Can't wait to see what photos you take on the 500t.
dude I can’t wait, been saving it for a special camera 👀
Hey! really useful video, thanks! I'm new to 35mm flash photography and would love to know how best to get shots in focus using my F3 and a speed light at a wedding event/ indoor party? Would you recommend using the F3 and a speed light, or since it doesn't have autofocus, is it better to use something with autofocus instead? I love that speed light/film/flash look, but I'm not sure how film cameras with speed lights get things in focus if they don't have autofocus. Is there a way around this like perhaps just using a narrow aperture? Thanks :)
Hi Hanna, definitely practicing focus is going to be key. What you can also do is use a smaller aperture like f8-16 that way you’ll have a much larger depth of field / focus area to work with. Also If you have a wide angle lens like a 28mm that will also help in combination with a smaller aperture to increase your focus area. Definitely practicing will help, maybe if you have a digital camera you can replicate your film camera setting onto that and set your camera to manual focus and use that as a text camera.
@@ishkhanghazarian Thanks so much for your help! I will get practicing :)
@@hannahelizaj my pleasure!
Film is just the most money grabbing sell sell sell hobby I have. I understand panels for davinci resolve, or mixing and mastering in pro tools or other daws. But to convert film? There’s really no purpose for something like this. Surely there are enough new film scanners to sell us on that these little useless gadgets don’t need to be advertised. I guess a money grab is a money grab smh Can we go back to when everything wasn’t just a quick scam. Let’s normalize actually adding useful non money wasteful resource wasteful things to our lives and let people be sold on those. Let’s stop playing on the worlds lack of impulse control and over shopping gear needing habbirs
Hey, I recently got this flash for my Olympus OM-10 but it doesn't work. I've tried setting it up in manual mode with 1/60 of shutter speed for sync but no luck. Any solution for this? Works really well on my digital cameras though.
@@aaqilabdulrahman9788 hey I should work with the OM-10, do you have the manual shutter speed attachment? The camera is mostly a A priority camera so so you might have to get the manual shutter speed attachment so set it to 1/60. feel free to send me a photo of your camera on Instagram.
Bruh im gonna need that grip! Whered u get it
check out my “other links” in the description, got a gear page, you’ll have to put the pieces together, plenty of options available!
it match with fuji xe3? please!
@@aothaiphong5436 Hi, yes it’ll work with any camera work a standard hot shoe.
I really like those reds. They don't seem to fight so much with the accurate blues too. Also, I couldn't help but notice your name. Soma Irani hasteed?
@@roguesodyssey yes that colours are very well balanced! I’m Armenian 😬
These are great! I've always said that shooting Aerocolor IV at ASA-100 overcooks the film, but it works amazing at 160! I'll have to grab a roll next time I'm near Downtown Camera to give it a try!
definitely!! I'm so impressed with the results, I think you'll enjoy it at 160!
Nothing really new about the film but I do love the results you produce. I've used Aerocolor before and shoots lots of different films on my own channel. I have found it a bit muddy. Were your photos from the Hasselblad?
Photos were taken with the Leica Mini ii, also the benefit to these rolls is it does have DX coding so works great with point and shoots!
Very interesting that something like this would be made in Armenia.
so cool right!!

thank you so much Nick! For sure, I love sharing the behind the scenes!
oh funny i just got one for my x100s and film cameras :D havent put it through its paces yet
oh amazing, you're gonna love it Moe!
Hi! Thanks for sharing the thoughts. I got a question, I have the exactly same setup as you but i don't know what to do with the shutter speed, do I leave it on X mode, or I can just use auto mode, but I think leaving it in auto mode will be overexposed the film, so it's really confused for me...
Hi there, my pleasure. Yes that's correct you'd set your flash sync on X. For the shutter speed with a Hasselblad you can use any speed, the shutter is a leaf shutter so it will sync with the flash at all speeds. Your shutter speed will mostly depend on the ambient light of the environment you're shooting in, this way you can control how bright or how dark your "background" will be compared to your flash output, which will be set using the aperture of the lens.
@@ishkhanghazarian Thank you so much for the information! I will try it out :) Thanks!
Could you give me some information about the crossbody camera bag you are using? Thank you in advance
@@tranoai2861 hey I actually have a what’s in my bag video coming out either later this week or the following week! stay tuned!!
@ishkhanghazarian Cool! I'll be sure to check it out. I'm really interested in that bag.
Rad. 👍
thank you so much! Pretty cool product!
Great video! Just watned to ask, what shutter speed is assumed to be used when you look at the chart on the back? My leica has 1/45 speed for flashes, but obviously the chart is pointless if its based on a higher flash speed then the one I'm using.
@@fartman633 your shutter speed will usually be the only constant and that’s determined by your cameras sync speed. You’ll be adjusting your aperture and flash power accordingly to the iso/distance scale on the flash, that’s what will determine your exposure.
This camera is sooooo incredible, you make magic with it! I can't wait to see what else you shoot with it!
@@albinwhisperland I really appreciate it, I love all the photos I created with this camera! Unfortunately I had to send the camera back already 😭, but if Fujifilm is listening…please me one again

thank you so much! Im really enjoying these incidental improvements to my videos, so much more to come!!
The Smart Convert software application and the hardware device appear to be identical. Why do you need the hardware? I must be missing something.
@@myronachtman4304 Hi Myron, you don’t need the control panel to use the software. The control panel is an additional accessory for someone that wants to use a ‘lab style’ physical control panel to add to their film scanning experience. It provided the analog / tactile / visual experience to simulate the older lab scanner control panel for people that would like to have that separation from their computer key board / mouse.
Do you get newton rings from the acrylic sheet? Thank you for making this video.
from my testing I have not had any newton rings. you're welcome, glad I could help!
I tried the software and I found it hard to really get the fine control I was looking for, no matter how small of an increment I used. I really loved that way of working with an image though.
@@TaylorTheOtter I totally understand, I love the workflow as well, maybe in future update we’ll have some more fine adjustments features, it’ll definitely come in handy!

Glad I could help! Appreciate your support!
I bought 2 of those Hasselblad H accessory, to be used with the Doomo light meter. As for the simple flash, well I like that it is small and should work well with my Nikomat and Zf.
they’re really cool little accessories to add to your kit!
“Tiny”💀💀💀
they got 5 flashes in their RETRO series so plenty of sizes to choose from if this ones not for you.
👌✌️
thank you 🙏🏻
Super cool brother ❤ is the light meter accurate and worth it ? Sorry could you give me the model please 🙏 Peace ✌️ Keep on shooting on ! Tommy
Hey Tommy, it’s the Reveni Labs Incident Meter. I have an entire review about it in my channel, highly recommend you check it out!
It looks entertaining. I digitize using a camera, bulk invert in Negmaster BR, then I have saved profiles in DxO for different film stocks to apply default processing settings. I'm typically done in 15 minutes per roll (sometimes less). From what I can see, with this software, I would still end up in DxO for retouching work, histogram optimization, etc. At first glance this software doesn't appear to leverage camera raw files to pull out the best results for dynamic range. I'll end up testing it for myself though. It's going to be hard to beat Negmaster quality, as IMO it beats both Filmlab and NLP. If I was still using archaic Silverfast Negafix and a traditional scanner, this software appears appears superior. As a one-stop solution, it appears to fall well short of what Filmlab App can do. I wish the Filmomat people had just partnered with Filmlab App. Filmomat is splitting their R&D across hardware and software, and I don't think that makes sense for a small company. I *do* love the novelty and simplicity of lab-style controls. If I had more time, I'd probably look at remapping the keys on this device to match the DxO shortcuts :)
