Hi John, actually the owner/maker of reddog bumpers was kind enough to facetime me and explain it. I mentioned that I was putting together a video so I wanted to make sure I got it right before sharing with everyone. Also the instructions are quite good - coupled with this video you should be able to do it if your somewhat mechanically inclined. Thanks for the compliments!

I love it, feels great. I think you'll be good with that, just get the right springs for your setup. I would contact Kyle Fogle on GXOR on FB he's an expert and hooked me up properly for my setup.

Hey, neither are affected. This model GX does not have sensors in the front and the air bag sensors are located where the fenders bolt onto the frame I believe. Modern vehicles use accelerometers to sense a sudden drop in speed to trigger air bags, do not require the bumper to squeeze in or anything. The suspension is fantastic. Still waiting on a front bumper + winch which will add 180lbs to front lip. Then can say for sure since front springs are setup for that.

As a car guy a decade older than you I got one word of advice. Research the car you want before you by it. By that I mean when you go to the dealership to look at your first car do not impulse by the same day like I did. Go home and google every option you have and pick the one that suits you. My options were a Nissan maxima, a Honda civic with a manual transmission, or a Toyota Corolla. I wasn’t a car guy at that age and I listened to my parents so I went with the reliable Toyota Corolla route. Nothing more than a cold air intake and an exhaust system you can do with those cars without spending an arm and a leg. It’s been 7 years and I kick myself everyday for not getting that damn manual civic, if I did I probably would have a solid project car by now.
