Landscaping can be very dependant. There are some things that will give you a return, and others that look nice but will not add value. It can also be very dependant on the area you are in and what the surrounding homes look like. In general, the buyer's real first impression of your home, is when they are driving up your driveway and walking to the front door. A clean cut cared for yard is always a good rule of thumb. Clean your walkways and the driveway, (especially from the moss if here in the pacific northwest). Make sure to have your lawn, hedges and trees trimmed. Fill in any mulch or gravel needed and consider adding seasonal flowers or decor pieces to make the entrance a warm and welcoming. In the backyard…create a welcoming entrance to the backyard via the patio. Make sure the lawn furniture and grilling area are clean.

I think the “lack of diversity” isn’t really nearly as bad as similar rural states. Your region brings in a true melting pot of individuals from all over the world and country. Any lack of diversity is made up for by the eclectic range of personalities and true individualism that is rare to find in other places in the nation.

Yes! It was taken around the same window we now have our UFO Festival every year with speakers from all over, live music, parade and much more. :-) (This year, 2023, it is held May 18-20)

Hi Julie, Thank you, I am happy to hear they may have been of some help :) You pose an interesting question. Without doubt we are in a walkable small community with luxuries normally reserved for vacations and larger communities and nature surrounds us in all directions. I have been to Hood River and Bend each a few times, but neither more than that. Hood River is a fun walkable town with a great vibe, food and drinks, with hiking surrounding them. When I have been there it has happened to always be on very windy and rainy days, but I believe wind is common as they are a HUGE area for wind surfers (fun to watch). I believe their weather is very similar to ours in McMinnville yet with more chances of snow. Bend I have been in both winter and summer and luckily always caught sunny weather. IF you love the outdoors, Bend is amazing for everything you can think of outside during all seasons. They do have more of a 4 season year compared to McMinnville as they def have snowy winters.... going skiing there though, the one thing I always notice is the sun is out shining on the snow! McMinnville winters are more overcast with clouds more than sun. I am not familiar with triggers for depression other than when living in AK, the darkness effected people if they did not use UV lamps and keep very active. I know the grey has always been a hard adjustment for me personally and I do take trips every few months to soak in sun for a couple of days to break up the winter months between Nov and March which for me makes a world of difference (though I am also a person that loves to travel and hates sitting in one place too long!) The three areas are very different feels, I would definitely suggest an exploration trip and would honestly suggest in the winter to really give you the true feel of what the hardest time of the year could be.

Tiera, I am not sure the age you are thinking when you say kids, but there is a bit of everything for everyone! McMinnville has a ton of parks with all activities from walking areas to playgrounds, water features, skateparks, basketball, pickleball etc. www.mcminnvilleoregon.gov/parksites The Park and Rec Dept., Library and Pool all have monthly activities year round for all ages. There is an arcade, movie theater, year round sports, dance studio, and theater that all ages can also enjoy or participate in. Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum is here along with their indoor waterpark. Regarding day trips out of town, there are many beach access points within 45-90 min from here depending on what beach you are going to (each has a different feel and activities, including one being the Tillamook Cheese Factory). We are an hour from Portland with the Zoo, Children's Museum, and OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), just under 2 hours to Mt Hood Adventure Park for winter and summer fun, and within 30 minutes you can be in Hagg Lake or numerous river areas for boating and kayaking. Hiking and waterfalls for all ages can be found anywhere from 20 - 90 minutes away. I am sure I am missing things, but off the top of my head, this may give you a feel. :-)

This was a great video and I'd love to see more like this around McMinnville neighborhoods. I'd love to see the neighborhood around the Discovery Meadows Community Park and SW Fellows St as this area appears to have the best schools according to Zillow and is walkable to third street! I am in the middle of my next video which is the Jandina subdivision, the area between 2nd and Fellows near Discovery! Yes walkable to third with a wonderful walking/biking path through a green space between the neighborhoods. Along with the schools, I love this area with having Discovery park so close and quick access to go north or south out of town when traveling or for those that commute. I expect to have this next one out within the next week :-) Truly appreciate the feedback!

I am not sure to be honest. I know I have seen online that it was listed as the longest paved, but I am not sure in to what comparison. All being said though, being as it can accommodate private jets and is hosting again this year the Oregon International Air Show, you may be correct. (oregonairshow.com/mcminnville-event-2022/)

The market has definitely been ever changing the last few years. It will continue to evolve, and for everyone, hopefully to a more balanced market, but the lack of available land will keep things tighter in this area versus some other areas of the country.
