SECRETARIAT: Preakness - Run Free
Просмотров 3 тыс.13 лет назад
Thanks to Ron Turcotte's masterpiece ride here, we truly get to see the greatness of SECRETARIAT! Mr. Turcotte knew he was sitting on a powerhouse, he knew the horses on the lead were trying to slow the pace around the first turn, he knew that Big Red was also well within himself as the horse was telling him, "Let's roll!" Mr. Turcotte eased SECRETARIAT to the outside and the rest is history. 1...

Secretariat was just the perfect racehorse in beauty, physique, temperament, athleticism.
I cry as i watch him today on video as so many do. Thats all we have left
He had God given speed and stamina unmatched to this day. But the love that was bestowed on him by Penny, Eddie, Lucien and Ronnie, along with the whole of Claiborne farms filled his heart to epic proportion. There will be great horses, but there will never be another Secretariat!!
The horse that God built. Absolute perfection.
Perfection!❤❤❤ He still makes me cry !
🔵THEY MESSED IT UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VIDEO WITH THE STUPID HEAVY METAL SONG!🔴
Best
I also have a locket of Flatter his great grandson by His grandson Super Sire Super Racer AP Indy and his beautiful daughter Trusted Company. All 4 have passed and when I pass I pray to God I can meet them 🏇🐎👑🏆🌟💛🥰💖💝🐖💙🌈
I have been to Claiborne 2x The first time I did a double tour. Beautiful horses and the grooms were awesome. I mailed Mrs Pastures cookies. War front loves them. Blame only wants Peppermints. I went over to his paddock which is Runhappy's now. I looked out and over. I felt his spirit running free 🏇🐎👑🏆🌟💛🌈💙🙏Love you Secretariat 💝💖🥰
He had a big neck even when he was a baby.
Indeed!
Thank you! Beautiful....
Belmont...2:24... NEVER will be broken!
A better Horse may come along but there will Never be another Secretariat
I watch Secretariat’s racing videos all the time, and I usually break down sobbing when I finish………
I was married to a great man in June 23, 1973. Same victory month as our Amazing Secretariat winning those jaw dropping races! We celebrate 50 years June 23, 2023! I knew I did the right thing!
There will never be another Big Red. Ever.
He sure was perfect!
😮 I heard🌪 🚨 going off in Carrollton. I gathered my cats and dogs and hid in the only inner closet. A coat closet so tiny that I had all cats and dogs in their carriers and I placed my body on top of them. Now, I'm just 87lbs, so this did not crush the metal carriers. I'll guard my babies with my life.
Every time I see this beautiful greatest of all horses a tear comes to my eye realizing that he is gone. But he will never be forgotten as long as there is horse racing!
1973 was a remarkable year in sports. Not only did Secretariat win the Triple Crown and set track and world records in all three races, but Nolan Ryan won 20 games for the first time in his career (21), while setting a single season record for most strikeouts (383), throwing two no-hitters, 26 complete games, and 4 shutouts. On September 27, Ryan went 11 innings vs. Minnesota and posted 16 K's to top Sandy Koufax's single season strikeout record.
One might be tempted to think the captions were hyperbole. And then you remember... they are for Secretariat and altogether perfect to describe him.
Absolutely awesome horse. Eddie Sweat and Secretariat love the picture.❤❤❤
Secretarist had one human being that loved him, nutured him, into a perfect personality and that was Eddie. Out if everyone he deserves most of the credit in raising this beautiful creature into the ultimate horse . God Bless him..fir we all enjoyed and got lifted into seeing perfection!!❤
👍👍👍All the best pics!!!😊
I didn’t know who he was until my husband who loved horses and betting and going to the track or the flat in New Jersey. He told me who he was and we watched him on TV for the derby and the Preakness and then through horse friends of his he got tickets to the Belmont and we went as a first anniversary trip and I have to say that other than having my children it was the most exciting day in my life. I can still feel the excitement. I fell in love with him over the TV and when I saw him in person I was completely in love and today every time I see something on RUclips, I watch it to bring back that feeling, the sound, the screaming that went on while he was circling that felt like, he was going to take off. I mean he was still racing after the finish line he could have gone on for another half mile. He didn’t want to stop and I am sorry they didn’t raise him in his fourth year when he was more developed because he loved to run. . That’s what made him happy and I think he would’ve shown us even more.
At four, Secretariat would have won the Prix de’ le Arc de Triumph! Hold every record at every distance, and it would have just been a natural progression for this animal. Baring foolish human interference!
Belmont win 31 lengths
Incredible horse!!
All those mucules in his body.
He was born to run.
He was not perfect, but he was a tremendous racehorse, in the tc, and later on in the fall.
Just a beautiful story
Amen!
It brings tears to my eyes everytime I see him run, it's just something I can't help doing, I always thing he looks like poetry in motion...fluid!
Thank you Big Red...🌟
I did the same thing! I picked Secretariat in all three races! I was only 11 at the time!
God knew what he was doing! Beautiful beautiful Secretariat.
Secretariat came at a very difficult time in our history , with the Vietnam war going on and watergate . We needed a hero at that time to lift us up and big red was that hero. He will always be loved and adored.
I can't get over her perfect he is.. God's perfect horse he gave us what we needed not what we asked for
I'm so blessed I was born when I was. I've seen JFK, Secretariat, moon landing...everything since the 50's. It's been an honor. Secretariat remains at the top of the list for me as an example of champion. I've always judged horse racing by their heart.
There is no better description of Secretariat than “God’s Perfect Creature.” Thank you for posting this video.
Secretariat was an perfect horse. As an ex-competition rider, the power of a horse is a wonderful thing. Secretariat’s power could not be matched. He was beautiful!
God made this horse, and whispered in his ear “ go”.
Remember the riders did nothing but hold on and enjoy the ride!
THE WORLD CONTINUES TO WITNESS GOD'S TRIPLE EVENT OF THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE ON EARTH. RIP BIG RED!
Greatest horse ever-with his huge heart, stride, and lungs- God created the perfect racing machine and blessed us here on earth! Long live Big Red!
The only thing you need to know, he was running 36 mph the first time past the post and 39 mph the last time , he ran each quarter mile faster then the last….I fell in love with this beautiful big red horse at 10 and at 59 i still call him big red.
Every time I watched the movie it brought tears to my eyes, and god knows how many times I have watched it.
Eddie Sweat loved that horse like no other!!! He talked to him constantly about how much he loved him and told him what a great horse he was. Eddie took care of him and was so gentle and loving with him and to him. Yes Eddie Sweat played a huge role in Secretariat life and had a huge role in how Secretariat acted and his growth into being a grown stallion. As Penny Tweedy said her Dad said Eddie knew what a horse was thinking just by touching them. Thank You Eddie Sweat for taking care of and teaching the greatest horse that ever lived!!! P.S> when I watch asst. groom Jerry with Rich Strike it makes me think about Eddie and Big Red.
He had a presence about him and I can only Hope & Pray to be found accountable for Christ Jesus... because Secretariat will be there 🙏✝️🙏 Amen HalleluYah
