Hi Jody, any chance you have a recording of Mr. Muchemore's arrangement of "Hey There?" Robert
Not that I know of. What year was that?
@@jonathanbell6809 Good question. Believe it was the 81-82 school year, and the soloist was Tom Daniels.
Who ARRANGED this chart, please?
Dave Wolpe
Total deja vu... except for the men's glasses being a bit more old fashioned, this session was about the same as what I experienced at the first rehearsal in NYC back in 1975. Possibly is was even the same Hotel. Of course the first piece we played through was the All-American High School Band March, just the same as in this video. Thanks for posting this.
Do you have any footage of other years for our Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival?
Still digitizing old video tapes stored at Portsmouth High School. Most of them are late 70s and early 80s. Will post all that return with content to this playlist
@@Crustation Thank you!! I have been trying to collect old footage of our annual Apple Blossom Festival.
@@mckyrbnsn I think there may be one more set from 1981 that I have yet to digitize. This video is the local Portsmouth NH TV coverage of the trip to Winchester: ruclips.net/video/b51x6jTTN88/видео.html
Might you know where this video came from? My father passed away recently and he was actually in the 1969 All American Band playing percussion. I actually got to see him in the video (I guess he was about 17) which was really neat. Anyways thank you so much for posting this!
This film was in a batch of videos from Portsmouth High School in New Hampshire. They had been stored away forever. I expect it was given to William Elwell, the director of the band, to help promote the All American Band. Portsmouth high school often has a participant. It was the only 16mm video in the batch. I am thrilled that you got to see your father in the video - it makes the expense of getting this one digitized worth it.
@@RWBBand Amazing! All I can say is that you so much!! He would frequently talk about his experience with the band, but to see what his experience must've been like actually put on film like this is something else for me and my family to watch.
Oh wow….. I was in this parade twice, in 1972 and 1973. Reading High Marching Band, Reading PA. Great memories! And here we are in 1978. I may have been there
That's why pickups that are like cars are going to takeoff. You have the utility of a truck but the comfort of a luxury car. Previously they have tired this trend before by just trying to convert pickups into lux trucks only to have people have issues with the size of the truck. Now we have decent size trucks like Rivian and Maverick that are specifically designed to be more comfortable on the road yet still be able to handle towing and offroad.
That's it...I'm onboard
Can confirm - Fall 1980
Pretty sure that all of the ones that are listed as "Early 80s?" are 80/81 - same show that took us to the Apple Blossom Festival in 1981.
Thank you so much for posting this, and for digitizing all of these shows. Labor of love for sure! So long ago, but one of the most memorable trips of my youth! Is there are Part 2?
I think that was the label on the tape - there was no companion to this that I found. There are still a couple videos to upload and a couple for digitize - I am hoping for another gem but I have almost completed the project.
@@Crustation Thank you so much for doing this :) It is a wonderful thing.
I was at this competition, living in the Lehigh Valley of PA and being a marching band nut. This band was amazing and I have always remembered how innovative and brilliant the marching and music were, especially Chattanooga Choo Choo. If I am not mistaken, on top of everything else it was pouring by the end of their show, and I think my sister and I hightailed it for the car, both of us soaking wet. Also, I think I remember the Clippers being the winning band of the competition. Thank you so much for posting this!!
Thanks - It has become a family tradition to travel to Allentown each August to see the DCI east shows (except for the past two years sadly). This was originally posted back when you could only post a few minutes at a time. The whole show is here: ruclips.net/video/IRwqbavHuIk/видео.html. Recently some additional videos of the Clippers from the 60s, 70s, and 80s were found. There is a playlist here: ruclips.net/p/PL1_jfFKULee1FFGd7XMwjpFDTwirA-BWo Some additional videos of the Festival of Colonies band competition with other bands is here: ruclips.net/video/h0NahUWGWk8/видео.html. Sadly Warren Muchemore who wrote all the music and designed the shows passed away last spring. But the band's director, William Elwell, is still in NH and after retiring from the high school started Great East Festivals which was eventually sold to the Boston Crusaders.
RIP Warren, an increadibly talented man I shall never forget. Things remembered-Trombone lessons, Golden Eagles, Portsmouth High Marching band....None would have been nearly as successful without his untiring work and extreme musical talents!
If only we had the video from 1974-75. It was the year we did Fiddler on the Roof and the colorguard were AMAZING doing the bottle dance from the wedding!
I have looked long and hard for this one but so far no luck.
A high school friend. So good to see a life well lived. Peace my friend.
Damn we were good. 1968 to 1971. Thanks for wonderful years and great memories.
took it a little slow, but that was a hilarious gag at the beginning 😂
Yay Laurie.
Loved being part of the mighty clippers
Makes me proud to be a PHS Alumni! 1991-1994!!!
What an absolutely amazing show. Excellent arrangement, awesome coreography and a fantastic performance!!!!
