throughout the whole video. Thank you! ❤
Looks like a great design.
😯 Holy Shit !!!! That's going to be the world's biggest butterfly when it comes out of its cocoon, just keep your fingers crossed that it is a butterfly and it doesn't turn out to be a cross fracking mutant carnivore 😳!!!!!! Seriously that is really cool hopefully you don't have one of those friends that would find it way to tempting to wait until you get to sleep then spin you round and round and around so more !!! LMMFAO 😈 !!!!!!
This is such a fantastic fairy tale, so nice spoken, so lovely work, you did. I know, what to do now in upcoming wintertime!! Thx for showing us, it.s so great (story and craftsmanship)!
Great video. Really interesting. I used to live on ‘the moors’. I’m in Canada now. Thanks . Please be careful with these things if there’s a sudden downpour on the surface the water in there will rise very suddenly.
I hit like, and now I feel cheated
Cute girl with freckles 😊hard to beat
What kind of axe is that?
Elwell trimming pattern
Really nice mods and great presentation
Love the TikTok dance
get some wing nuts cowboy!
Enjoyed the video very much...I am a resident of Bute and love to see areas which I haven't visited..The first music track was great.. wished I could find the name of the group and the track title....Thank you so much..Dorothy Broadbent
The song is called The battle of sterling bridge by Tress Maksimuk. Thank you for your lovely comment. I really enjoyed my Trip to Bute. It's a magical place with loads of secrets. Thanks for watching
I see your fire hardened spine there Very nice
@@sweetchariotengland I was worried I went a little too far with it, it turned out fine though
@@MrDesmostylus I think that anxiety is inherent in bow making. Always looking for that point between too little and not enough Learning how to enjoy the mistakes is the key, always a chance to learn
Very nice!
Awesome 👏
Got me thinking I should visit Britain!
@@MattKeevil You should do.... Before it's totally turned to shit
Looks like you guys had a blast! Beautiful and entertaining video.
@@brettbrown9814 It was great fun! Cheers Bret
Coupla scumbags. I love your trails. Just cut through quaint little towns with odd pub. You get on one of our thru-hiking trails and it’s days in between towns, just looking at your feet, a bit claustrophobic at times really.
I bet it can be, especially if the landscape doesn't change much
Dan’s looking fit. Looks like he’s lost some weight, eh?
Yeah he has. He'll love to read this comment
Beautiful shots. Epic cuts to music. What a trip.
Omg!! We too have a 16ft canoe and have bought a 50lb motor with a 200ah lithium iron battery.. out on the river now as I write this(currently pulled over fishing) and also have my blue whippet with me and she loves it! Great video btw 🙂
@@Whippetiggy This is great to hear! Such a good combination using a canoe with an electric motor. Also whippets are the best aren't they
@@MrDesmostylus we’ve yet to try out the motor as the battery was late to be delivered (came today) so we had to paddle.. yes whippets are definitely the best dogs!! She loves the canoe! Her first trip down the river was two days on top of a kayak with a makeshift platform for her bed 😂 What kind of speed do you get? What thrust is your motor?
@@Whippetiggy I get around 3 to 4 miles an hour roughly. That's on the highest speed setting. I'm not sure what thrust it has. It was the cheapest Chinese one so wouldn't believe the specs anyway. I traveled 7 miles on one charge yesterday which I thought was impressive
Good job you limited yourself to a short visit. A few years ago they did some measurements of the radon levels in that mine, and found them to be well over the safety level (approx x90)
@@StuartGrant Are you serious? You must be pulling my leg
@@MrDesmostylus I was watching through a video from dnpa about the Cornubian Batholith yesterday and these measurements were specifically mentioned at ruclips.net/video/TJsPvZhHy3Y/видео.htmlsi=PQSVYevmQjOLS3YI&t=3465 (time index is 57:45 if the link doesn't copy properly)
@@StuartGrant They should put some warning signs in there. From what I've read you need to expose yourself for long lengths of time to warrant any side effects..... Fingers crossed
I've been musing a trip in there, but I'll give it a miss given that information. As all the shafts are blocked, there's no through ventilation draft to keep the levels down. Signs were put up in the past but tend to disappear...
What a beast!!! Great job turning an inexpensive axe into a race axe!!!
Rusted to fuck!!!! Love it!!! Fabulous video, learned a lot
That’s how I offload my 146
You know what makes a great splitting mallet?? Ash
Very nice installation. I did similar with my folding Mycanoe. What river is that? The footage of the morning mist on the water is wonderful.
160k? better be made of solid gold
@@robertDK3 It is a 106k, why do you say that?
Love your commentary!!!! Outstanding lesson in tuning an axe!
Claustrophobia alert 😳
Ha ha! Thanks for the lunchtime laugh. Pete.
Beautiful!
You couldn't have staged that any better!
Brilliant.
Landscape looks epic
Yes it was Kayaking heaven. Look forward to the next one 👍🏽
Well that was quite an adventure!
The moops.
Where's this?
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Very cool!
