Bird-dropping Crab Spider (Phrynarachne decipiens) from the rainforest of Sabah, Borneo (Malaysia).

This species of tropical crab spider is mimicking a semi-solidified bird faeces in its appearance, color, shape, size, smell and behavior.
This dung-mimic spider crouches still on a leaf exhibiting a complex combination of color and form
The spider is stationary, sitting on its thin patch of irregular white silk web accurately simulating a patch of dried up bird dropping on a prominently placed leaf.
The effect is to create the impression of a half-solid bird's dropping with black specks surrounding a raised white center...

They're allegedly much louder in person. Must be making more high pitched noises
Going to CR next month and this is one of many species on my list I hope to get. There's just something about bellbirds and other cotingas I can't describe. They have an almost supernatural quality to them, especially due to the volume and perching high up on exposed branches. They are literally on another level from other birds and for me just hearing the terms "umbrellabird" or "fruitcrow" makes them seem like these ethereal, spiritual creatures
