He was ahead of his time for sure. What year is this? The underhand pitch!! There it is. That is not a rolling release that's a throw release. But with that much hip slide, it could be problematic. He's a little all over the place with this. It's confusing.

    • @yoursimplegolfswing
      @yoursimplegolfswing Месяц назад

      For my purposes, 3 inches of concrete was definitely sufficient. As for digging into the ground, I didn’t. I used a tamper to pack down the Earth, but I did not dig down into the Earth because I wanted my platform to be above the ground so to speak. I didn’t want my grass creeping over it.

      @@yoursimplegolfswingI appreciate the quick response. I’ve been doing research and most sources have said 4” for patio but that seems excessive. There won’t be any heavy furniture on it. I was somewhat worried about an iron strike doing damage but I think a good mat will absorb most of the blow. I think I will be aiming towards 3”

    I don’t think you watch the whole video because what you just mentioned is my exact point in the video. My whole point is to tell people that they can’t simply change the shafts and make their current clubs into same length clubs. I appreciate your contribution, but please watch the entire video before commenting.

  • @pedroc6823
    @pedroc6823 Месяц назад

    You say they are the height , believe you mean to say that you grip the clubs in the same hand position. But the goal of single length is to have one ball position and same swing plane for each club. All the clubs have sameness to them including flex , head weight, lie angle and are matched at a place that conventional irons are not. The loft according to several single length manufactures are the biggest part to over come, and is the dependent factor in distance. So you may have the same hand position for a traditional length club but they end up being swung on a different plane. , Edel and 1iron golf I believe do it the best with Cobra bastardizing the concept by trying to make up trajectory differences by using different and flex shafts and also lie angles. There is a more to single length irons when excuted well. I would suggest that you do a bit of research there are many companies selling these clubs. I have both conventional and SL irons. When I cant practice I use my single length irons and tend to play well with minimal practice and no one has ever asked are those single length clubs. Its the lesser variables they make players who are willing to take the time to get used to them most likely make the change or have them as a travel set. good aditional information. ruclips.net/video/qSZWmNfFDs4/видео.html

  • @krusher74
    @krusher74 Месяц назад

    You only have half the info here and are 5 years+ behind one length info, you cant make one length sets out of normal clubs because the heads are also incrementally weighted differently, so even if you did what you said and lie matched them all the swing weights would not match. A 5 iron head is way lighter than a PW head as they are made to swing weight match on different length shafts, One length heads from wishon/cobra are all the same weight. Bryson also never played any of the commercially available cobra irons, he has extremely upright custom lie angles 73deg, where a standard 7 iron is 63. This all happened back in 2017/2018. loft and lies of clubs are also moved cold on a loft and lie machine, I don't know where you have made up this heating from.

  • @loracle540
    @loracle540 Месяц назад

    It make complete sense if we are all the same height with the same length arms. Most people who change lengths just do it for the longer irons because without lots of practice the longer irons are harder to use.

    Hello Matt... very interesting video. I get it concerning the adjusted lie angle for the irons, which makes all the sense in the world, but what about the lie angle for drivers? Most drivers just come as is for everyone. How then is the lie angle for drivers adjusted for tall or short golfers? Second question is... I believe you use a 9* lofted driver, does that degree hit longer, or is that for swing speed? Thanks... Al

    • @yoursimplegolfswing
      @yoursimplegolfswing Месяц назад

      Generally, same length club sets only pertain to irons. I haven’t seen anyone who has made a driver the length of their seven iron. Many of the modern drivers have adjustable heads that allow you to change both the loft and lie. I use the ping G425 max which allows you to adjust the lie 1° plus or minus. I leave mine standard. I can also adjust the loft by I think 1 1/2° but I keep it at 9°. 9° does allow more distance than say a 10 or 10 1/2° driver. Higher loft drivers are more forgiving and help you hit it a little straighter. I don’t have that problem. Lower degree allows me to work the ball whichever direction I need to whether that be right to left or left or right. It’s just like it’s easier to draw or fade a three iron than it is a nine Iron. A 3 iron has less loft than a nine iron.

    • @krusher74
      @krusher74 Месяц назад

      If you want the real info on this look up Tom Wishon. His test 7 iron length driver lost big distance. If you want a short Driver try going down to 3 wood 43.5" length, but you will need to add weight to the head to get back to a normal swing weight. 6g+ to the head for every 1/2" you shorten it.

    • @yoursimplegolfswing

       thanks for contributing. I appreciate it. You provided some great information. If I remember correctly, I know that at least a few years ago, Bubba Watson had gone to a 43.5 inch driver in the hope of gaining a little more control, but he also said he felt like he could swing it faster. But as you say if you go too much shorter than that, you will lose drastic amount of distance.

      @@yoursimplegolfswingnone. None of the viewers do research, we all seek instant gratification and success…. Sadly true. Some 20+ years ago I had a 40 minute lesson from an ex Ryder Cup Player here in UK. He was charming and tolerant and had wise words for me. For a whole two days my seven iron was hit with perfection and such feeling. However, that skill fade in very short order takes it all away from all of the viewers. We seek an almost instantaneous effect from watching our instructor. I realise in life that’s just not going to work. But it’s the way of RUclips. I think the technique you show was something I watched in a Nick Faldo DVD some 30 years ago. Of course my first lesson was reading (remember this is in the UK with me as a kid) a booked by a chap called Jack Nicklaus - “My plan for the ‘68 masters”. The people that are searching for a quick fix will forever be frustrated with their golf game. Those people can’t be reached nor can they be helped. I am very satisfied with the testimonials from hundreds of golfers who have watched my videos and then taking the next step of buying my online course. To get the right feeling, do a squat like in weightlifting. Feel the bend where the top of your legs attach to your hip sockets. Same length clubs would require the lie to be adjusted on every club to be the exact same angle. Each club has a different lie angle. People who use same length clubs do not understand how clubs are actually designed, and that they are actually all the same height.

    Matt, I agree with the "drive for show" statement. I don't even carry a hybrid. I carry a 7 wood that replaces the hybrid/3-4 iron....That club is money if you hit it right and it's very versatile. Reaching GIR is imperative.

      Yes, GIR is imperative and I’m sure once you started hitting your driver longer and straighter it became a lot more easier hit more GIRs and to score lower.

      I had a older Callaway heavenwood 17degree . After about 6 rounds I was pro good with that from anywhere .and it always put me to my favorite number into the green . I certainly agree with this GIR way of thinking , it's certainly less stressful than getting up and down to save par

      I'm smaller only 5,9 maybe 165 And was getting 240-270 with a hybrid and always left me a small wedge or 9 iron etc into a green .

    • @yoursimplegolfswing

      Well, if it was copied, it was copied 20 years before Brian Sparks was even born. Mike Austin developed the swing pre-1930s. Brian Sparks wasn’t born until 1950. If anybody copied anybody Sparks copied Mike Austin.

      The point is there is no such thing as one right way to swing a golf club. Different theories for different body types. We haven't even talked about Bryson, Matt Wolf or Moe Norman! Austin is tall and thin and it obviously worked for him.

    • @yoursimplegolfswing
      @yoursimplegolfswing 4 месяца назад

      I think that’s Golfs greatest lie. I did a video on that. Just because there are so many swings out there doesn’t mean there isn’t one swing that will work for everyone. There is a way to efficiently and effectively swing an ax that will work for everyone. But that doesn’t mean that everybody swings an ax the same way. Telling everyone that there’s a different swing for everybody type will for keep people searching for that one perfect swing that will work for them.I have had hundreds of students of all ages, body types, heights, weights, genders, and I have yet to find one who didn’t have incredible success with the swing that I promote in my videos and my online course. My students have ranged from the early teens all the way to 80 years old. The reason people think that there are different swings for different body types is because they’ve never learned the perfect swing. I guarantee that the Mo Norman swing will not work for everyone. It’s because it’s not the perfect golf swing.

    Wonderful optics on this important tutorial. You've expertly encapsulated the proper body mechanics demonstrating what a full swing should look and feel like in a 10 minute video. Took it to the range and people were commenting on how I was striping all clubs! Y.T. & T.T. instructors will probably try and get you banned....HA!, HA! Well done, mate!

    I Can't believe there are so many versions of Mike Austin's golf swing. I have only just finished watching his instruction with Mike Dunaway where emphatically states the left forearm and wrist rotate 90 degrees to the right on the takeaway! Please explain!

    • @yoursimplegolfswing
      @yoursimplegolfswing 4 месяца назад

      I teach the same thing. It’s impossible to take the club back without the forearms rotating because the bending of the right elbow causes the rotation naturally. The only way you could not rotate the forearms is if you kept your right elbow straight throughout the swing. That would be a very awkward and ineffective golf swing
