Mokau Coastline ( New Zealand )
stopped here to have a look at the coastline here just south of Mokau.
Was actually a calm sea , have seen it much more wild with big swells.

It is amazing what we can become "used to" and ignore. I afraid the rising generation knows nothing about tolerating accomodating and moving on. I used work for the US Forest Service many years ago. When fire fighting we did what had to be done when it needed to be done. Sometimes that meant being up for more than 24 hours working. Not fun not desirable but sutuation required a couple times.

I would like to try silicon nitride bearings in my 8v92 2 stroke turbo bond rebuild time. Mine just had the stock tool steel bearings and I’m running BRP-XD-100 with a touch of amsoil interceptor 2T. That shit works great. It’s got a garret turbo that darn near spins forever it flick it by hand. I aimed a leave blower at it when it was not running and I could hear it mske that jet engine wine.

Interesting not many have noticed this video. He used speed to tidy hide landing but couldn't hide that it was getting ugly on take off. We had an airstrip in the 1980's that had good elevation over the edge of the pad 1200ft reasonably steep and plenty of length with a 400 ft drop off the end it also had a big bin able to hold 600 or 700 tons. This Mclean guy was trying to set the record for a fu24 400 for tons spread in a day. On the first attempt he got going and was really making good progress , when he came into land and jumped out of the aircraft and unclipped the engine cowling. He did the same on a couple on runs latter and had to admit defeat and go home with a cracked head. A week or so latter he came back and tried again, he had appositely scuppered the record by morning tea time but shortly afterwards he hit into a strong on shore winds. He tried valiantly for a while but he was getting so he was facing nearly sideways as he came in then gunning it and dropping onto the strip at high speed. He was way off lunch time but he was close to shattering the 1/2 day record but he couldn't get another 10 to 20 mins to set it. Frustrating !
