Tosen used his bankai again in turn back the pendulum. Its a bit subtle. Its when all the vizard captains get engulfed in black and cant hear anything then get hollowfied, then we see tosen aizen and gin show up

I like Soi Fon’s shikai and bankai. She is an assassin and great at it, but it isn’t fully her true nature. She was born into it, admired Yoroichi and wanted to be just like her. Her shikai shows this aspect. But in wanting to be like someone implies you are not currently like them. Soi Fon is explosive, fun, independent, and a rebel. Her bankai shows this true nature of herself. She hates it because it isn’t who Yoroichi is. (Or is it who she truly is? There can be a deeper aspect here of image of someone being far different than the truth of someone’s being. There are a lot of hints to this being the case that Soi Fon is sadly exactly like her idol yet views her differently and feels inferrior to that image of her) A lot of really cool stuff to work with and dive in with her

Zeref was a victim of a cruel supernatural entity imo. He could’ve just cursed zeref to die or at least lifted it once he found the true value of life or death. Or perhaps the being that cursed him at foresight and wanted to bring some positive change from those he cursed. However it was messed up what zeref and mavis had to go through. Of course zeref would become evil and eventually not value life or killing. He was a victim, yes he was evil and needed taken out but the excessive curse caused his descent into evil.

Robin is largely a grappler in a series that prioritises hits; sadly I just don't think Oda knows what to do with her fighting style. It's a shame, for sure, but I'm not sure there's a good solution; her powers are pretty simply either overpower the opponent and win in an instant or struggle to do much with the main fights she has had being her limited in some way by not wanting to damage the ruins on Skypeia, or not wanting to just break the zombie Cindry in her team up with Chopper, or Trebel and Sugar both having touch based powers (and ya know, not wanting to break the neck someone she thought was a child) in her team up with Usopp. But that fight is also kinda important to mention because even though it's a two on two and doesn't get the fan focus the one on ones get it is one of the most important battles in all of the Dressrosa arc, we shouldn't be underselling Robins' importance here just because Usopp got the final "attack" (or arguably Sugar self destructed). Now sure, Nami not having one on one fights is a little more confusing given he's been actively finding ways to give her power ups to keep up with the Haki lads (and I'd argue dropped the ball by not letting her climatact eat Monet's snow snow fruit after it got a soul/personality in Zeus, but to be fair there is time and we have a vegapunk on board now so it could be time) but she has been pretty consistently the best fighter for dealing with large groups barr Luffy for a long time. Shonen prioritises the one on one fight in structure, but I think Nami probably has more KOs under her belt than any of the big 4 barr Luffy who is of course the main character and is she could get an upgrade to her cold (snow snow) and heat (daughter flame) moves the way she's gotten a buff to lightning she should be able to keep that lead no issue.

Bringing up JoJo's as a counter for One Piece characters is so funny bc there really is no Strawhat that can compare to how drastically JoJos characters change depending on which part theyre in 😭

in retrospect, i think the popularity of this theory was just a way for people to express that they wanted wano to feel emotionally heavy and serious for the main characters in a similar way to arcs like enies lobby, hell even WCI felt more dire and down to the wire than wano

DS9 is a great series.

Great video that actually perfectly encapsulates my exact feelings on Zeref. Zeref is one of my favorite villains of all time and my favorite in Fairy Tail. He is perfect for the story. Fairy Tail is ultimately a story about friendship. So the ultimate villain being someone so kind and gentle that he'd be willing to commit a cardinal sin, reviving a the dead, to see his loved ones again. But then being cursed for that sin to kill his loved ones. So to protect his loved ones he'll have to destroy the empathy and love in his heart. But when that happens he no longer cares for any harm that would come from his loved ones including even from himself making him a broken and selfish man by the end of the story and the true villain. And this is just his themes. Let alone his buildup and his goal being to literally recreate the timeline making his life happier; but erasing the hundreds of chapters/episodes we had aventuring with the characters we have come to care about. The curse let's us sympathize with Zeref while still making sense of his accursed actions later in the series.
