OK but if want the loop to be tight around the handle (or say, around a tree), when and how do I pull it tight? I tried making a loose bowline loop but then I couldn't make the loop any smaller

You can also loop it through the handle then create a bowline that loops over the rope leading under the handle. That way you can pull the bowline tight around the handle.

Tried it with 4 times through the loop at the end and it's extremely strong 💪

I tried tying this knot 4 times. 2 out of the 4 times the mono broke off in 2 pieces at the end of the loop where it meets the braided line.

Great video - would you reccomend this for smaller line as well? Trying to tie 6lb fluro to 8lb braid and not overlapping the wraps is tough for me

Great video. Question: how long of a flourcarbon leader should you have? I was thinking not quite the length of rod so that when you cast, or retrieve, the knot does not enter the first eye of rod. Thoughts?

Great tutorial, take it a step further and add 3 or 4 wraps in the loop as well to make the Improved albright. I find that it makes a difference when using skinny line for ultralight fishing.

Bravo! This is the best method, performed from the perspective of a man-overboard that's been tossed a line. This is the right-handed version. There's a left-handed version as well. A right-handed person will typically grab the line with the left hand, draw the loose end around the waist with the right and then complete the knot as shown. This is a lifesaving knot.

This one failed waaaaaaay to often on me. Anyone knows a good knot that can be used to tie a very thin line to a thick line? FG doesnt work very well in that cade, albright is to weak...

nice tempo, but an overhand flip bowline is much easier and faster.
