All of our winches have a free spool. Why we didn't use it as it saved having to walk all the way to the truck to release it, walk it out then walk back to lock again. Just easier to winch out & not move too far on foot. Moving around enough on a slippery hill as it was

I enjoy the extra challenge of taking the trailer

@@bartdeking totally agree The argument is that we can’t even get emergency vehicles out there without going in from each end of the beach Rimmer’s was our access for years and a good exit point if the tide got to high

@@MoHafiz-tm9py jump onto google maps or google earth and start at Bailey’s Beach and follow down the beach south and you will clearly see the tracks behind the dunes The water does come right up at full tide And yes the tracks have plenty of side tracks to the beach Check out our 3 part Pouto videos and you will get an even better idea of what’s there

@@lukepaul2882 it’s not easy is it I have just orders another 6 litres of “Salt Shift” for the chassis washer and also there underbody chassis blaster now You have to keep at it and touch up bits as you see the paint ware thin Truck is 3 years old now so by year 5 I might be getting chassis blasted and painted

Don’t winch off a tow all, they are not designed for that type of loading. Tow balls are only for towing trailers.

@@shadowfax49 the guy who owned the Landcruser didn’t have a rear tow point fitted ! I did tell him it wasn’t a good idea to tow in reverse and said just pull back slowly and if it doesn’t move just stop

@@JL2OFFRD yea mete he use to ride with us on road bikes unfortunately he had a huge accident which I believe almost killed him! I have haven’t seen him in a couple of years now.

Yes you need a permit but is free and can be done on line through Auckland Council website
