In an age where social media, specifically WhatsApp, is amplifying unscientific hokum, and anecdotal evidence is treated as gospel, it is important that professionals like you step up to call BS. Reading through the comments, I see a lot of ad hominem (attack the motive), false dichotomy and appeal to tradition fallacies. Noone claims that lifestyle and better diet does not help. Noone is claiming that all of Ayurveda is useless (though its foundational tenets do not make much sense, but that's a different issue). But the responses seem to assume so. While criticizing modern medical practitioners, these people will cry themselves hoarse praising traditional practices but conveniently forget that the average life expectancy till less than a hundred years ago was barely 40 yrs.
