Have had now 3 ebikes. Getting better and faster each time. All had nobby off road type tires. In my only 3k mile experience there is not a made for off road bike. Anyways, only ride street, too and from work. Never new how loud my tires actually were till I decided to get street tires. WOW, ride difference, sound, battery, everything. Only down fault is you feal every pebble in the road. Battery good for 10-20 percent more on long hauls. Love them so far. Recommend tire liner and tube seal on all fat tires

what about on wet roads slick vs. nubby tires if you hit some dirt or something around a corner you can slip which ones are better

Yes if you like knobby tires be prepared to replace them every few months , I'm @ 240lbs. and found my tires were needing replaced about every 3 months because my bike is my only transport and on average $70-$80 was too expensive for me , cutting costs was why I decided to only ebike in the 1st place . I've been using a set of Chao Yang street tires that I picked up on ebay for about $50 a piece and have over 3000 miles on them , glad I went ahead and bought a 2nd set before they ran out .

Nice video! For the money you can't beat the Suntour NCX. However when combined with a full suspension bike it's like riding in your car. Therefore the only bikes I buy anymore are full suspension types. It's a bad (hard tail) versus barely okay (hard tail + suspension post) versus good (full suspension + suspension post).

The major issue I found using slick type tires is you have to watch out for any loose sand or gravel in cornering at certain speeds, the bike can slide right from under you. I prefer knobbies. 😁

Why don't you take a scale and weigh the bike? This is the second bike I follow, and there is no mention of weight, even though it is the most important reason to buy or not.

I was actually looking for the answer to adjusting the up/down at the bottom of the seat post, and if you found you needed to adjust the 'bounce'/spring to get to the best feel? I'm unsure which way to turn things at the bottom. Since I have a fairly permanent bag on my rear rack, I'll have to make some adjustments there as well, but thanks for what you showed us, very helpful.

would you happen to know the size of the seat post? i was looking into buying one of these but would want to replace the seat. thanks for the emphasis on flat terrain with this, a lot of the mini bikes struggle up hills and its good to know!

I had a Kinect seat post on my Creo road bike. I decided to try this after suffering from back aches. Well, after around 6 months with the Kinect seat post, I stopped suffering from back pain from each ride. One day, I got confident that my back ache was gone and to save weight I decided to remove the kinetic seat post and place the original seat post! Wow, I couldn’t believe the difference! The ride was so horrible lol! I’m very convinced user of these seat posts that it works! I reinstalled Kinect and I’m back to comfy rides again! In short, once you ride with a suspension seat post it is difficult to go back riding with no suspension at all. Now I'm 54 years old with a bad back.

I love my SR Suntour NCX. And installed it on all my bikes.

My bike uses knobby tires 20x4. Never had a flat in 3500 miles. Brand CST but I have to change them the lifetime is out

Do you find the slick road tires give you more distance per battery charge as compared to the off-road tires?

Hi, You wear glasses & have a Baid head so you must be very smart. Just messin with ya. I am convinced that dogs don't like the sound that knobby tires make. Been riding 60 years. Had to shoot a dog that was trying to hurt me. Looking for better street tires. Something that will last. BFT has held up well but noisy.

I tried the Zoom, the Bibike Safort, the Suntour NCX, the Thudbuster, Kinect and finally stuck with the Redshift Shockstop. It has less travel at 35mm, vs 50mm or more on some, but its perfectly progressive, getting stiffer/stronger through the stroke, and, critically - much less rearward motion. That backward shift and fall off was way too prevalent and noticeable to me, even if the SunTour is a good value. These are very subjective, and I am glad Amazon return policy allowed me to try almost all of the current crop of suspension seatpost designs and price ranges. Did you stick with the SunTour?

Too many bikes (especially eBikes) are already too tall in the frame for shorter riders to enjoy. A Suspension seat post adds more seat height, usually 2 or more inches. If you already have the seat at the lowest position, a suspension seat post is the wrong answer.

Great video. My seat post is quite low, but I've measured it and the suspension part will still fit my bike. What I'm concerned about is the rearward movement, i have a box on my rack, so I'm not sure if i have enough room there. I did see on a forum that someone reversed the seat mounting part so that it's more inline with the post itself, and sits just a bit higher.
