I live in Terre Haute. I-70 is a major highway for transporting drugs. A lot of the big busts are on I-70. I am a senior citizen and feel fairly safe. Also, I don't take any chances no matter where I am. The major crises are the roads, railroad tracks and what seems like an increase in vehicle accidents. Yes, there are drug and homelessness problems but this is true just about everywhere. It's an ok place to live.

2024: Excellent. In 1980 I lived in Dorset Ohio in my wife's grandmothers old house. I think that it is 7 miles from the town of Jefferson Ohio. I spent a bit of time there also and Ashtabula before it became a ghost town. Sad. There were and still are things that I fondly remember about Ohio. Thank You for posting this video. Best Regards

I live next to (but not in) a neighborhood in Indy where a million dollars could not buy a home...You would need a multiple of that amount. On summer nights, you can sometimes clearly hear gunfire from an entertainment district that is just a couple of miles away from those mansion homes. Last year, four people were shot to death in one night on those streets by a nineteen year-old girl. When police cordoned off the area they found six vehicles parked there that contained firearms. No permit is required in Indiana to buy or carry a gun.

I am a refugee from Illinois and moved to Indiana. Hobart has been my home now for over 30 years. I moved here because this area has provided myself and my family good paying jobs and a lower cost of living. The city government and services are top notch. Police and Fire are doing a great job covering the city. Close enough to Chicago to visit,but far enough away to avoid the hassles of big city life.

Bloomington is hit and miss depending which neighborhood you live in. But overall it's a pretty safe place to live (for a city this size) with beautiful neighborhoods and parks. Campus crime and a couple of high poverty places skew the data.

I'm planning on leaving IL for a few reasons. Politics is the first. There has been a shift from protecting law abiding citizens to protecting criminals. We don't need to be in the woke race with Commyfornia and New York to moral and financial bankruptcy. Taxes is a close second. My property taxes went up 18% this year after 8% last year, and that's on top of the daily taxes on literally everything which leads to the question asked in the video which is 'where are the taxes going?' That also taps into corruption as being another reason. Finally, I want to live in a state that still offers homeowners freedom on their own property. IL has found a way to require permits "tax" for any kind of renovation. A while back I was buying supplies to re-shingle my house and garage and storing the supplies in a shed until I was ready to start the project. While speaking with a city worker, I was told storing said supplies in said shed was against the law or against an ordinance. I've also been fined by the city for cancelling my garbage pickup because I was using a dumpster at work which was barely being used and my boss was happy that someone was using it.

I think Minneapollis is fine. Lived here all my life. Never been bothered by anyone. Own a modest home on the SE side. Lots of parks and trails and restaurants, bars. An uptick in crime the last few years for reasons well known. But slowly working these problems out. Please don't move here. Too many effing people already.

Don't forget Oglesby, TX. Population 957 and one grouch. We watch the grass grow. We are on HWY 84. We have to go to Gatesville or McGregor to do any shopping or eat out. 🥴
