This is one of our favorite routes, and we ride it several times on each trip. We start in the wash off Willow Springs Road, rip over to a bit of 3D, into M&M, visit Determination Towers, stop by Uranium Arch, then exit the mesa via 7 Mile Rim. This can be a D3 route if you pick your lines carefully. D4 if you are not so careful. D5 if you want to hit some of the ugly lines! We enjoy this on bo...

There are so many great networks, trails, and routes. How do you know where to go, especially if you are on a big adventure bike? We missed the 2024 Loose Screw event, but one of our buddies attended so he was able to take us on their C loop. Amaze!

Where can I find this route? No links seem to work. Any ideas?
Here ya go. thatmoto.app/tOKceYKsFJ
@ awesome. Any guidance on how I load into tma?
@@dirttv It's easier than that. Join TMA. Click subscribe in Kootenay CDR, route appear in your TMA Mobile App (iOS or Android). See TMA emails and/or social media for our early help documentation. We are working hard on making it all great, and intuitive. A big job for certain!
Gnarly, Scott. I'm glad you're okay, dude. I found when I broke my navicular, it reminded me of a toothache in my foot, so I can only imagine the (un)awesome agony you experienced. You, Sir, are a rockstar! You'll go back to NZ to ride the route and will undoubtedly lower the air pressure of your front tire before you hit the gravel. I wish you a speedy recovery!!!
Thanks Buddy. Going a little bit cray right now. Get me outa this thing!
That sucks , I have thought about it a few times since this aired. Hope you are on the road to recovery , keep us posted.
I went from Gran Forks to Revelstoke on one day and hit that bridge at 6:55. From Grand forks to Edgewood I saw dozens of riders, but from Edgewood past whatshan to shelter bay I I didn't see anyone at all and I had been on the road for hours at that point, making camp opposite of nakusp on the top of a mountain. Anyway I just wanted to say that bridge at 6:55 was my favourite part of the trip and I stopped there awhile. Good memories.
Stunned and so sad about your mishap . Get better sir.
Sorry your NZ adventure ended short. I was looking forward to seeing some NZ Dirt Chimp content. You did a great job of sucking up the suck in this episode. The Dirt Chimps rock. Heal up strong big guy.
What Modular helmet is the Scrambler rider wearing?
Sorry to see your adventure ended up as it did! I was looking forward to some Itchy Boots/Dirt Chimp mashup videos! I hope the healing goes well.
Man that is a Brutal Way to end your epic trip that you had planned. Heartbreaking Sir!
What an absolute gut punch that was. So sorry about your luck, man. You always make the best of the worst situation of course, but this still sucks.
Oh F***
I have a 500 exc and 1250gsa and love both. The gsa is insanely easy to ride
Oh Scottie, I’m so sorry you got injured and it cut your trip short before it even started. You sure kept cool after the crash, you always take these things in stride and brush them off instantly. A credit to your character. I would have been dripping major F-bombs and most of the video would need to bleeped out. Heal quickly Scott!
Damn, Day one on a bucket list ride like that. Sorry to hear it. And welcome to the broken foot bone club. My Dr used the technical term "dusted".
Lol, dusted. Yup.
Oh man I feel upset your trip was over so soon, south island has some amazing riding.Hope you get to come back! I broke my foot in same spot when I was 12 hitting a tree. All the bones were snapped off though and spend 3 weeks in hospital.
Oh man, that's crazy! I am able to hobble about, so that that bad. I'll be back!
Have bad news for you, it’s 6 weeks if you’re a young guy. Probably 8-9 weeks at your age, and then rehab etc, I’m 7 months in and still not 100%. Best wishes and heal well!
I feel sadness. Positive thinking and good eating. I am hopeing to start snowbiking near the end of January, which involved sturdy boots, and it's less impact that most other activities. Fingers crossed!
Brutal luck but I really enjoyed watching how positive you stayed throughout. I ran almost that same setup on my old 701 and I can confirm that the front end is extremely loose when weighted down with gear, even with the rear preload adjusted. On loose twisty gravel it was always on the verge of washing out. Get well soon
I have a 690 back home that I struggle with. I just put a much stiffer spring in the rear, but have yet to ride it. Fingers crossed!
Oh dude! I've got a matching X-ray from 2021. Really a damn shame.
I'm collecting these. First one was in 2020. Your turn next time buddy! ;)
Hey Scott! Great video and attitude! Stuff happens. Thanks for the shout out. We riders need to look out for each other. Come back soon. The NZ “roads” are worse than the tracks😂
Dr. Bill! Hey, I am sitting in an apiport right now waiting for my 10 hour delayed flight and I am rocking the iWalk. Thanks again for everything!
Hey Scott, sorry to see! Way to keep yourself organized and positive, though. Hope you’re healing up well!
That’s brutal luck - I feel horrible for you. Good on you for staying positive through it all. Hopefully it’s all healed up for the start of the riding season back home. What psi are you running in the cast? Too soon? 😅
Too soon :P
Who makes those helmet hangers you have on the wall? That is really cool way of hanging them up.
WTF - Andrew banged up in Moab and now this. Heal up guys😬
But you lived to ride another day👍👍
Brutal! I just wanted to point out, good on your for keeping spirits up. I'm sure that was devastating but it was nice to see you trying to stay positive. And shootout to all the helpful people! Amazing to see so many people come together to help out a stranger. Your point of "I didn't get to see alot but I experienced alot" really highlighted that. Rest up, heal up and get back at er!
It's a bummer. Lewis is a great guy and I think he was pumped that I made the trip to be toured around by him. I know that if things were reversed, I would be thrilled that somebody flew half way around the world to have me tour them around. I hope he will have me (or us) back next year for another kick at the can! The people I met really were amazing. I think the whole trip changed be a bit for the better. New benchmarks for personal excellence and all. I look forward to practicing and sharing what I experienced, and then going back for another lesson is true hospitality! Thank you for sharing your comment. :)
@DirtChimps can't wait to see you guys back together! Thank YOU for sharing all your awesome adventures with us.
Man that is bogus, I'm sorry to see what transpired. I hope you are healing up good and strong!
Thanks! I will use this time wisely to get ahead of things so I can take more time off once healed! Cheers.
Oh man, sorry to hear about your game changing dirt nap! Guess it's time to take up RC driving again for a few weeks? Hopefully you're up and about soon and can get back out on the snow bike!
RC cars. That's a blast from the past!
Ah man, that is totally shit. The Sth Island has some epic riding through areas they filmed lord of the rings etc. Perfect time of the year to do it too. Hope you get back over when you're fixed up.
Thank you. I am absolutely going back. same time next year by the look of things!
Wow Scott That really sucks, sorry man. Bright side you should be healthy by next season 😁
I look forward to being mobile again!
How much was the air? 😂
Flying is no fun with a swollen foot. Funny thing, family trip to Barcelona leaves tomorrow. No fancy seat for this flight, back of the bus for us!
@ I meant the air at the gas station with the fancy pump. We get charged $1 here in Ontario with no fancy digital pump. 😂 Get well and thanks for the reply.
@@JebusFinklestein Funny. I thought that was an obscure comment. My interpretation missed the mark! To answer, it was free. They charge us here in BC too. :/
@ Cheers!
I hope Stinky is ok! Thanks for sharing your videos from this trip. Love Moab!
Hopefully nothing serious from the sand nap - ride on!
1 or 2 busted ribs in the front, and 1 either busted or dislocated in the back. After a few weeks, I'm feeling good to go!
@ - So a little bit more than a sand nap😬. Heal up and get back on that horse.
Is this the weather there in December..... stunning. These are great vids to shake off the dreariness of November in BC haha
So many drones so little money.
Love your videos Scott 😊 but music sucks buddy
:(
You say Mow-ahb, I say Mow-ab; must be a Canadian thing🙂. Great video and ride👍
Great work Chimps.
What a route!! How cool is it that I could go ride this just by downloading it from the exchange!!... I'm not taking one of my big bikes on this one tho lol
Come on! The Africa Twin would have a blast on this route :)
@ it would, me, not so much lol 😂
Yeah boys 🤘🏼
amazing
Was that side cut part of the route as narrow as it looked; definitely look ahead not down😬
It didn't feel as bad as it looks!!
Seems like Mikey has three speeds, here, there and gone. xD
I am rewatching this video, and a few others from this trip, after 5 months. I am so glad that I film these adventures and I don't know why more people don't. It's so easy to film, and to edit, with a little experience. I would have only remembered 5% of this without the video. The video TOTALLY takes me back to the moment, and the huge view elicit a true emotional response, even on my simple laptop screen.
Awesome video! We met Charles in Baja , total gentleman. Looks like a god on the 890. We had heard stories. Looks like they are true.
I live on the east coast. Our riding is rocky, sandy, lots of tree roots, & tight trails. Im jealous of the relative "smooth" terrain you have out there. Although the trail laws seem odd, our trails are more likely to say "no road legal vehicles/ off road only". Not many road legal vehicles can access this trail, so it kind of just seems like a tactic to limit this trails use.
So impressive to watch those bikes go up Hell's revenge!!
This will be on my list of places to only ever ride on a small bike! lol Hats off to those on T7s and 890s!!
That's some impressive scenery. Shout out to the Chads on the big bikes too.
What a blast this day was. Definitely not the cleanest run up hells gate but I’ll take it! ❤
Yeah buddy, nice work!
what's up fuzzy fudders :-)
