This was the most bizarre plot twist of the entire TMNT series, in terms I expected a mutant clone like in the comics when we talks to shredder weird fate, not an Ultrom, in terms this makes him the shredder at the same time the krang of his world (although there is a krang in his world too but it is just a normal Ultrom)

Gotta wonder if he’s entirely evil. He did respect the Mystics but that could be due to pragmatism as they are probably more than even he can handle (similar as to why he did nothing in the Triceraton invasion). The main argument is his relationship with Karai. There were moments even when no one else was around so no act was required that he did genuinely care for her as a daughter. Also notice how despite her failure in obtaining the chip from Bishop, she faces no punishment or even so much as a scolding. Of course he did attack Karai when her honour got in the way but one has to wonder if he really felt something.
