Back years later and I wonder:who else but Narada could hold this beat this slow and nasty & stil play fills *insane ones) like this without a tiny loss of groove??? Who - Purdie Stubblefield, Earl Palmer, Gaylord Birch ! Al Foster wiith Miles & Marcus - and for sure Backseat Betty is a similar line & feel? Birch makes an etude of funk fills on Reach Up by Santana, IMHO - about 2 dozen all in a row!
