The same route Ansel Adams took to take his famious "MONOLITH" photo in 1927. Ive also included my summit of grizzly Peak aka Sierra Point 2.0. Rest in peace. I appreciated your videos and your friendship for the time I’ve known you. I know your spirit will still be out here hiking these mountains until these domes crumble to sand. I hope you find peace in the journey, bro.
What happened??
@ car accident :( I don’t really know much of the details. CHP hasn’t released their report yet.

@ car accident :(
Congrats , I would love to get there but at 64 I doubt it.
Who can spot thank god ledge
RIP Michael Wackerman 10-28-2024 - I love you big pimp
I just hiked Halfdome solo the day after they took the cables down. Being out there in person is absolutely breathtaking. Great video!
I think this is my favorite !
Love the new stuff
Thanks
I have to be honest dude, this is not cool. We have to keep some of these spots as word-of-mouth only.
If you don’t like this than you def won’t like my other vids. Thanks for watching
@@yosemite-tv It’s not that I don’t like it, in fact, it’s one of my favorite day hikes in the whole world. I assume you understand the concept of secret spot versus popular hiking destination. I’ve been going to Yosemite every summer since about 1980. It wasn’t till about 1992 that I found out about Fern ledge, and that was because I had a friend who worked there, and knew a lot of locals. Think about it for a minute, there’s a reason this wasn’t in a guidebook back in the 80s, or some blog page in the 90s. And it seems to have taken quite a while for someone to post a RUclips video about it.
This is not the first video of the for fern Ledge on RUclips. This is not new information. This is not in loser guide books from the 90’s because those boomers who wrote those books didn’t know about it. Wake up and then grow up
@@yosemite-tv That’s just the kind of response I expected from some little Nepo baby POS with no sense of historical perspective. Yosemite is for your generation now, dude. Don’t forget to drop your Geo markers every 10 yards on the trail to Fern ledge. It’ll help out your clammy, white skinned, gamer little brother.
@@yosemite-tv Dude, you removed my response? Was there something offensive?
Putting this one on my list. I like how the hike doesn’t have (seemingly) many people but has killer views.
Yeah it’s definitely lower traffic than the trails in the valley. But can still get busy on weekends. Thanks for watching
Nice stuff! You’re in a great place for comet content.
Thanks
Found your business card at the gas station in Ahwahnee beside the Hitching Post restaurant and took a picture of it. Left it there for others to discover. Great video.
Thanks ! I was just there buying some beers. Cheers
Thanks!! Awesome :)
Those pics with that comet are something else. I read they believe that tail is 18 million miles long?; absolutely nuts
Wow, that’s crazy. I had no idea it was that big. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching
I'm very familiar with the rockfall trail because it's the walk-off trail for a few short climbs that I have done on Sunnyside Bench. No climbs were more than three pitches. I did not know about fern ledge when I was there.
Yosemite means "they come to kill" I think we need to have more respect for our Native Americans from California and the Northern Americas. As a native my self it's hard to see all the trash left in mountains and a long the shorelines of higher level lakes. 3:35
Kinda. I mean, technically Yosemite doesn’t mean anything, and is just a word made up by Lafayette Bunnell. But the two words he used (yohhemeti - “they are killers,” isimiti - “great bear” (uzumahti variant)) mashed together would technically mean “they are killers” using the primary word yohhemite for the translation, though Lafayette believed his word to be a better version of uzumahti than any native variant, intending for it to mean “great bear/grizzly.”
I did this today, minus the final ledge (but there was no real point since the falls are unsurprisingly completely dry! )Thanks for describing it so well and sharing your knowledge.....this was a super fun adventure! Oh- and there are warning signs posted now at the top of the rock fall just before turning west.
Good to know, thanks for the update, try to go back next June if you can And thanks for watching
@@yosemite-tv I'll be back for sure 😀 I also found the Ledge Trail - and did ascend a while- but had no intention of going all the way up, so had to come down before it was too late. Lol.
Absolutely beauty in that rough natural park your doing what I enjoy doing thxs for the videos and keep on hiking--- I bring alone with me 2 Chesapeake bay retriever there the only ones i know that will hike along with me
Thanks 👍
Really enjoyed this one and the gear review !!
Thanks again! 🙏
nice video mate, try to get a Sony α7R V for what you do it is one of the best cameras, it will greatly increase the quality of your work, congrats.
All of my work is mostly shot on an a7r4 I’m tired of lugging around full frame. This camera holds up and cuts your kit in half
When you say “North Dome” while shooting Half Dome, you lose me as a sub
Bye
The views of Half Dome from North Dome are spectacular and a huge reason people hike to North Dome!
@ yes they are spectacular!
Ad. For his camera. He mentions the make and model. Fake hiking video. Actually it’s an advertisement disguised as a hiking video. He’s gettclick money from RUclips and a free camera. Scam. My opinion. 🤔👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Ewe
Would it be ok to link to your Bear swag in my videos with credit to your channel and a link?
Yeah no prob, I’d really appreciate that
6:26 yea man that's a great shot! Wow. Thanks for doing this one. I've really always n wanted to do this hike but it never materialized for one silly reason or another but can't count is out yet!
Yeah this one gets over looked. I like it at the end of summer when there are no waterfalls to chase
Love that view from North Dome. Gotta be amazing living in Yosemite and getting to go do these hikes on your days off.
Yeah, it’s the best
Love the light on those rocks and the camera captured it nicely!
Thank you very much!
That same tree to the right is in the Ansel Adam's photo too
www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/morning-hike-2734484-238?p=-1&sh=fuyuh1 This doesn’t include the full decent on Yosemite falls but that shouldn’t matter
There is also an easer way up the ladders in the creek fyi
Another banger!
Thanks again
Can you share a link to your alltrails activity? At least it looks like you were tracking it there.

Wow, amazing. How long did the route take round trip?
It took me all day because I was filming But you could knock this out in 4-6 hours if you were motivated
@@yosemite-tv I was wondering if there was a doable shortcut. Great video. I did the full trip last September with my wife and it took about 14 hours….we were taking our time, but definitely a long day.
Thanks for sharing - prefer your narration but good sounding
Your kidding me really 🙄😳
Yes it’s a joke
🎃🎃🎃
🙏
When talking safely and bears just remember not to use them in the same sentence 😁🙄
🏆
You obviously have never watched scarey bear attacks on you tube!!!🙄😳🎃😮!!!! 🙏
😊
The grizzlies are not interested in attacking, even with cubs ???
Correct
@@yosemite-tvBull!!! Just try it once I swear
Your videos rock! Awesome job!
Thanks again for watching
So jealous ive always wanted to get up there. The vid and stills are amazing! Are you going anywhere else up there or are you back already?
This was a few yrs ago. Hopefully traveling more soon Liz but nothing planned
@yosemite-tv I prolly should have read the description before asking questions I guess but I was asking if you were up there and going to see preonokee's cabin in lake clark. Who's Liz?
A tough enough climb without having to constantly go back down to retrieve your camera and do it again. Or did you use a drone which I guess technically would be illegal so maybe just don't answer that question. Great cinematography either way. Thanks for sharing it.
No pain no gain
Thanks again!
Any time!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks pal! Now everyone and their ill prepared friends will be there taking selfies. The park is crowded enough you don’t need to reveal EVERYTHING!
This is not a reveal. This is not new information. Grow up
Amazing😵💫
Thanks 🔥
Wow
Nice sunset capture
Thanks
Thanks for sharing - really enjoying all of your videos.
Thanks, lots more on the way
Stunning 😍
Thank you! 😊
One of my favorite things to do there is head out in the winter find a view away from people and just chill and watch
Me too
Man those background screams of the camera falling at 15:07 are hard to watch! Sorry about that! I dropped a 150-600 lens once and someone saw it and approached me and said "there are only two kinds of photographers, those who have dropped a lens and those who will do so soon!" Whether it's a lens or the camera + lens it's heart shattering (no pun intended) EVERY SINGLE TIME, but the redemption is the memories it makes and you got some serious nuggets of those!
Sometimes the camera man really drops the ball lol. Lesson learned
Def. Class 4 up to Grizz. Peak! from...old time climbing dude who lived / worked & climbed in The Valley. GREAT vid!! Wish I could do that route!! THNX
Yeah just a smidge of class 4 to round out the day. The summit to grizzly is only about a 10 minute climb from the top of leconte gully. Easy peasy
