I couldn't find the colour I want in shops, and everything online is above what I'm willing to spend, so I thought, how hard could it be to make one?

Anyone stumbling on this, if you don’t like the standard thimbles you can get leather ones that have a smaller metal piece in them, they fit a bit better if you have larger fingers

Thanks for the excellent video. I've done four now and they are getting better, fast. No more struggling with buttonholes on a domestic sewing machine - they always need several practices to get all the settings right and never come out that well anyway.

Oooh I’ve always seen square shaped rolled hems, I like the diagonals, triangles are much stronger shapes structurally, thank you so much!

It was impossible for me to use the thimble . Sometimes our body and mind can not perform little things like that .\ But after 3 years of stitching with my bare finger , that part of the finger have become hard so it is like I always wear the thimble now ( sry for bad english )

I watched another show where they've made a four piece bespoke suit to a customer and the last phase where the tailor "blessed" the suit before sewing buttonholes. It was amazing and eye opening for me to see such quality but they've left the part out when they did the buttonholes. Weeks later I put on an old blazer I had laying around and looked at the buttonholes and wondered how they've where made by hand. Found this video that answered it completly! Also happy to see another left handed person use the needle, other tutorials with right handed people sometimes confuse my brain when I try to replicate it with the left hand. Thank you for this video!

I wish it were done on a lighter colored fabric, maybe using a contrasting thread. Also it is harder to stitch buttonholes on two ply fabric because the layers shift. Please make a video on a real jacket/coat.
