I'm not sure what it is, but killing monsters sometimes gives me health. I tried killing a bunch before buying health, then I buy 2 health and almost every kill after that I gain health if I didn't lose health. The completed version you posted in the description also does it. I'm at 1:23:00 in the video. I still have console.log(hit) for function getMonsterAttackValue(level) and some of the numbers for example are showing -5, -10, -19, 9, -1, 1, -16, -3 (upwards to -166 after doing this so many times). I'm gaining those negative numbers in health. The numbers are gradually getting more and more into the negative and are showing up the majority of the time. I think it has something to do with xp incrementing. I think the problem is in this function: function getMonsterAttackValue(level) { let hit = (level * 5) - (Math.floor(Math.random() * xp)); } If the fanged beast is level 8 and my xp is up to 180 this is what that math turns out to: function getMonsterAttackValue(8) { let hit = (8 * 5) - (Math.floor(Math.random() * 180)); } This equation could result in : 40 - 180 = -140 which would end up giving you health. I believe you could do something along the lines of: function getMonsterAttackValue(level) { let hit = (level * 5) - (Math.round(Math.random() * level * 5) } This makes the game quite a bit more difficult, so I recommend just lowering the fanged beast and dragons levels maybe to 5 and 15. that way the monsters attack value should be between 0 and whatever (level * 5) would be based on whatever random number you roll if you go to (level * 6) or higher you will start seeing negative numbers as well. I noticed Math.floor would sometimes give me a -1, so I changed it to Math.round and haven't seen a negative yet. I'm sure there's a better way to do this, but these are just tweaks I had to do with the very limited knowledge I have of JS in order to fix the issue.

Great tutorial on several JavaScript fundamentals. Mechanics will need some tweaking though. With the current hit calculation, high XP vs. low level monsters will earn you negative damage and add to your health lol. I understand this is about learning/practicing JS and not game mechanics but it's still pretty funny to see it happen :)
