PWS UXR .308: Initial Impressions and First Range Trip
Просмотров 6 тыс.15 дней назад
In this video, I share my first impressions of the PWS UXR chambered in .308, a rifle that has surprisingly little user feedback or reviews available. So far, I’ve only put 100 rounds through it, and I understand there’s a break-in period, but I wanted to provide my early thoughts on its build quality, shooting experience, and design. I’ll cover the pros and cons I’ve identified so far, focusin...

Fancy expensive guns like breast implants in the wife, they are interesting and enjoyed by the guy who picks them up after you are dead.
Yeah I don't care how they mince it - if the piston doesn't travel all the way back with the BCG, that isn't a long stroke piston.
The jumping of the video made this painful to watch. I hope you will re-shoot and re-post the video. I just couldn't get thru the whole thing.
Yeah sorry about that, unfortunately my SSD decided it didn’t want to record correctly while I was recording that. I was gonna refilm it when I do the 500 rnd update for the UXR
Hey brother, love the content but the audio is super low.
Thanks for the heads up man, still working through the production kinks!
Greetings from switzerland, love the content! I met the B&T guys a few months ago at a reopening, very cool guys 😊
Thank you, glad you’re enjoying the content! I hope I’ll get to meet them at some point, I appreciate them for always trying new things and their love for retro guns!
B&T was not in the SCAR program.
Yeah it was about 10yrs too late to compete in that. The “Swiss SCAR” is kind of an unofficial nickname in the US, since it looks fairly similar to the FN SCAR and is about the same price
@@OddlyArmedI wonder how someone could give so much money for the scar. Before it was proven to suck okay but now, especially in 5,56. I think it's closed for most shit gun next to the krink. And if I didn't have one in basic the scar may even beat it.
I actually really like my SCAR 16, never had any issues with it whatsoever, even when using it in some pretty terrible conditions
Very cool, I have the APC9 dude lol. When I grow up, I wanna be as cool as you!!!!
That subsonic round right?
Nope it’s just standard 55gr M193
Caliber?
It’s a 5.56
Just a AR dude, dam
I remember looking at these a few years ago because I was bored with my ARs and discovering that too many reviewers had issues. I can’t recall what the issues were and was surprised there were any to begin with given how good their sub guns are.
I think the main issue at the beginning was wear in the BCG around the cam pin, mines been good in that area though and I haven’t had any durability issues at all
My understanding is the apc556 is largely marketed towards special police teams. Ive seen a few in the hands of international legions in Ukraine. These are. Really heavy
That’s good info, thanks! Yeah I wasn’t able to find much information at all on what police/mil units are actually using the APC556
@OddlyArmed yeah it's a cool peice, I know they lightened them but but I'm not a huge fan of any 5.56 rifle that isnt a DI gun, but I like these far better than basically any other option. They actually balance nicely
@ have you tried a CZ Bren 2? They’re about as light as you’re going to get for a military piston rifle, and I actually prefer mine over the APC in a lot of ways
@OddlyArmed I have it was okay but it was very inaccurate which is probably a little bit me and alot the steelcased we were shooting that day but it was shooting 7moa groups at 50 yards which put a rather bad taste in my mouth and probably wasn't representative of them as a whole. I'm not being a snob even but my AR which isn't fancy at all was pulling about 4.5moa out of the same ammo
Yeah my Bren 2 hasn’t been anything to write home about in accuracy, although it is 7.62x39 so I think ammo is the short pole in the tent. For purely practical purposes a good AR is definitely the right choice for most people. Personally, I just find almost all ARs boring from a collectors prospective, other military rifles are just more interesting.
very cool, I love this gun, got to shoot one in Texas at RifleGear Im too poor for B&T lol, but theyre a classy brand
They’re one of my favorites, have some cool designs and great cans, but yeah their guns are pricey
Wow!!!!! Du bist so coooooool. Du fuchtelst mit einem Gewehr rum. Was für ein superheld 😢.
The 6.8 version served me well during my deployments in Modern Warfare 3
I m am sure your grandfather is proud of your service 🫡
That is funny though. 😂
God told me that that rifle belongs to me.
5000 years ago?
Holy quiet… that’s sick
I was very interested in these when I saw them at shot show. There's been almost zero reviews on them since release and the conversion kit options have reduced. I was almost certain this thing wasn't going to make it. I have a gemtech upper which uses a bore evacuator and adjustable bcg. It works incredibly well for suppressing a DI gun. Curious how much difference it would make in a long stroke gun? I'm still not completely sold. The PSA JAKL does allot of the same things for $1200 less
Put another 200 rnds throughout today, and I can’t say that I noticed a major difference with the bore evacuator using my Saker 762. Still working through reliability issues on it, but I’ll keep shooting it and see if things smooth out a bit
Can I request a review on a laugo arms alien pistol?
Only if I can request a Laugo Alien 😂 unfortunately I don’t own one, they are cool pistols though!
Lol fair enough
My favorite stage at the range
It was a fun one, loooot of unhappy people about dunking the pistol in the bucket though
I love this rifle, great deisgn, looks so awesome. Thanks for sharing
Dang airsoft sure is getting realistic
The reloading was louder than the shooting wild
I think it’s just the audio mixing on it, even with the can on it this gun is pretty loud
This is cgi
No, this is Patrick
Bro, what's he talking about? You're in a block hall with little to no sound deadening. These are the what you do cqb with and you wipe out the enemies buddy from 1 room away and he doesnt have a clue
Got nail clippers in the armory
Nope, can’t reach the nose gold in the back without them
No sound or pop?
Definitely not the quietest since I have a HUXWRX HX-QD 556K on it, but for an 11.5 it’s not bad at all
No one wants this gun lol. “Sought after”
youre ignoring the fact that its cool af
It’s definitely sought after as a collectors rifle, purely practical shooters are better off going with an AR.
I mean you found this video dude. You must be seeking it
Shi I do
lol what? This is such a busted take
Great video, it's cool to see how replaceable some of the components are like the feed ramps
Thank you! Yeah they definitely put a lot of thought into being able to replace wear parts
I wish the ACR was real. Sadly it's just a prop from videogames
One suggestion for EVERYONE. I use DUPONT CHAIN SAVER… Its a WAX Paraffin spray with TEFLON (YELLOW CAN) or BORON Nitride (ORANGE CAN) . I spray it on everything… even if you wipe it off, the lube is still ON.. DOES not attract dirt. Can be found on. A- zon.
THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW. PLANNING on buying one, maybe 556 first…
Cool gun the recoil shocks the body more than an ar15 that is a downside when offhand shooting
Too many small parts, in combat ...too easy to lose some of those parts.
I remember a synthetic lower receiver. Wasn't around long.
PSA Jakl scratches the same itch. YMMV. ACR could have been something besides irrelevant.
Jakl is its long lost bastard child
The ACR is awesome. I like that they had barrels chambered in 6.8 spc. I hope 🤞 someone, some day will bring it back. Honestly I’m surprised someone hasn’t already. I’m sure Franklin Armory could use the ACR to boost their brand. Idk 🤷♂️ we’ll see what happens.
Right! Instead we have shit like the PSA Jackass.
Wish Magpul would just buy back the rights for this thing.
I remember I had a chance to buy one for 600 bucks back in like 2012 I’m slapping myself still 🤦♂️
Super underrated rifle
Absolutely, don’t see nearly enough of these at the range
Guess it has something to do with this being the SCAR at home but more expensive because of Swiss. 😂
Same ergonomics as most ar18. Nothing special
Bushmaster shot themselves in the foot with the pricing of the ACR. Part of the SCAR program requirement was that unit cost would not exceed $700. So the ACR should have come to the commercial market in the $900 range, tops. Not $2000+. The ridiculous markup on the ACR sank it faster than the Titanic and cemented the AR pattern rifle as the _de_ _facto_ standard for the next decade, and also set in motion the downfall of Bushmaster.
Well made video man very through and detailed, keep it up! Maybe try 10 round groups for accuracy, more realistic statistical preview of accuracy I’ve found
Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback! Yeah, I did a lot of thinking on what I wanted to do for accuracy, and I know it’s never gonna be perfect in that category and I’ll have to compromise somewhere since I’m self funded and can’t afford to be doing a lot of match ammunition, or a ton of groups for everything. If things go well, and I get an ammo sponsor or something I definitely wouldn’t mind upping the round counts though!
@ keep at it man!
Just get a jakl
"72-73 CE" 🤢 there's a weirdo named Karl who would probably love to signal boost your channel
Don’t be in a hurry to get parts from Templar. I ordered a barrel back in June and I’m still waiting
Not surprising unfortunately, I know it’s a small shop so things take a bit. It took me over 6 months to get a new barrel for my XCR from RobArms, and I’ve been waiting on an AR-70/90 build for almost two years
Can we ask Trump to flex America’s manufacturing and make this rifle for our fine troops? Or just me. Sorry everyone. can’t haz.
The fuck does this even mean? What is Trump going to do? Brain dead maga people I swear
I just picked up a iwi Carmel. Happy with it so far, definitely has acr vibes
Good pick! I’ve had my Carmel for a little over a year now, and I like it quite a bit overall
The carmel is an ACR with birthing hips
Sad... The ACR is pretty much over.
For the most part yes, Templar Precision is working on an ACR clone and both Bushmaster and Franklin Armory have been wanting to bring it back, so we will see what happens
